  1. IMO. I don't see 4lbs being a stretch. That's only egg roe and a full stomach.
  2. You watch those Cali bass being pulled in and they are pulled in quick. They have no cover. It's like fishing in a pool. That will not happen in Georgia. We have stumps trees and pads that they wrap around. Who knows if Ga or Fl has ever had 20lb plus Hawgs break them off in the stumps. I believe it has happened. I believe they are out there......
  3. Forgive me for being over zealous. It just gets old after awhile.....
  4. What state owns the world record? GEORGIA!!! Stop trying to disprove our State record. I'm proud of our records. If you don't like me standing up for it, there are other forums you can move on to. If another State takes it, I can live with it. Geez guy..... >
  5. Hey. We own the record. Stop trying to disprove it and get over it.
  6. IMO. I think there ought to be an astericks for any non-native species record.
  7. It seems to me that some are jealous that we own the record. We got the title that did not require an enlargement program. Perry earned it the natural way. ;D
  8. Cali can catch big bass like because they don't have stumps and pads to break them off. Who is to say that a Georgia angler has not had a 20lb plus fish break them off. :-?
  9. You catch one of those Cali bass loaded with Trout, and you've got the record, No Doubt!!! ;D
  10. You catch one of those Cali bass loaded with Roe, and you're in the Dough!!! ;D
  11. Anybody from Georgia not believing can vacate the state. The weight and measurements were taken, recorded and notarized in Helena, Georgia and Perry's only reward was seventy-five dollars in merchandise as first prize in Field and Stream Magazine's fishing contest. The longstanding record is one of the reasons that the largemouth bass was made Georgia's Official State Fish. So Perry took his fish to the post office where, several hours after it was caught, the big female weighted 22 pounds 4 ounces and measured 31 inches long and 27 inches around.
  12. In recent years, The Game Wardens have busted people for shocking their fish that they were keeping to eat. It's still a way of fishing for some people. http://www.wlf.state.la.us/apps/netgear/index.asp?cn=lawlf&pid=13&id=1127247489

That looks like a good bait for the Loch Ness monster. ;D
  15. Post front, Bright Bue sky days. :-/
  16. I caught 2 bass at the same time on a Rattlin Rogue. It has only happened once. The funny thing is that I saw two caught on top water lure while watching a fishing show the night before my fishing trip. I made a comment to my wife that this has never happened to me. Pretty cool!!! That was the only day I forgot to bring my camera. :'(
  17. What are your deciding factors there?
  18. If you are more comfortable with skin hooking, and you are not getting hung up a lot, stick with it. Skin hooking does allow the hook to come out faster.
  19. Find a good Topo map and read the seasonal pattern topics on this site.
  20. Bury the hook into the middle to keep it weedless. The fish has nothing to do with it. When you set the hook, the hook comes through the plastic automatically. Try this. But don't pull real hard. Texas rig a worm. Close your left hand around the worm simulating that it's in the fishes mouth. Grab the line with your right and start pulling while keeping the worm gripped in your left hand. The hook will pull through that plastic. If you yank on the line hard enough, you will put that hook into your hand. Don't yank on the line!!! Using wide gap hooks increases your chance of hook sets also. I hope this helps.
  21. You are young. You will heal quick. If I break mind, I'd probably be done for the year. ;D
  22. I usually set little shot glasses out to pitch to. ;D
  23. You might as well send me all your fishing stuff now.
  24. You can get away with that wading stuff in the Northern states. Except maybe Minn. Musky like that white flashing skin.
