  1. Yep. It does happen. IMO. Mac got frustrated with the bass and snagged it on purpose. Now he knows better than to lose his patience on a bedding bass. Hang in there, you Cali boys will end up with the bragging rights oneday. Hopefully for me it's after 74 more years.
  2. > > Why did you have to go there dude? That whole post rubs me the wrong way. Cali Snag Masters? Screw that!! :-X :-X You question the Cali catch soooo much. Why don't you spend some time questioning Perry's catch insead of bad mouthing the Cali catch? We all know, and most agree, the Cali catch wont be the WR so why do you have to keep pounding that point to death? LOL. People have been pounding Perry for 74 years. I pound Cali for a few weeks. I have 74 years to go right? It works both way guys. Bottom line! Georgia owns the WR, and some people are hating it. Keep on fishing Cali, ya'll will break it oneday. It's only a matter of time. But it want be by the Snag Master's.
  3. For crying out loud. Bad mouthing Perry's world record while praising the Cali Snag Master's. Unbelievable. :-/ Georgia holds the record and the Cali Snag Master's still can't take it. ;D When's the next Cali Snag Masters Championship? ;D
  4. Not if somebody is a so-called Big Bass hunter.
  5. Fishing belts help a lot. Check out this info: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/back_pain.html
  6. I was just asking. Usually when somebody is stating their opinions, and they call the other guys opinions speculations, they are insinuating that they are right and the other guy is wrong. If you are saying you are right then you have to be stating facts. Right? Nobody here knows the real facts. That's why I'm stating my opinions based on my on fishing knowledge. It's just the way I perceive the issues at hand. I'm not trying to start a fight. I'm might want to hook up with one of you guys in Cali someday to get on those big hawgs!!!
  7. You are speculating your opinions, and we are speculating our opinions. Are you saying ours are speculation, and yours are facts?
  8. One of those big saltwater coolers would make an excellent big bass live well. You could have it mounted in the back of your truck. Just like a real Big Deer Trophy Hunter, he is totally prepared with everything he needs to bag that trophy buck. These guys are not prepared, it's a wonder they did not kiil that bass with their own ignorance. If you are going to trophy hunt for a big bass, you better have a live well near by. That's the most important thing if you expect to keep that bass alive to release later. Rookies almost killed that bass.
  9. The only thing really getting ostracized is the guys posting how great Big Bass hunters these guys are. They made so many rookie mistakes it's pitiful. It's great that they released the bass, but don't build these guys up like great hunters. You could have fooled me. They were completely clueless, and lost on the water. Hopefully they learned from there mistakes. Has anybody got their address, I'll send them all a IGFA Certification book. ;D
  10. Wrong. If the IGFA guys approve the next WR, you will not see this argument. That's what the IGFA is there for. Those so-called big bass hunters should know better than most.
  11. The most bogus statement out there is"I love my job, I'd keep on working even if I won a million". Liar!!! It's all about the money. That's the facts. Mac was out in the boat discussing if he could get that bass to pass an IGFA inspection. He turned the fish back in because there were too many witnesses that saw him snag it. That's the facts....The fish would not take the lure, so he snagged it. What's so hard to believe about that. $$$$$$$$$ make some people do things they normally would not do. Remember. IMO.....
  12. Here is Paul Tormanen: http://www.mugshots.com/Current-Events/Paul+Tormanen.htm
  13. 74 more years!!!!!! Goooo Georgia!!!!!! Lets drop it for another 70 plus years.
  14. If your name is Mac "sir snags a lot" Weakley.
  15. I've got a clue, i've got a clue. I know which state still owns the WR LMB.
  16. Congrats!!! What did you Retire from?
  17. You want find old black dot. I caught her the night before. I filleted her up and fried up her egg roe. Mmmm, mmmmm gooood!!!!
  18. We here in Georgia new that the WR was touchable as soon as Cali started producing 20lb plus bass in the 90's. I just hope the WR remains in the USA.
  19. Yea, but if had went ahead and got it IGFA certified, at least he would have real bragging rights of having to release the biggest bass ever. Now we will never how much it actually weighed until it's caught again.
  20. It's so easy guys. Follow the IGFA standards on any possible WR fish, and there will be no arguments. Not even from me. Except for the possible foul hooking, we would have least known if he did in fact have to release a new WR. Follow the rules set in place. Ya'll read the fishing rules for each state to each other all the time. Follow the IGFA rules, and lets put a new WR in the book. Go Cali, Go Cali, Go Cali!!!! Keep on Bassin!!!!
  21. This is not the George Perry era where camera's were rare. He did officially weigh his on certified scales, and met the requirements of the time. Those requirements have changed since then. We have to follow the new rules now. Sorry....It's still a big 20lb plus bass though. But was his scale appropriately calibrated and certified by the IGFA BEFORE he weighed his fish on it????? Look, I think it's obvious (Should be to most) it's a 25 pound fish or there abouts. What's not clear is the way it was caught, etc. So, it shouldn't be considered for a record. It does not matter. George Perry met with all reqirements of his era. The IGFA was formed and improved to avoid what's happening now. You have to stick by the IGFA requirements that are in place. That bass did not meet those requirements, and it is not recognized as a 25.1 lb or a new world record. If he had done what is required, we would have really known if he had to release the new WR because of a foul hook. Stay with the IGFA standards guys to avoid losing arguments and all other issues. They are there for that purpose. It also helps at weeding out the possible cheaters. People will do anything for that money. Keep on fishing!!!!
  22. It's not a fact that it was a new WR. No certified scale to confirm that, and no measurements. A picture and a video does not prove the weight. If you bring up that the digital scale cannot be off by 3lbs. It can be off that much if it's broken, or gets stuck. And it's most definitely not a IGFA certified scale. What were they doing out on the water alone with the bass? They also could have been out on the boat removing the weights. Who knows. The bottom line is that is not certified or verified. Everybody is guessing that it is a WR that's all. It is a big fish though. Just like all of those other 20lb plus Cali bass. No proof guys. Until next time. Keep on fishing!!! Rattletrap, I find it hard to believe you accept Perry's record with no problem, but are so critical of this "could have been" one. And about the measurements ....... I think they are worthless. Go to the Texas Share-a-Lunker website and put those fish in the weight calculator. And as far as the digital scale (the scale was brand new), couldn't they get it certified now meaning at the time they weighed the fish, the scale was certified. I have to except it because it was so long ago and under different requirements. And that's all we have as a guide. We go by the new rules so we don't have the controversies like we are having now. The IGFA requirements are in place to avoid the what if's that are happening now. That bass has not met with IGFA requirements. There is no argument.......
  23. This is not the George Perry era where camera's were rare. He did officially weigh his on certified scales, and met the requirements of the time. Those requirements have changed since then. We have to follow the new rules now. Sorry....It's still a big 20lb plus bass though.
