  1. The same thing out here in So Cali.
  2. I had good luck with 2 lb vanish for trout, but the 6 and 8 lb on used for bass fishing caused a lot of my catches to VANISH very fast! -b
  3. Down here in So Cali, we don't get the big names either, but they do get some good local tourney anglers. -b
  4. That's quite an impressive day of fishing for the weather you had! -b
  5. That is for sure! -brian
  6. I was thinking the same thing. It really does depend on your criteria for "Bass Fishing Capital". I will throw in California in the mix based on big ones caught out here. I'll have to give out a shout for Lake Castaic, just to name one. -b
  7. Yes his reply was a little over the top! I Red, Your comments are a bit over the top, don't u....think? -brian
  8. RW, I totally agree that fishing is relaxing and fun, but my fishing situation is much different than yours. I guess I should have explained why I mentioned "alert" so you wouldn't have called me out. My fishing time is very limited so I normally start fishing an hour or so before sunrise and only stay for a few hours. The lake I normally fish at is a Los Angeles city lake and it just happens to have a fairly high crime rate. There is problem with drug dealers, assaults, and robberies. I don't fish the lake in fear, but I just like to be aware of my surroundings. -brian
  9. I never listen to music or the radio when fishing. I'm sure it keeps me more alert since I don't. -b
  10. As a bass fisherman who fishes Los Angeles City Lakes, I've always considered a "Bucket Fisherman" a fishernan who takes home anything that fits in their bucket. From what I see, they are generally people who are fishing for Catfish or Carp, but they take home any bass they manage to catch, regardless of it's size. Always makes me sick when I see a guy with Zero knowledge of bass fishing using a 10 foot rod equipped with a rod bell, 65 lb braid with night crawler take home a 9 lb bass for dinner. -b
  11. Awesome!
  12. Very good advice there. I'd also like to add one thing. U mentioned there are areas that still have some cover. Those are the areas u need to target until your lake's water temps warm up. -b
  13. Mark, I normally fish a lake that sounds like the lake u explained. I've had good luck using a drop shot. I've also had luck using texas rigged creatures and or worms making sure I'm keeping contact with the bottom. -b
  14. Congrats on ur catch...That's a very healthy lookin bass. -b
  15. Caught it last night on my DVR. Another very good episode for sure. I really liked the way that bait looked as he dragged it on the bottom. That seems to be the presentation that's working out in my neck of the woods. I'll have to add Smokin Rooster CROWS to my must have list. -brian
  16. Nice job on the video and music selection. -brian
  17. The nice thing about losing a big one is you know you'll get another big one sooner or later.
  18. From what I've heard is Bass Pro will be having Rod and Reel trade ins on select dates. -brian
  19. Right now at my local lake its all about location!
  20. Welcome and happy new year!
  21. LOL, good one!
  22. I don't drop shot often, but I seem to get the best results when I use Roboworms. -b
  23. I gotta say my Revo Stx HS is my current favorite and all time favorite. -b
