  1. That's another topic. If an angler can learn how to read his electronics and find productive structure, it puts them way above other anglers. Most anglers beat the bank. I personally believe that the bigger fish and majority of the fish will be found on the structure. Bass have a tendency to group up on structure, beating the banks is one fish here and one fish there. Some anglers think structure and cover are one in the same. That's why I wish they would come out with some new Topo fishing maps. Every map I have see out there uses recordings that were made in the 50's. You have a good point though.
  2. Hot melt glue is the way to go. My wife thought mine was a tube of chapstick. I should have let her try it, but I would have ended up in the doghouse. Plus, she is the one that has the fishing passes. ;D
  3. Fly, if it were that easy, you and I would have our own fishing show. It just seems like the Big fish are not as numerous as the ole days. Only a good DNR program can help highly pressured lakes.
  4. Welcome!!!!
  5. Whittler. That's a nice crankbait.
  6. I have heard the pros say they head back to there beds as if nothing ever happened.
  7. It's the pressure. More people out there throwing baits. The bass start getting wise. That's when you scale down your offering, or start throwing that bait that's collecting dust in the back of your box. Try to throw things that might be different from the norm.
  8. Rattlinrogue!! Isn't sad how we just retire to another job. :'(
  9. I've been a Bassin Magazine subscriber since the mid 80's. Good magazine and no problems with customer service. I believe I still have every magazine sent to me.
  10. RattlinRogue. It looks like you are sporting a new picture.
  11. Gobbledog. I'm in the same boat. Oneday I might step up to the big electronics. I would like to get an underwater camera too. It would be cool see what the bass are doing under different conditions.
  12. What's ya'lls best way to figure out what the main forage is at the time you start fishing? Can you read shad on an LCR at a 6ft to 8ft water depth?
  13. Slow rolling a Big Single Colorado blade Spinnerbait(Gold Blade/Black Skirt) is a great idea. A black skirt works best at night. Working a 1 oz Chrome/Blue back Rattletrap off the bottom. Pop it off the bottom and let sink back down. A Jigging spoon can be used the same way. Deep channel points and in those water discharge areas.
  14. It looks like it's well worth it to pour your own.
  15. Try cloudy and windy days. Try rainy days. Try night fishing. All of these will help you from being seen as much.
  16. It's Winter house rage. Calm down Ohio. We all know that. Ohio will thaw out sooner or later and you can get out there fishing again. I'm going now and I'm going to have fun catching or not.
  17. 9 lb Largemouth in Big Bethel Reservoir in Hampton, Va. Several 8's came out of there also. In my USAF days at Langley AFB.

  21. http://www.del-mart.com/shop/home.php. It's pretty good. 2 piece aluminum molds. I like the 5 1/4" Stik molds. They even have Sweet Beaver and Brush Hog molds. Is it worth it?
  22. It had to be a gar. I never saw a 5 ft carp yet.
