  1. Thanks yall!
  2. We could sure use the rain. Lake Travis is falling rapidly. I think it may be over 20ft low at this point. Already had some days of 95+.
  3. Think of it this way. If every fry made it to adulthood in a very short amount of time your lake will have nothing but skinny bass in it due to a uneven ratio of predators and bait fish.
  4. Thanks yall, it was Lake Decker on a spinnerbait.
  5. Caught my PB saturday morning on the 5th cast. 6.13lbs. She was released and swam away happily.
  6. The song "Beer, Bait & Ammo " by kevin fowler.
  7. How would you classify your fishing? Shallow, Flipper, Junk
  8. Skeet Reese senko/toad OR a Falcon HD 7' medium heavy will cover just about everything.
  9. I have had to do this before. I took a 3 way swivel and attached 3-4 treble hooks attached to it with hard wire all at different lengths . Put it on my flipping stick with a 1oz sinker with 65lb braid and fan casted the area,
  10. Good topic. Once you have a "confidence bait". Continue to try to learn other ways to fish. That way you will be more versatile. However, in a tournament, you should go with what you have the most confidence in that will work in your current situation. Tournaments are not the place to learn a new technique.
  11. If your looking for a spinning reel, then a shimano sahara is a great reel. I have a phluger president from about 5 years ago and it still works like a champ when I use it.
  12. Treat yourself and spend 90$ on a Shimano Caenen. You will be happy you did.
  13. Top 5 bass lake in order in the US. 1. Falcon 2. Falcon 3. Falcon 4. Falcon 5. Falcon .
  14. When I buy a reel im looking for something that will last a long time. Cast good, has a good drag, good gears, and fits my hand well. As said before, "almost the same" can be interpreted many different ways.
  15. I own two of them. I have used Caenens,Citicas(owned one for a while also), and curados. IMO its just as good as the Citica. And almost as good as a curado. Its a very light reel also. Caint go wrong with any shimano tho!
  16. Shimano Sahara and Falcon or Castaway rod.
  17. If I caught a Lake Record/State Record/World Record. TXPW is getting called and its getting certified. Almost any lake record will have to be over 10lbs. For Lake Austin over 16lbs. For the state record 18.18 from Lake Fork is current.
  18. Advice on fishing Stillhouse? Take a shovel so you can dig a hole to another lake. Not joking. If your fishing is limited to that area, then go fish Belton. Otherwise I would advise fishing another lake.
  19. Skeet Reese Senko Toad. Horsed tons of fish out of reeds and grass with them.
  20. I use a Falcon HD 7' Heavy paired with a quantum burst spooled with 65lb braid. Works like a champ pulling fish out of slop. However I would recommend a better reel. I hate that quantum because it dosent ever want to cast good for me. Maybe im just to accustom to Shimanos.
  21. Welcome! What lakes around here do you fish?
  22. Thanks yall!
  23. Fayette is a awesome lake! If your having trouble putting together a limit, iv found fishing on the tank damns with a drop shot rattlesnake to be very productive for both numbers and quality.
  24. Well just signed up. Im 16 and live in Central Texas. Some of the lakes I fish on regular basis are Fayette, Austin, Travis, Bastrop, as well as others. I have traveled to Choke and fished it also. I would classify myself as a shallow water fisherman. I love flipping reeds with soft plastics. I normally focus on fishing in water about 10-15ft and shallower. My rod and reel combos are mostly skeet reese rods and shimano reels.
