  1. sounds like im in the minority but i dont mind them. entertaining for what they are. their video editing is amazing and its fun to see the different places they go. as with the products they push... i dont personally have any of their things since i don't believe they are to the quality of the other brands. time will tell
  2. yeah i may give it a try, but just odd that it is such a stiff rod even compared to all the other frog rogs in their other line up. ultimately if that is true then it will work in my favor in the ocean
  3. Does anyone have experience with this rod? I see that they will be going on a prime sale next week and wanted to pick one up. It states it is rated to 4 oz, but most frog rods I have seen are up to 2oz. I am actually going to be using this for ocean fluke fishing and if it really is like a broomstick then great I can use it for bucktailing.
  4. not in the market for a new reel, but just curious to see what others thought of this reel at the 150-170 price point. kastking it seems has a very reasonable reel at the lower budget pricepoint, but at this price point do you see it comparable to say a tournament mb? or other similarly priced korean oem reel? or do you think it punches above its pricepoint?
  5. i am not very mechanically inclined. last time i did it i put it back together and it didn't quite work the same...haha...
  6. appreciate the suggestions! thank you!
  7. just curious if anyone frequents a tackle shop that also does reel servicing? i seem to have difficulty locating any...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  8. do u think the dobyns has a softer tip? i have a 7'6" tatula H that has a relatively stiff tip that can work a frog, but is not ideal
  9. just wondering when you said light tip for the daiwa rods does that mean faster action? I am actually looking at the 7'2" Tatula H vs the 735C Sierra as a combo rod for heavier stuff, but I enjoy frogging so much that I want to make sure there is a nice softer tip to fling/work frogs around haha
  10. good to know. i was looking at the speed demon pro frog rod and wondered if it had backbone, but with a limber enough tip
  11. while i appreciate the vote of confidence, I am hoping to see if there might be more unbiased opinions/experiences.
  12. that is good to know. I wish there were places that could carry so I can at least see/feel them in person, get a sense of the taper, etc.
  13. Just curious to hear people's experiences with their rods. I realize that their rods are a more recent addition to the market than their reels. It appears the general consensus is that for the price the reels perform, but are the rods the same way? I am looking at the new Speed Demon Pro Rods. Do they compare to other 100 dollar rods such as the Dobyns Fury, St Croix Mojo, etc? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
  14. Hello everyone, I will be moving to York, PA for a year and could use any direction on where to fish what I can fish for, etc. Are there any clubs in the area that would allow a non boater for the year? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -Jeff
  15. sounds like both are decent rods, just wonder if one is maybe better suited for something vs another type of lures...im thinking this will be an all around rod but spinnerbaits/swimjigs/chatterbaits being the primary use...
  16. Just wondering if anyone has used these two rods? Any noticable differences between the 2? Action? Power? They are rated both up to 1 oz, but was wondering if one feels like a stronger backbone, etc. Tip action, sensitivity? Any input is appreciated. Thank you
  17. thanks for the insight. i am looking at a primarily frog rod...it sounds like the powell max may be better? haha
  18. ah i just can get those two for around 100 dollars so just curious if one outperforms the other since its newer
  19. Just wanted to hear thoughts on the two? Sensitivity similar? How is the action? Thanks again everyone.
  20. i too have a tournament and a tournament pro. my only guess is that the tp is much easier to cast, lighter spool maybe? so being used to the tournament and force necessary to cast, maybe with the tp your body hasnt adjusted to the ease in which it casts? thats just my 2cents hope it makes sense
  21. piggy backing on this topic. curious how the fury 735c compares to the carbonlite 7'3" h xf. how does the tip of the fury compare to the carbonlite if anyone has used both rods?
  22. going to definitely try this bait out
  23. pb&j most of the time...on my first tournament i didn't know bananas were bad luck...never brought them after that first time...but i did win first with the heaviest weight in the pool of boaters and nonboaters...plus big bass...so....good luck for me?
  24. that is basically what i had in mind...i just know that st croix rods are rated a little stiffer...the fenwick medium just seems so whippy that maybe the mh would serve a more controlled skip?
