  1. I guess I should feel fortunate that my episodes have normally been several years apart. This isn't great but I've learned to work with the pain. I got one of those neck/back massagers, they look like a little alien with 3 rubber vibrating feet and I put that on the areas during the attack. Tends to help. I also found pacing around outside last night in the cool air helped some. I'm still trying to get through to the doctor as I type.
  2. I've suffered from this on and off for quite a few years, 10-15 +. Very episodic. Usually it's been 2-3 years between episodes which almost always have occurred in the fall. That article pretty much sums it up. It's my left eye/temple area that's effected and from my recollections, always has been. Thanks for responding Russ and thanks for the info on the medication. I used to pass these off to tension or sinus headaches for years. My wife told me several years ago that it sounded like clusters. I should've listened. It's been interesting reading on this. I'll have to visit the site after work today. Question on the oxygen. You kinda know when one of these is coming on, it's like hearing the train off in the distance and you know it's coming. If you hit the oxygen then will it stop it?
  3. I've had a periodic history of these REALLY bad headaches over the years, they usually hit me around this time of year but not every year. The episodes last around 3 - 4 weeks or so and then end w/o warning. Wife talked to a co-worker and he said they sounded like cluster headaches that he suffered from. Anyone else suffer from these? I've read up and I've got virtually everyone of the classic symptoms. The d**n things are nearly timed to come on virtually everyday at the same time. The sad part is they occur at night and wake you up out of a sleep. Forget the over-the-counter medications, even Excedrin Migraine, they don't work. I'm calling the doctor today. Any sufferers out there and what medication do you take?
  4. The 518 would be considered part of Rangers Elite or high end line. The R83/93 was an entry level model with fewer options, engine choices and color choices for cost conscience customers who wanted to get into a ranger but didn't want to spend the big bucks to do it. Most of the major manufacturers offer some sort of elite line and then a budget line. Build wise, the quality of the boats is the same.

Great spring time baits. I've got a bunch of them.
  7. I learned from tips from the best, Charlie Campbell. You actually have to half step the bait in order to walk it around something. The half step also works good if you want to walk down the side of a dock and constantly bang the dock on each twitch. It involves catching the bait halfway through the walk when it's going in the direction you don't want it to go and popping it real fast to bring it back. It takes a lot of practice and concentration while you're doing it. One tip is to slide a piece of heat shrink or surgical tubing over the line eye and punch it towards the bottom of the eye so the line is on the bottom side of the eye. This helps pull the bait down better and makes it react and move the way you want it too. If you just tie off to the eye the line basically runs straight off the front and it's harder to get that head wagging down which is what really gets the bait working good. Some guys actually worked a little file into the screw eye and made a notch in the line eye to help keep the line down low. I never did that for fear of abrasion and break offs. In the early versions of the spook we used to drill out the rear weight and epoxy over the hole to free up the rear of the bait. Heddon later changed the baits to make that not as necessary.
  8. I thought I recognized it as one of those LBH video's on that stock tank he fishes. ;D
  9. I don't turn my bow finder off when I pull the TM out of the water to move to the next spot and I've never had a problem in all these years. Myth busted.
  10. My AT is similar. Speeds 1 and 2 are very slow. I use these most of the time unless it's windy. Speed 3 jumps up pretty good. I use this when the wind is blowing. Speed 4 is another jump from 3. I use this if the wind is really howling. Speed 5 really takes off. I only use this when moving from one spot to the other on the TM. Just something you get used to.
  11. Is it just me or has this site been slowing down again? When the server changeover happened this place just zipped along. Great download speeds. I've noticed over the past couple weeks or so the site seems to take longer and longer and longer to load a page. I've had the problem both at home and at work. Anyone else?
  12. Understand that friends come and go but a precious few you should hold onto.. Baz Luhrman The Sunscreen Song
  13. Skillet gave pretty good instructions. That's definitely a bait that takes some time to learn to work right. Sorta a walking, chewing gum and patting your stomach at the same time. Anytime the fishing is really slow I'll pull the bait out for nothing other than practice just to stay in tune. Good dog walkers can walk a spook completely around an object.
  14. Fishing is going out, interacting with the real world, nature and enjoying the riches God has granted all of us. A computer game is interacting with a machine. Which do you want to be a part of and participate in, reality or unreality? I say turn the d**n computer off and go fishing.
  15. Unless you're gain is set too low it's probably the following.. In problems with graphs losing signal or giving erroneous readings at running speeds, most dash mounted depthfinders with skimmer type transducers mounted to the transom lose sufficient signal to operate properly due to excessive turbulence sending air bubbles across the face of the transducer or the transducer is mounted in a position too high where the transducer actually loses contact with the water. Your choices in an aluminum boat are to move the position of the transducer to another location where the turbulance coming off the hull doesn't interfere with the transducers ability to send and receive a good signal. Since your boat is aluminum you don't have the option of going with a thru hull transducer.

I'm guessing Glass Killer in spanish means: Sharpen the hook before use.
  17. Those were possibly part of a promotional deal with BPS. I've seen a bunch of those silver, limited edition Extreme reels on Ebay for several months but have no idea where they came from. You could try calling the BPS reel repair service center and get the skinny on those reels.
  18. The naturals and ones I like. Spinnerbaits.I used to throw these so much I got sick of em. They're a fun bait to modify and play with. Crankbaits. I love all types. Whether lipped or lipless, too many don't utilize these nor explore all the possibilities. C-Rigs. Once I was shown it just clicked. It's my go to, tough fishing search bait. I love experimenting with weight systems, leader lengths, hook styles and soft plastics. You can C-rig minnow style baits too. Plastic worms. Sentimental favorite. I learned reading Bill Dance articles. Once I figured these out I love em. Zara spooks. Back when I fished these a lot, I could walk em completely around an object. A lure that is only as good as the artisan working it. It's really a bait you have to be in=tuned with to really work right. In-line or regular buzzbaits These have always been the cats meow for me. When that sucker is churning across the top of the water I know I'm really pizzing a big fish off and wait for it's reaction. Frogs,Slop baits.Since the first day I tied one on I loved em. The problem for me is finding water that has slop to fish. Now the baits I'm not so keen with. Jigs. I've been fishing these for years but I'm just not connected with them like others are. I know there's more to these baits than what I do with them but I've just not got that one on one connection. Senko. I loved fishing the sluggo but this bait? I'm missing something I guess. This is year 2 for me and I guess I'm not completely getting it even though I have a rod specifically made for fishing them. I'll continue to experiment and learn the bait. Jigging spoons. Ok, I admit I haven't fished these enough. when I've had the opportunity I've caught fish with them. Still not something I really connect with. Drop shot. OK, I don't understand is up with this stuff? I'm clueless. I've got the equipment to DS but I don't do it. I suppose I need to hook up with someone who is good with the technique and experience success. I'm just not making that one on one with this deal either. Swimbaits. Another I don't understand. I'm clearly missing the boat on this deal or sumthin. I've thrown these things and gotten a nice arm workout. Nothing in the livewell. Shakee heads. Charlie brewer was doing this years ago with his do nothin worms. Great technique but I just never got into it. Maybe I should re-explore.
  19. My guess is the fish have been listening to the news and are busy booking flights north or west to somewhere, anywhere that will have water in the next 3 months.
  20. I'm concerned I need to have a drink first and think about this I suppose we could call the police and report a hostage situation or just go with the military right off the bat but whatever we do it better be fast cause without those bouncies this place will go right into the Well, enough of this, I've got to go to the store and get some new glasses whatever you do is fine with me. I'm outa here all
  21. Found this at Iboats http://www.iboats.com/Polar_Kraft_Boats__CF-1651/bp/43br2020s0m44419 according to the model it's a Polar Kraft. Good luck.
  22. Rogues X-Raps LC pointers Husky Jerks in that order
  23. Most don't advise using it since it doesn't have the flex qualities needed to adhere for long on a flexing fiberglass boat hull.
