  1. I couldnt stand all the time on the road away from family and friends. it would definatley be an awesome experiance, but i think that id rather fish carelessly and without stress in my freetime than do it all the time but know if u dont catch em u go broke.
  2. i voted 10% but thepast two trips have ended up in 1 massive bite on a 10in worm(man im mad i missed him) and zero fish. im going tommorow and if i skunk out again i will be packing the stuff up for winter.
  3. Spinnerbait gets the nod here, bluegill shades have been producing all year, and still are when the fish are shallow enough.
  4. 9/10 i like fenwicks rod too. mine is a: fenwick HMG 7' mh Abu Garcia revo SKT spooled with 12lb berkely 100%
  5. X2 the eagle GT is an excellent rod for the price and performs like a 100+ dollar rod. i love my 6'6" eagle and wouldnt trade it for anything.
  6. Trik worms and the rapala original floater, fish seem to almost magically appear when i fish that thing
  7. jig trailers or you can cut em into shape and use them for drop shotting, someone here recommended cutting a beaver in half length wise and nose hooking it, i tried it and it works good
  8. its part of it, but if you dont want it to happen, im sure it can be helped, a few others have already mentioned some good tips, try downsizing the rear treble and pinching down the barbs, an ewg style treble may help prevent in those odd gill/side hookups- but im not sure on that- it just seems like it would make sense so dont shoot me if you try it and it makes it worse, all in all good fishing buddy
  9. I am actually doing a lot more pitching now that i think about it, i do alot of shore fishing but i still get out on the boat every now and then. I have another question for everyone. i was looking at teloscopic rods, i think they would fit in my car alot better- idk if id even fit a full 7-6" in my car! being a teloscopic rod, does it have any negative effects on the rods quality?
  10. I dont own a rod dedicated to flipping, but its quickly becoming my favorite tactic. i like to punch a little bit, the mats arent thick, so i dont think i need an 8 foot rod. tight now i am using a 7'2" skeetreese jig/worm rod. i miss a few fish and think i need a better rod for the job. So, what should i look for? im looking at rods under $100. is weight of the rod a big factor? should i look for a split grip or a full handle? or does that even make a difference? am i over thinking this?
  11. I have a newer one, i fished with it a few times, i got the 7 MH at Scheels for 70 bucks, i was ecstatic at the deal i got, i bought the rod for spinnerbaits and such. i feel its got a heavy enough backbone for a lot of applications, and i can cast and pitch alot of things pretty far. i love fenwick, i dont own many rods but two of them are fenwicks- as far as using them for cranking- icould see myself cranking with the MH, ive already used it for lipless cranks and it handles them well....sorry i dont really know anything about the older rods, but fenwick makes great stuff
  12. a lot of the time its wind. idont cast to V's anymore unless they look different. (longer, bigger, anything really that will make you 100% sureit was something alive and not just wind.)
  13. i have a few of the northland jawbreakers andi dont like them, but i have heard great things about the silverminnow even though i have not tried it
  14. great to see a fish like that released
  15. floating rapala! ive caught bluegill on size 9, but they will hit size 5 easily and agressively, and the bass find it to be a nice snack as well
  16. if you cant hook em, or you know your on fish with no bites, wait up to a minute, otherwise its usually under 10 seconds for me.
  17. i buy plastics in-store so i can look to see if any baits are deformed or kinked in any way
  18. i had the same problem earlier, i had a fish swim a way with my bait and boom! nothing....cast to the same spot, deadsticking my trick worm, i waited a hefty 10 second.. boom! nothing.. next time, i felt the fish grab it and again swim away, i opened the bail of my spinning rod and gave that fish a good 15-20 second run. and i finally got him! turned out to bee a 13 in bass, idk why it was eating it like that though
  19. whatever you do for the reel, dont spend a million bucks on it, who needs a $300 reel for something that your going to cast twenty feet max? just get a nice solid reel with a good drag and you will be fine.
  20. im going to return a skeet reese senko toad rod soon, i caught my first fish with it and the rod guide is broken, nut i also have a jig/worm rod and i love it, its not whippy at all.
  21. berkely power! in pumpkinseed!
  22. 1. abu garcia 2. lucky craft 3. strike king 4. Nitro 5. Bp- Gas sponsor! important! 6. spiderwire 7. zoom
  23. I caught the same fishfor the 3rd time just this year! its incredible! i know because it has some sort of nasty wound on its right gill plate. looks kinda like a leech got him there but its too big, anyways catching the same fish does happen! and its soo sweet when it does!
  24. what makes them so good on a c-rig? I have some and im curious.
  25. X2 another vote for this hook, it hugs tight to the bait for a more realstic profile, but still gets a great hook up ratio
