Recommendation: $300-$400 Baitcasting Combo
somebody mentioned the cumara earlier but it didn't make the cut here. I don't know if you forgot about it or just don't like it but if it was just forgetting definitely keep it in mind. I can't say enough good things about these rods absolutely love them.

New Rage Tail 4 Inch Grub
Good story

Mono Vs Fluoro
I prefer it for any bottom contact or finesse application. Anytime sensitivity is key. Right now I have it.on my football head rod my t rig rod and my dropshot rod.

New Rage Tail 4 Inch Grub
No offense man but how can you not catch fish on the rage products. Which ones have you tried, how have you fished them.

What To Do When Someone Steals Your Spot?

Medium Finesse Rigs
Hey Rob, I have a very similar set up to what your looking for and like it a lot. My reel is a patriarch but still similar to the supreme XT. My rod is the 6"9 ML/XF veritas. I use it for shakey head, neko rigs, and dropshot. I really like the veritas and have had no problems with it. For every bad story on this site you can find two people who love them so if you like them don't be scared. The only thing I would say is stay away from the 7" med. I don't know if you have seen it in person or just the internet but for some reason it is way to thick. I was planning on buying it for a different combo but once I saw it I thought no way. I ended going with the 6"6 m/xf which has a much more appropriate thickness although still a little thicker than you light expect from a med action rod. It's about the same as my MH cumara casting rod. As for the line I use 6# trilene 100% on a 30 size patriarch and have no problems. Just make sure to leave plenty of room on the spool and manually flip the bail with your hand and you should be ok.

Favorite Baits And Riggin Techniques?
Another vote for strike king and like most of the others the rage series is the reason. I don't think I even own any other type of bait from strike king.

Yay Or Nay--Slightly Used St. Croix Mojo Bass Casting Rod
The mojo does seem to catch a little heat around here but its not a bad rod. The only mojo I've ever fished is my friends 6"6 plastics rod and its pretty nice. At full retail maybe not the way you wanna go but for$45 you can't go wrong.

Question About Hook Sizes Compared To Worm Sizes
When choosing a hook don't worry about the length of the bait. You should look at the girth of the bait and use a hook that has a big enough gap to allow it to penetrate all the way the body and leave enough room to get a good hooks.

Favorite Ragetail?
I love them all too. Rage tails are without a doubt my favorite line of plastics. Right now in my bag I have eeliminators, anacondas, shad, toads, chunks, craws, roosters, and spacemonkeys. My favorites would have to be the craws both as jig trailers or on an unskirted football head and also the 7" anacondas.

What Rod Do You Use With Braid When Jig Fishing (Not Pitching And Flipping)
I use a 7'2 cumara MH/fast rod for casting and dragging 1/2 oz football heads and love it.

$200 Rods
X2 dobyns makes very nice rods no doubt, but they have become the cool rod to buy and a lot of people over rate them. I would also buy the cumara. Again before I have 20 people yelling at me I like dobyns rods but they are just one of many company's that make good rods nothing more nothing less.

Need Help Choosing Rod Length And Fishing Line
I also use spinning gear exclusively for flukes. It just feels right. I use a 6'6 med/xfast veritas with a pflueger patriarch and eight pound mono. I would definitely recommend spinning gear for the flukes.

Did I Get A Deal?
My choice would also be the new compre. Another good option would be the veritas crank but I don't think it is out yet.

Senko Prices Have Risen Like Gas Prices
Also let me add the dicks near me sells them for 6.50 a pack. 8.29 is absolutely ridiculous and I don't think I would pay that. Bass pro is a rip off in itself. Go to ***.com better prices, products, shipping, and customer service. I havent spent a dollar at basspro since I found out about ***.

Senko Prices Have Risen Like Gas Prices
Sorry, but I disagree. While they are more expensive than they should be GYB senkos are one of the few overpriced products I will pay for. More salt equals more weight and better casting distance. I have not found another stickbait that I can cast as far as real senkos. Also they tear like mad because they are softer, which means better action and fish will hold longer. I use o rings which I know some people don't like but I have no problem with them and makes them last a lot longer. Again let me just say I am usually the first guy to bash a product who raises their prices based on namebrand recognition, however not in this case I really believe they are with it. Also I should mention I don't use them too often,if.I was out their losing a pack or two a day if might have a different opinion.

What Handle Material And Type Do You Prefer?
Me too.I hate the power hump. Even the st croix hump onvthe avid is a little too much for me. This would stop me from buying a rod before any cork,Eva,split or full grip.
-
Hard Bait Color
This is the best in my opinion also. If your looking for an all around color this will give you good contrast in most conditions because its half dark half light.
-
Villian Rod Options
Also would any one use a 6'9 ML/mod fast for shakey heads, weightless plasctics, and finesse jigs. I would personally prefer fast or even xfast.
-
Favorite Set-Up
Right now its all three of my cumara/ patriarch XT combos. However I'm pretty sure that soon my favorite combo is going to be my mgx/ villain combo.I can't wait to get that thing.
-
All-Around Line
I really like suffix mono for an all around line maybe 10 or 12 pound whatever you like.
-
Villian Rod Options
I was very excited about getting an mgx/villain combo. That is until I went looking at wich one to get. My plan was to make a finesse combo for things like shakey heads or weightless plastics. Before I actually looked at what was available I was debating between M or ML somewhere in the 7 foot range with a fast or extra fast tip. Well they have no extra fast tips so that made that easy. Then I look at the 6'9 ML and its a mod/fast tip W T F. So I figure ill get the 7' m but it has a mod tip, again W T F. So now I'm stuck picking the 6'6 m with fast tip which I know will feel too short, or I can go up to a 7' MH fast which is much heavier than I wanted since I was originally considering a ML. I know i could get a different rod but I just can't make myself put the mgx on a different rod. So am I the only one who sees major holes in this lineup and what would you guys do for a rod. I really want the villain/mgx combo

Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
I love both my patriarchs and wouldn't trade them for anything those guys offer in the same price range or even above it for that matter.unless.were talking Stella of course
-
Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
Maybe the noise he has is different from what I'm talking about, but mine is not even loud enough to hear in a real world fishing setting. The only time I hear it is in a silent room and even then it only make the noise if the spool is vertical. A small.problem to deal with for such an amazing reel at a great price.

Rage Tail Grub!!!!!
And some anacondas and some toads and some space monkeys and some eeliminators and some smoking roosters. Yeah like the rage line little bit too.
