Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
Did you have any trod with grinding noise on your Orra? It seems some people have had this problem. From what I read, the problem was only on the early models. The Orra seems like a unbelievable deal on paper, strong drag, metal body and non- corrosive bearings. I had the same problem on a few of the lower end Shimanos. The reel got wet from the rain while fishing and became almost impossible to turn the handle. Took the reel apart, cleaned and relived and it was back to normal. Unfortunately the problem returns every time the reel gets wet. The lower end Shimanos don't like water, not even a small splashing.

Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
Aren't Penn reels(Fierce, Sargus) just rebadged Pfluegers? That's what I've been told. Would a 2000-3000 Penn Fierce be a good choice?

Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
Thanks for the feedback. I know the FJ model is a workhorse, but the new model does not seem as sturdy(carbon frame , thin bail wire). I haven't seen too many reviews on the new model. Have you the used the symetre in saltwater?

Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
You have the new symetre with the carbon frame and x-ship? If so it's good to hear its durable, as I fish from a kayak and beat up all my reels.I know it's rated for saltwater, have you used it in the saltwater?

Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
Looking for a new spinner for bass and light inshore fishing. Checked out both reels in person they both feel solid. Haven't seen too much written on the new symetre other than some have complained of the bail hitting there knuckles when they reeled and the plastic body. On the Orra, I have read that some have had the reel make a grinding noise when reeling, but the reel felt great in the store. Does anyone have any feedback on either of these reels? Has anyone tried the new Lews spinners they just came out with?

Yo Zuri Hybrid Is The Real Deal
What color are you using? I've only ever used clear and the sports authority by me only has camo and smoke colored Yo Zuri hybrid. I'd like to try this line.

Thanks for the replies and pictures. Makes sense now. Deep, is that a skinny dipper?

Havoc Sick Fish - Any New Reports?
Played around with hooks on the sick fish yesterday. After mutilating the bait with a 4/0 VMC swim bait hook, I tried the 5/0 and it fit the bait much better. The bait looks good in the water with decent tail action. Only problem I had was that I could not get the bait to swim straight. It kept leaning to the left. The nose of the bait was a little beat up from rigging with a bunch of hooks and jig heads. Could this be causing the problem?

Strike King Swim Jig
Picked up a sk swim jig and it has a wire keeper about a quarter inch below the hook. Is the trailer supposed to be threaded on the keeper and not the hook? Seems as though it would be difficult to thread the trailer on both the hook and keeper I've never fished a swim jig but none of my other jigs have the keeper wire located this far from the hook.

Anything Wrong With The Colored Yz Hybrid Lines?
Is the smoke color a lot visible than the clear? The only mono color I have used is clear. I have also used braid and a flouro leader on some of my reels.

Havoc Sick Fish
Been looking to pick up a few of these swim baits. What colors of this bait would be best to mimic a bluegill, sunfish or yellow perch?

New Guy From Long Island,ny
Hello all, Just signed up for this great site after taking up freshwater fishing after many years away. I spent the last 10 years fishing the salt from the surf and have noticed a substantial decrease in the striper population so decided to explore other fishing options. In my younger years, I was an avid trout fisherman on Long Island. Long Island has some great bass lakes/ponds and these are the fish I will be targeting. I look forward to the great information and people on this site. Ken

Guaranteed To Catch Bass
Read the entire thread. Couldn't determine how the Senko is supposed to be rigged:Wacky style or weightless T-Rig? Also, what does skirt forward mean on the Fat Ika?
