I use a NRX 852s with a Diawa Ballistic EX 2500 with 10lb Seaguar Invizx. The large spool diameter of the 2500 size minimizes line management issues with straight fluorocarbon. Where I fish we are always dealing with wind. Casting 5" and 4" senkos are no problem even in 20mph winds. If I have a senko rip in half on a cast at least I'm not picking at a backlash for 20 minutes. I would recommend a MXF 6-12lb line rating in the Jig and Worm series.

MXF would be my choice. The extra backbone that the medium provides can be the difference between landing a personal best or the one that got away. It's an extra measure of control when fighting the fish near cover or obstructions.

I use 10lb Invisx on my Diawa Advantage 2500A spinning reels and don't have any handling issues. I wouldn't use 10lb on my Shimano Sahara 2500 because of the smaller spool diameter. If your 2500 size reel is a Shimano then 6 lb Invisx shouldn't give you any problems.

You didn't mention what size spinning reel you have. Both me and my fishing buddy have been using TD Advantage 2500A reels with 10lb Seaguar InvisX for the last 4 years with no handling issues at all. I have them on 4 of my rods, he has them on 2.

G. Loomis for me. They have a vast array of lengths, powers and actions to cover everything from pan fish to saltwater fishing. St. Croix is right there as well, I just don't like painted blanks.

I use a BPS rigging bag. It holds 8 3600 size boxes and has a zippered drop down rigging tray. Very handy for texas rigs, drop shot rigs etc. It also has a binder for worm bags and lots of storage pockets and is very well constructed.

I generally fish sparse weed, rock and sand bottom so I use a G Loomis 783 IMX with a Shimano Curado 200 e7. My all purpose spinning combo is a G Loomis NRX 852s with a TD Advantage 2500A. 12lb Silver Thread Excalibur on the Curado , 10lb Seaguar Invisx on the 2500A.

Silver Thread Excalibur in 12lb for baitcasting reels and 10lb for my spinning reels. Low memory , smooth handling and great abrasion resistance. It's getting hard to find so I've been ordering 3000yd spools from Cabelas.

The Powell 6103 that I was referring to is the TW Powell Max Wacky Rig spinning rod. As a comparison I can cast an unweighted 4 1/4" BPS sticko a lot further with with my NRX 852s than I can with the Powell, same reel, same line on both. I realize the NRX is 3 inches longer and as such could account for a bit more distance, but the lighter tip allows the rod to load light weight baits and really launch them out there. As you approach the upper lure weight rating the casting distance seems more even between the 2 rods. I wouldn't hesitate to throw 1/2 oz baits on the Powell but don't think the 852s would handle them as well.The Powell is rated as 3 power rod, the 852s is a 2 power. Both are extra fast action rods.

I have been fishing the Powell 6103 rod for about a year or so. I don't think I would consider it an all round rod. Although it's rated for 6-12lb line and 1/8-3/8 oz lures it feels more like a MH than a medium. The extra fast action transitions to a solid backbone about 1/4 of the way down from the tip. Don't get me wrong, it's a great rod for soft plastics, I just don't think the tip is light enough to load properly to throw Mepps spinners long distances. For all round light lures a 2 power rod would be more suitable.

The TD Advantage 2000 is $99 at Tackle Warehouse right now, great drag, smooth retrieve and solidly built. I have 4 of the 2500 size and I really like the line management. Nothing is more annoying than uneven line loading and weak bail performance.Great casting with the ABS spool, easily compares to the Stradic for a lot less money.

Ideally the NRX 852s is the most appropriate model for the type of fishing you do. I haven't tried the 822s shaky head rod, but I use the NRX 852s for weightless plastics and I'm really impressed. I hope someone on this forum can give you an opinion on how they compare. BTW mag medium is a 2.5 power rod , between a 2 power and a 3 power.

NRX 852s with a TD Advantage 2500, 10lb Invizx. Killer weightless plastics combo. It seems my other rods are just along for the ride.

I just bought 3 TD Advantage 2500A spinning reels at Tackle Warehouse for $85.00 each during the 4th of July sale. There is no way your going to find a better reel for that price.
