  1. He's 3 for 3 so far, and the "experts" say that his toughest two events are out of the way? There's no doubt he's good great, but will his body be able to take the punishment of swimming so many races?
  2. Come to think of it, you've had the same picture in your avatar since I joined BR a few years ago. : I can't say anything. If I caught enough to brag about I'd go out and buy a digital camera.
  3. I'm on our local volunteer fire department, and I've got to meet some good young men. 18-20 year old guys who have the maturity that some middle-aged men lack. Next week, when your son finally comes down off the adrenaline rush, tell him we're all proud of him.
  4. My heart's still racing.....and I'm just kicked back in the recliner! ;D
  5. The Men's 4x100m Relay (swimming) was awesome! The French team talked trash about the US, saying that they were going to smash the Americans. And, at the beginning of the last leg of the relay it looked like it. The French were ahead, with the US in second, but the Americans came back and just barely out-touched the trash-talking French team. I love it!
  6. Can't wait to read your first fishing report!
  7. I guess we could take out ball and go home. But, since our nation's leaders decided to send our best atheletes to China to compete in the games, I'm going to cheer for them to win every gold metal. If you boycot everything that is negatively influenced by politics, money, or bribery, you probably don't watch many sporting events anyway.
  8. Anyone know a site where we can keep up with the metal counts?
  9. I watched most of it, and althought I'm not really into that kind of "artistic/showy" thing, I was impressed.
  10. I love to watch sports, pretty much any sport. I would watch competitive thumb-wrestling if it was the only sporting event on TV. I also love the USA. That combination leads to a very addicting couple of weeks every four years. I love the Olympics! Go USA!
  11. I think it's probably best to give Faircloth a pass on that. He was emotional. IF he didn't think to congratulate KVD at that moment, he certainly will later, once he gets his mind straight.
  12. preach4bass posted a topic in Tournament Talk
He didn't do so hot today, but Faircloth did a lot worse.
  13. Great fishing report and congratulations on catching something off of your own creation.
  14. Shhhhhhhhh......don't let the Bait Monkey hear about all those new funds. ;D Congratulations, you deserve it.
  15. Way to go man, that's awesome. Let us know when you find out what lake you'll be coming to in NC. If it's close I'd like to come to the weigh-in.
  16. Well, can you tell us yet? Come on, we've got to know what kind of soap will take that fish smell off our hands after a long day on the wayer!
  17. You were gone? :-? Glad you're back!
  18. That was a great post! Congratulations on your catch. Most of us probably fished a lot longer, or at least caught a lot smaller fish than you started off with.
  19. Harry and Charlie didn't get whacked. They finally saved enough money to buy one of them high-dollar, fancy bass boats. Unfortunately, on their first trip, Harry got the boat on plane, hit a stump, and they're still perched up in the same tree as their Triton. They'll climb down after a while, and we'll hear from them again.
  20. Welcome to BR!!!
  21. Congrats on the new PB!!! I have the same scale 5pound is talking about, and I've had good luck with it so far. I have to buy a new one every couple of years, but it's worth it.
  22. Welcome to BR!
  23. You're probably not going to like my advice, but I'll shoot straight: If you have a lake in your neighborhood, park your car and WALK to your fishing hole. Money saved! As far as the fishing class, that sounds like a good idea. However, it only sounds like a good idea if you are planning on offering it FREE to the kids in your neighborhood, to introduce and get them interested in bass fishing. I doubt you'd get a lot of folks willing to pay to get their kids in a fishing class. That's just my opinion, but I hope you find something to keep a little jingle in your pockets, and be able to teach kids about fishing as well. Good luck.
