  1. Woah! I would definately stick to that spot then! But if there are any other people on that lake, just mess around other spots like you said. Don't let people see you fishing that specific spot, because it looks like you found a good spot. You said it was on that grass edge? They're probably there holding to that cover. If you get burned out on the Flukes, which are great baits don't get me wrong, try running a spinnerbait or lipless crank along that edge and see if you can't get any aggressive ones to rush out and slam it. Just keep up what you're doing and don't be afraid to over-fish it, because it sounds like you've got more than enough in that spot to keep you company!
  2. For a pond I'll usually fish soft plastics, one because I'm do my best fishing with em and two because the ponds I fish at hold some nice ones, and nothing entices a nice bass like a soft plastic worm! But to address your question, specifically: 1. Zoom U-Tail worm red shad, Texas Rigged 2. Strike King Bitsy Pond Minnow 3. 1/32 oz Johnson's Beetle Spin The Bitsy Pond Minnow and a 1/32 oz Beetle Spin are for targeting whatever wants to hit em. They're good search style baits, and you sometimes catch massive bluegills on em, and I've heard crappie like em too!
  3. Ok, so a friend and I went to a small local lake the other night, and the lake is about 5-6 acres, give or take. We were fishing from the bank, and I tied on a Storm Hopper Popper topwater bait on my ultra-light. The bait color was firetiger (if it even matters since it was so dark), and on my first cast, I began popping the bait every few seconds, keeping the pops short and subtle, when suddenly something slammed it! We thought it was a little largemouth, but upon further examination, it turned out to be my first Crappie! It was a black crappie from what I could tell, and it was about 10 or so inches. We had heard rumors of crappie in the lake, but didn't know for sure until now. My question is this: Where should the crappie be concentrated at, and what presentations would be best? I have a large assortment of ultra-light baits, ranging from tiny topwaters to small cranks, and an abundance of Beetle Spins, and some jigheads and Gulp Alive minnows. I also have a wide selection of aberdeen hooks, floats, and split shot. And getting live bait isn't an issue. If anyone has any tips, then PLEASE let me know! I would love to catch some more slabs out of this lake! -Garrett
  4. I'm also a big fan of Culprit worms! I usually Texas-Rig a 7.5 inch worm on a 3/0 hook (EWG or regular offset, depending on preference) with a 1/8 or 3/16 oz bullet weight. Sometimes I'll upsize to a 1/4 oz bullet weight if I'm punching through thick weeds or grass.
  5. I have the same issue! Every time I go to BPS or Academy, I come out with some form of fishing gear 98% of the time! I don't know why it is, but I think that lures and lure companies are attracting as many customers as they do fish!
  6. Hey everyone! Figured I'd make my first mark somewhere. If anybody has any advice or questions, or just wants to say hey, please feel free to post, and as always, catch a big one!
