  1. Merry Christmas to all!!!
  2. What did you paint them with?
  3. I know a guy that sunk his aluminum when a cottonmouth fell into it. He shot it full of holes and missed the snake. He had to come back later on and drag his boat out. ;D ;D ;D
  4. If all else fails use Dynamite!!! ;D ;D ;D
  5. Hey madhouse. Here in South Georgia, Cottonmouth snakes sun themselves in the tree limbs that over hang the water. Sometimes you will not see the snake until your boat bumps the tree startling the snake and it falls in the boat with you. Cottonmouths are so mean that they will swim up to your boat and try to join you. Needless to say, you won't see bellyboat fishermen down here. Did I mention the Gators? That's another story.
  6. As long as he did not feel the hooks. First I would stop the the retreive and let set and maybe twitch it a few times to see if he will hit at it again. Throw at it again and see what happens. If nothing happens, go with a plastic worm in the same location. See what happens. Could be fish on!!!
  7. Thanks Peter and everyone else for helping with my Barometer 101 education.
  8. I guess the bottom line is. You don't check the Barometer to see whether to go fishing, but rather check it to see were the fish might be. Right?
  9. Good stuff ernel. There is a cypress lake here called Banks Lake that I fish a lot. Gas is keeping from Lakes Seminole and Blackshear. Not real deep spots. 5-6 foot channels. No real creeks that I'm aware of. 6 ft through out all the trees. It's a tough lake to fish, but I just like the way it looks. Good stuff and good read. You should be writing for somebody. If you are not already. Thanks Again...
  10. I have it. My Firewall was doing that add blocking thing. Now I can check it out.
  11. Nope. Not there. On the Home page at the bottom left I have Links, a search box and a search site tab. The rest is all green all the way down the left side.
  12. BassNut you ought to get a patent on an ache meter. ;D
  13. I don't see a stupid bob...
  14. Your right. You don't have to really set the hook on a spinnerbait or crankbait. Raise your rod tip up with good pressure(your technically setting the hook, but not as hard as you would with a worm tied on) and keep reeling. Worms and jigs. Reel in any slack quickly and and pop that rod up at the 10 to 12 o'clock position. Good luck driving that hook home!!!
  15. Lightninrod! I did the same thing. HaHa!!, but I was in my boat. I got in the boat, in my driveway, loosened the cast control and began picking out targets to cast to. People driving by probably thought I was nuts. At least they did not stop and ask if I caught anything. Practice makes perfect. I use both a baitcaster and a spinning reel. I use the spinning reel mainly to get back underneath docks. I have been practicing a roll cast with a baitcaster that gets under docks also.
  16. At least you are getting consistent weather and the bass are used to that kind of weather up there. If we get that in south Georgia the bass migrate with the birds it seems. Just slow your presentation down and fish the NW side of the lake because it gets most of the sun and there will be warmer water there. Jig and Pigs work well. Make sure you use pork because you will not lose the action in the cold water like you would with plastic trailers. Go big on the the pork. Bigger makes the bass more willing to move and it gives the Jig a slower presentation. 1/2-3/4 oz Spinnerbaits with one big blade slowed rolled or hopped of the bottom works and Suspending jerkbaits are a dynomite way to go. Wear some warm clothes and buy some hand warmers. Good luck.
  17. Does anybody actually monitor a Barometer gauge while fishing?
  18. I'm normally just a sky watcher. What's the basics on using the Barometric meter to fish by? Fish location and lure stuff. What ever you know will be greatly appreciated.
