  1. I have a spiral wrapped 6'6" NFC x-ray build
  2. Some of my shimano reels that were terrible in terms of noise, vibration, crunchiness....it was a bearing that needed replacing: (5x9x3mm)
  3. Anyone picking this version up? https://daiwa.us/products/25-steez
  4. I use mine for sleeper craws, dark sleepers, texas rigs, free rigs, all types of jigs. Yes, I have other rods.....It's my only NRX and I paid over $400 for it, so I am going to get my monies worth.
  5. If anyone is interested...They have a Platinum Endurance now, they posted the worm/jig/spinning rods yesterday after having the cranking rods up for a few weeks. I wonder how long this line will be kept, the Naked series wasn't around long. https://powellco.com/collections/platinum-endurance
  6. Which Powells? I weighed both of my newer model Endurance rods and the online weights were about 1oz less than the actual scale weight. example: 765 online said 3.7 my scale says 4.7 ...similar outcome with my 683
  7. No Issues at all with reels. My friend was in your situation. They told him not to return the Okuma SBX swimbait rod he bought since the top guide was broken and sent him a new one. He gave me the rod with the broken guide and I replaced the broken guide with a new factory guide and ended up with a freebie.
  8. I broke my DVT custom in panic due to a gator coming after my bass. I high sticked the rod pulling the fish onto the bank....the gator was not even interested looking back at the situation.
  9. In Japan many use a 6'6" rod for this, so that's what I like to use fishing it with twitches and (not lift & fall). Certain anglers used a CNQ 783C before Deps made the Soft Jerking Element rod for this technique. If you want more Japanese YouTube info copy and paste this into your search: カバースキャット
  10. Maybe th P5 X-bites if mainly on the lighter end?
  11. 1. I don't touch my line. 2. I will swap the same exact 1/2 oz jig with superglued trailer and the same reel to different rods. 3. Depending on the rod I am using I can definitely feel different things or vibrations fishing in the same exact spots. I will often cast to objects where I can see my lure so I know it's in the same exact area parallel to the bank or near certain patches of grass. I will cast my jig on top of a ridged culvert that connect the lakes and the bumps feel different. 4. I have watched peacock bass peck, pick up my lure or blow on it to get it away from them with certain rods and felt different things, doing things the same exact way.
  12. iRod Air $250 Lamiglas SI Bass $300 13 Fishing Envy 3 (200ish if you google)
  13. Wild. I sold my 51e to someone on FB for $160, it looked brand new.
  14. I use them all. The rod being used plays a role in my line choice since I swap around rods & reels and have no dedicated combos.
  15. I do fish a lake at a local Target. The bright red carts in the lake hold fish ?
  16. When you have shopping carts or abandoned cars in your canals and lakes, like here in South Florida ? leader is handy to break off, when necessary ?
  17. I do know Dick's Sporting Goods may if you have one in the area. They expanded the line recently in my local store to Champions, from Fury only. I have quite a few near me, opposed to 45 mins in either way to hit BPS.
  18. Check out Major Craft rods at Tackle Wave in the UK. They have a ton of salt water rods, for seabass.
  19. Tons of people use the K for swimbait fishing. I have an old 201 i HG model I use braid to leader. I do agree tho, it's time to buy ? I need more IPT after fishing my 8 ratio metanium with a MIR Jr. swimbait. It had the peacock bass fired up.
  20. Do you like that rod a lot? I want to buy a 6'6" or 6'7" rod, at the longest. For texas/jig/cover scat duties. Main requirement is sensitivity for me.
  21. Free Rig or Jig then Texas Rig, Carolina (never)
  22. A local shop will replace the tip guide which comes with the insert it's usually fairly inexpensive. I think it cost me about 10 dollars to replace a tip or guide including the correct part and rewrapping/epoxy. Buy your friend lunch, it will take him like less than 5 mins to replace a tip. If you want the exact match and it's not available from your local store or friend, you can email each company and get the appropriate tip shipped to you.
  23. I doubt you'll be disappointed with your purchase since you've already gone ahead with it. I have the 1 piece version of the 70X casting rod. Strong, well built and pretty sensitive for being so stout. I also want to pick up a Days360.
  24. You can pick length power/actions from the other posts. Tatula XT is about $100 if you want another rod choice.
  25. Outside of the ones listed, I use the Trilene knot with 20lb-25lb cxx or Fluoro
