  1. I've got a couple rods I could use for that purpose. First is an old BPS IM6 Bionic blade pistol grip med/fst. I use it mostly for topwater but have thrown smaller cranks on it for up close and in tight crankin. Second is a BPS Crankin stick, 6' Med. The handle is around 7". Just enough to get both hands on the end of it. I've never tried any of the specialty crank rods before but the BPS crankin sticks are about as nice a feel in a crankin rod as I've used. Nice give in the rod and the rods load nicely to get smaller baits out. At around $30 - 40 when on sale, they're worth at least a look unless you can't stand the power hump grips. One more I can think of. An old All Star BCM-6 Classic. I've used this guy for tossing small cranks, jerkbaits and 1/4oz spinnerbaits. Great little roll caster rod with around a 6-6.5" grip. Nice action. Feels good in the hand when casting and working smaller baits.
  2. Did the display model hum? Doesn't sound right to me.

  4. Tackle tour did a pretty extensive write up on their line within the past year and they were impressed with what you got for the price. I believe they're making the stuff for BPS and some of Cabelas.
  5. Sounds pretty much like I'm luckier than you with my past history of this. Fewer events and most not during the day when it could effect work, though waking up 2,3 or 4 times a night is no joy either.
  6. Another in a cluster event here. Russ filled me in. Seriously though Russ, the perzidone is working for me. Some kinda jumpy side effects but the few events I'm having are so muted as to be a minor annoyance and they barely last. Know need for O2 or injections. The stuff is even a generic so my cost was $7.75 co-pay.
  7. An old BPS Bionic blade IM6, 6' med/fast, pistol grip rod. Like an old pair of slippers. Otherwise, the only favorite is the one I'm currently catching fish on.
  8. I would've left the wheels on the chair. That has a You tube video written all over it. ;D
  9. The high 5' are not speed props but are meant for helping with lift. What is your hole shot like?
  10. Tis a rather confusing post there. First, neither of you knows much about OB motors. Then he "finds out" the jets are oversized for that particular carb on that motor. Then you're "guessing" that the jets are oversized......??? huh?? How did he find out if the jets are oversized and if he found out that they were from someone who knows what they're talking about, why are you just guessing that's the problem? OB motors from the 90's on became more complicated to work on for the average backyard OB motor mechanic. In your guys case, neither of you have any idea what you're doing. I'd suggest taking it to a Suzuki dealer before you guys start spending a bunch of money chasing a problem that may be due to nothing more than simple carb adjustments first.
  11. I've heard both good and bad things about them. Good idea I suppose the complaints I've heard were the construction wasn't as rock solid as it should be.
  12. I have Plano's 3700's in assorted sizes, a couple BPS and Tackle Logic 3700 style boxes.
  13. 2 on a Zara spook before. No pictures sorry. Both around a pound, pound and a half.

Muddy, I heard that West Lake may be changing it's name to West Gulch in around 80 days.
  15. Yep, stupid idea. They said on the news last night that this latest price hike is due to Rumors that there may be shortages of home heating oil this winter. : They can make up anything, including planting rumors these days to jack prices and gouge the consumer.
  16. If it was one of the new supremes you were lucky. They're pretty slick reels and Easily a match for a S product.
  17. I picked up some tips on chatterbaits from several members. Also, had the skirt bands breaking on my jigs and spinnerbaits and was given advice by fluke on the best replacements for them. (white and black bands, not the ambers) Great place to pick up tips and the articles at the top of the webpage will set anyone on a right course that takes the time to read them.
  18. I use a line you can't find anymore. It's a co-polymer called Realine. Low memory, less stretch than normal mono's like XL or stren, decent abrasion resistance and the knot strength has been outstanding. A place called weber liquidators still has it in closeout. email capthank@rcn.com
  19. All Star Platinum rods. This guy sells Platinums for $115 each + shipping. http://bobbysfishinrods.com/ Incredible rods. You'll think you're fishing a loomis but far more durable.
  20. Go to the top of this webpage. Click on fishing articles. Before you will unscroll a number of options that will help you understand the hows and whys any lure works best under certain conditions or times of the year. Click on Bass lure techniques and read. That's what it's there for. Trying to answer your question in a single post is impossible.
  21. Shoot, I forgot about Dicks completely. ;D
  22. I have 3 power graphs. you're right, great reels!
  23. Like we don't have enough places to blow money now, BPS, Cabela's, Denny Dennis, Dunns. Very strong rumour within the past week is that Gander Mountain is going to ink a deal to takeover the old K-mart store at I-55 and HWY 141 in Arnold. The complex is already being torn up and re-developed and the local rag indicated that the deal is probably already signed. At walking distance from the house, it looks like I see a PT job in the future. ;D
  24. So scooping dead fish out of the water is a no-no in this tourney, how about foul hooking them? Do they have to be hooked in the mouth to count?
