  1. I do a 3700 size box and seperate them by rows then by size in that row split by a divider it kinda goes like this top: Brush style heads 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 2nd row: Football heads 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1oz 3rd row: Arky heads 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 4th row: swim jigs/ flip and swim style 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 hope that gives you an idea of how I do it, I have some siebert jigs and order their heads to tie my own favorite colors I also use Northstar jigs and they are wonderful! those are the only two brands of jigs I use anymore and have no plan to switch, very good quality jigs!
  2. x2 my favorite color for a fluke is white ice SK caffine shad in baby bass or ghost shad
  3. Welcome, also from Kansas here. I see you live in Olathe that is where my permanant residence is with my parents but im in Manhattan now going to school for the best school there is lol.
  4. 1. Legend Boats 2. Ford Trucks 3. Shimano or Lew's 4. Dobyns 5. Strike King 6. Budweiser had to add 6 because you have to have something to drink afterwards lol
  5. depends on what, golf has taken the back seat but during the winter mainly duck season and deer season fishing takes a back seat i absolutely love to duck hunt and will not give it up until i cannot do it anymore. Im actually majoring in becoming a guide in college lol. From the time duck season is out until deer season starts it is all bass fishing and i might squeeze a couple days in the winter to go bass fishing but not many.
  6. My walmart has this right now too. They also have a little clearance section of random baits, lures and hooks. I scored some 4/0 and 5/0 Trokar TK130 Flipping hooks for $4.50 regular $6.99, I have been needing some flipping hooks and have wanted to try the Trokar brand so I picked them up almost wiped them clean lol.
  7. my most common is 3/8 or 1/2oz jigs usually have 2 poles with one rigged on each

  9. Ya, I was just back home from K-State for spring break and had to go get new shoes and I saw it, i was pretty excited to see it so when I go home to visit my parents I have another place to take my money. It goes on the list with Rogers, Bass pro, Cabelas, and DSG....its not good for me to have those so close when I visit home.
  10. Just FYI for you guys in the KC area, I was home for spring break and noticed that there is an Academy Sports going up next to the oak park mall. Figured i would let you guys know if you havent heard about it yet because i know their H2O baits are awesome and alot of people swear by them.

Well your in luck because they are putting one up next to OP Mall lol dont know if you have seen that yet but I was driving by over spring break and saw it.
  12. Im getting on the Kansas State team next year, they told me it was just a $20 fee and your on. It does not mean you will fish the big tournaments or all of the tournaments that depends on the club tournaments you have and a point system I think, at least that is my understanding of how it works here at K-State. You will just have to check with them, most of the teams have a website check there and if it does not say then contact them directly and ask them.
  13. I always have multiple packs of the craws and baby craws, my second favorite is the anaconda. I am trying the shell cracker this year, along with the menace grub and the recon worm. Needless to say I LOVE rage products I also got my dad and one of my good fishing buddies hooked on them too.
  14. Easily my favorite "curly tail" worm out there, I like the 10 inch version over the 7 inch too. Some people say that you will not catch as many fish with the bigger one but I would have to disagree I have seen no difference, small fish will eat the bigger worm too.
  15. I like to Pitch to cover and like stated above give it a hop and that is usually when I will get bit.
  16. my biggest from out there was 6lbs 12oz the pic of it was on my old phone and when I switched to my iphone I lost the picture or I would post pictures. I have tried to keep that little lake on the down low dont tell many people about it but my very closest fishing buddies and my dad lol but now its on here so its pretty public it is kinda tricky to get to though and if you dont have a boat you are very limited to where you can fish and even if you do have a boat you better be willing to hit quite a few trees almost no need to fire up the big motor either I only use it to put it back on the trailer.
  17. I usually catch quite a few on a jig, a texas rigged brush hog in green pumpkin, and beaver style baits. My biggest fish came off of the row of trees right next to the ramp.
  18. Im on spring break right now and plan on going out a couple times this week. I havent decided where I want to go but I know I will be fishing lol. I have a love hate relationship with crytzer I love it because of the big fish I have caught out of there and for some reason I like the fight of getting them out of the trees. I hate it because I have gotten my boat wedged inbetween trees multiple times lol thank god for aluminum boats! any chance anyone has hit miami lately ive been thinking of going down there sometime this week I always seem to do really well out there.
  19. Mine is Jigs, crankbaits, and rage pastics. Everytime I go into bass pro im walking out with atleast one of those items. It has gotten bad too, the people at bass pro are starting to knowme pretty well a couple weeks ago I was buying, well some fishing stuff, and i handed her my debit card and she flipped it over to the see id part and she looked at me and said "im not gona id you because I see you in here all the time buying stuff" I finally decided that my trips to bass pro needed to slow down, I also lived 5 miles away from the bass pro. Thank goodness i moved to college which is 2hrs away from that bass pro so I dont spend any money while im here but when I go home I seem to always find my self in there...
  20. I have thrown crankbaits with red in them with some luck but alot of the jigs I tie have red strands in them and like stated above i stick to natural colors for my trailers and plastics with red flakes in them have done good for me and I know red shad is a very popular color for plastics idk what it is about red but they eat it so I use it.
  21. he hit me this past weekend when i was home from college walked into bass pro for one thing walked out with $100 worth of cranks plastics and other random stuff i didnt need and to top it all off i have no where to store my fishing stuff in my dorm so i cant even bring it back to college with me i also have my eye on about 20 jigs from siebert outdoors and i need more jig heads to tie some jigs......the itch is getting bad and the monkey has my debit card.

bluebasser86, i too have been paying attention to the craw colors whenever i see them....being we fish alot of the same lakes my main colors are browns and greens with a little bit of orange or red thrown in. i was just curious to see if anyone has tried that color and i think im gona give it a shot and plus tying jigs is alway fun to see what i can come up with and hope it works lol
