Haha, i just went night fishing and reeled in a dead bloated catfish about an hour ago! Nasty little sucker, glad i had gloves on.

Braid Question
yup. its 17lb. equivalent to like 4lb mono or something, but once i have the money, im going to buy some 50 or 65 lb and test if it makes a difference or not. I think i have experienced cutting, its quite the pain in my ****.

Arbogast Jitterbugs
i fish it whenever, wherever, and how ever i like. And it works! I have the black one that is one size under 1 oz. i think 5/8th. Its my go to lure for nightfishing.

Braid Slips
so i have taken care of it with tape and knots, so far. Does backing with, say 20yards of mono, effect the sensitivity at all?

Braid Question
Wait, im a bit confused. I have a 5.3 caster with 17# powerpro. All i fish is shorelines and just some medium weedy stuff, nothing vicious. But do i really need like 50# braid? I also am not entirely sure what "cutting" is but, ive got good ol' deductive logic. -Robert

Braid Slips
Alright. So i have a bps baitcasting reel, and i use 17lb powerpro. Basically, the line slips off the spool, and it is more or less "dragless." Of course, there is nothing wrong with my drag. More or less, i am asking for any tips or tricks to keep my line secure to the spool. And sadly, it does not have the holes in the spool... So we must be fairly creative about it. -Robert

Froggin'
Me Gusta! Have you ever used the strikeking frogs? one hook, soft plastic, almost like a surface-popper? The best frogs IMO, but i figured i'd add that little bit to this topic. -Robert

Medium Finesse Rigs
Wow, i have never heard of Powell Rods, but i like what I see! I'm looking at the max, primarily the XF 7 footer.

Medium Finesse Rigs
Thanks y'all. This forum is pretty cool, the amount of people that actually read it and reply is the best part! So as far as the tackle goes, im not really set on anything, but im liking where this is going. I probably wont be buying anything until later this fall, so plenty of time to make up my mind. I will most def try the invizx line though.

Medium Finesse Rigs
All right, so im looking to set up a medium spinning finesse rig. This is mainly about the hardware, reel, rod, line too. So as far as the reel goes, i've getting a Plfueger Supreme XT, im probably 7.2 oz one, with the 6.2:1 ratio. And as far as rods go, i was looking at the Abu Garcia Veritas, in a Medium action, either 6'6 or 7'. I'm also curious if the Verdict is worth the extra $30. And for line, most likely fluoro, mainly bc i've heard it the good stuff for finesse. But i hav yet to find a fluoro that i havent had trouble with (i've used Berkeley, and Vicious Elite). So yeah, just fire away, feel free to just give me tips on just one from that long list. Any tips are much appreciated! -Robert PS: i dont really need tackle(lures and stuff) advice, but hey, shoot.

Pfleuger Supreme
THanks yall. I guess i dont get email notifications? Well thanks for the tips, i gonna go with the XT. On the basis that... it looks awesome. -Robert

Tattoos?
First off, Grundlelove, i just tried to wipe that bug signature of my screen. lmao. On topic now, I've been thinking of getting a tat of a Northwestern art style bird on my back right shoulder blade. Which also happens to be my casting arm! I think that's just a great idea for a tat. Now, i wont be getting it until i get really drunk, or hopefully until im out of college, so hopefully another 5 years. So that gives me plenty of time to think about it. -RR

Quality reel for a hundred bucks ?
I currently use the BPS RCX (the purple one ) it's the most expensive I've bought, $109. But it's served me well, I've never had any problems with it. But what i will say, is that it's the one I more or less learned on, so i cant easily point out faults I've learned over. But overall, it's a pretty good reel for the price.

Pfleuger Supreme
Alright, first post. So im looking at buying a Pfleuger Supreme. Either the regular or the XT, which is like $50 more. I just want to do some recon work before i buy, ya know? So anyone have anything to say about it? And more specifically, is the XT worth the extra cash? Any set up recommendations are cool too, i'm just looking to start up a discussion. -RR
