Sunline....the Good, The Bad & The Ugly....
I use Sniper 14lb on my everything rod, it's great, never found any fluoro as sensitive and supple. Yeah, it's expensive and I need to be careful bout birdsnesting, but I'd rather gripe about that than sensitivity and suppleness.

In The Market For A Reel
So I have fished the Daiwa, can't say it compares to my BB1, but it was def a good example of getting what you buy. I have had no problem with it, although I regreased it fairly quickly. I just can't help be a Lews fanboy haha

Bluegill Beds
Thanks guys! I went out the other day with a bluegill colored swim jig, caught a few dinks. Now I just wonder if there is even anything bigger in the lake itself haha!

Bluegill Beds
Now that's advice. So I should toss some divers 10-20 feet off the bank? I'll admit, fishing in more than 5 feet of water intimidates me

Ripbaits
I fish them how I fish jerkbaits, and I have no patience, so like he said^

My Morning
I was actually debating doing that vs the T=rigged worm, but I just bought some new plastics haha, so they won out.

Buzzbait Hookset
Wow, thanks for all the responses guys! I plan on going night fishing tonight, so I will give some of these suggestions a try. I'm gonna try the continuous reel and then swinging spinnerbait style hookset primarily.

My Morning
Awesome! I'm glad to hear that! Thanks! Had I not caught any fish, what would you proposed I have done?

Bluegill Beds
Hey Guys So I've noticed that the bluegill are sitting on beds in my local lake. Sooo if the bass are no longer on their beds, where are they? If you see this, is there something specifically that you fish? Like technique or lure wise?

Buzzbait Hookset
I have no idea how the wasn't already a thread, or maybe I just didnt see it. But how do you set the hook while fishing a buzzbait? I missed half a dozen fish this morning. I wasn't even setting the hook hard. I just firmly pulled the rod tip up, reeled until I felt it, and then set the hook, not even viciously. Most of the time when doing that, they were already gone before I could set the hook. What gives?!

My Morning
So my goal for this summer was to learn how to start reading patterns effectively. I went out to my local small lake this morning. Weather wise it was mostly clear skies, about 65-70 degrees and the water was a bit cooler than that. There was about 2-3 feet of clarity and the water was still. I still had my buzzbait on from a couple nights ago, and the water was still, so I tossed that a bit, and then I tossed a Texas rigged trick worm wherever I had missed a fish or caught one. I had noticed that the were hanging out in about 1-3 feet of water, so I kept tossing into lay downs and under overhanging branches. Overall I had a fairly successful day, maybe 5 or 6 in the two hours I was out. Is there anything else I can assume from the given conditions? And what techniques would you have done given the same conditions? *also, I was bank fishing, sadly.

In The Market For A Reel
Thanks, my reel actually broke last night, so I guess I'm atually gonna get this one haha
-
Plastic Worms
So I went out and on my third cast or so, my reel broke! So guess im actually getting that new reel I've been talking about haha. The technique, is it like jigging? Cuz I know its the fall that entices the bass. And when it comes to bites, will I know? Or is it that discreet?

Plastic Worms
Alright, it's been stormy the last few days, so I haven't been able to hit the water. BUT TONITE. TONITE WILL BE THE NIGHT! I've decided, more so out of despiration and curiosity, to toss my fluoro reel on my crankpole and hit the water. I'll get back to you tonite or tomorrow on the details. Also using a black senko (favorable over a white one at night?) rigged with a little weight about a foot up. Geeked.

In The Market For A Reel
Saw a daiwa exceler crankbait casting reel on sale at tackle-warehouse, and I figure since I have a set up specifically for cranks, and I need a new reel, I could swap em out. So any one got some experience with this baby? I've heard that its only drawback is that it squeaks after awhile.

Plastic Worms
Well good thing I've moved to my fluoro rig. While on the topic, how can you differentiate between fluoro and mono, when sitting at a kitchen table?
-
Plastic Worms
The water is fairly murky and green of course. I have a green punkin' and a blue with black flakes. I also have a bright pink one that I tried the other day. I'm gonna try my other baitcaster, a medium heavy with about 10lb fluoro. We shall see how that works next time I go out.

Topwater Question
I'd start with a little jitterbug, you have the capability to pause, unlike a buzz bait. Then I'd follow up with a big dimpled bladed spinnerbait.

Craziest Things Caught On A Frog Or Other Lure
I've caught a small Plano box last night! I've also caught a swan, needless to say I cut the line. I also caught a bullfrog on a hollow body. Glad to see I'm not alone with that one haha.
-
Plastic Worms
I was using a skeet Reece flipping stick with 50lb pp. I don't think it was soft enough. I'm gonna try using my medium carrot stix with some fluoro next time. And do you just watch the line to see if you get a hit when it sinks?
-
Plastic Worms
So I fished a weightless senko today. Not a single fish. I'm not gonna fish another lure in the day until I get used to and successful with this. Also, how the hell do you fish that thing. Its so light it hardly sinks, and its a pain to cast as well.
