I been using regular 3/0 and 4/0 EWG hooks with this setup (using o ring) and have been landing them with no incident. I am not expert I caught one in this manner yesterday and the hook was set well. I had to mash the barb to get it out.

I bought one for dicks sporting goods yesterday for 1.99, I said what the heck its cheap. I must have caught about 6 fish today(landed), lost 2 and caught a snapping turtle..that was horrible I had to cut the hooks and try to save it went from hooked in the mouth, to mouth and foot, to both feet..took hooks from another crank I had and started catching again. anyway I had more success with this than the red eye shads that I usually catch one or 2 with at the same lake. I missed one fish and caught 2 after that on 3 consecutive casts. I felt like Bill Dance or Jimmy Houston for a second. I was like... is this really happening right now?? I set one hook so hard it flew out of the fishes mouth and I had to duck from the lure Could have been luck, but this thing produced more fish than Im use to, in less time and for less money I posted a few pics of fish and the lure. Im def going to buy more...1/2 oz size

I dont feel too bad then. I will just leave the park be. I catch more fish in my dad's development on average. Ill catch one fish at my worst and thats usually me just trying different lures, but if I go out there with senkos, flukes or fish with a purpose Ill catch 4 min usually my rattle trap or shad usually pulls a few in casting halfway into the lake Im trying to find alternate places to fish, Ill try that spot off of royal palm that was posted

I've caught 3 fish there out of countless hours...i caught one a few days ago. I almost gave up on the park. I fish the wrong spots it seems.
