Probably Been Asked This A Lot But.....
Either Trilene XL or Suffix Siege in mono for my spinning reels. I keep the braid and flouro for my bait casters. I do want to put some Nanofil on one spinner but with all of the mono I already have in supply it's just not in my immediate plans.

Are Largemouth Bass Line Shy?
If you go with "hi viz" line it might but the "low viz" / transpearant colors shouldn't affect anything...

Panfish Limit For Meal?
Bluegill are abosolutely great eating. I've never tried red ear or pumpkinseed but I imagine that the taste would be similar; especially since they hybridize naturally...

I like them; get creative with the colors of your flag! But then again I'm colorblind so they could be "God awful".... LOL

Snake !
I've been able to avoid the water moc's down here in Miami-Dade but I have killed a python out by the Everglades close to Shark Valley. Got to agree with Diggy about the iguanas in Broward; one day I was getting off 595 to go up Palm Avenue and it was like the Galapagos Islands btw 84 westbound and the canal.... wall to wall iguanas...

Carbonlite Rods?
I have two; one spinning and one casting. Love them! There are so many options on them to choose from that you really can't go wrong with teh quality and price.

Peacock Bassin
Miami-Dade has scads of them. Remember they are tropical fish so air temps below 60º will cause "lock jaw"; consistent water temps below 66º will kill them. I've had success with inline spinners in yellow / chartreuse and my one Luhr-Jensen woodchopper. The hotter it is the better the fishing.

Baitcaster Vs Spinning
A lot depends upon where you live, which species will you be going after (largemouth or smallmouth or spotted) and how you will be fishing (from the bank or from a boat). As the others have already posted both types of reels have their strengths and weaknesses.

Peacock Bass
Got bunches in the lakes by my house in west Miami-Dade. Good luck up north! (Probably not that often that someone calls PB County "north"....) How are the populations of the invasives they were imported to control up there? (Mayan cichlids, tilapias, oscars, etc....) I think some of the most fun I've had fishing was using the Zebco 202's and earthworms with my grandson for Mayan cichlids.

Tackle Shop Question
From personal experience I know that it is a very rough time for small businesses. We are not fishing related and our numbers are down almost 80% from 2008. We have had to cut overhead as much as possible and work harder and smarter to keep the doors open. Wishing you all the luck in the world.

Biodegradable Line?
There are some very good ideas here http://www.recycledfish.org/ Teeg Stouffer (the Executive Director) was one of Field and Stream's heroes of consevation a few months back

Duh!! Why Didn't I Think Of That
1. Saving the silica gel packs that come with electronics and putting them in your plastic lure trays ("Plano trays") to prevent rust. 2. Instead of tying a spinnerbait directly to you line and then taking a long time to change tie on a flourocarbon leader (12" to 18") and put a swivel on the end of the leader. That way you can keep a snap lock on you line and change them faster. The knot stays in place as compared to putting the spinnerbait on the snap lock and having it go all over the place. 3. Rinse out and save gallon milk jugs when they are empty. Fill with water and freeze. They will keep your home freezer colder than empty air will and save you money. When you go out put one in your cooler. Because of the mass they will stay frozen longer than plain ice cubes and if you leave the lid on them you won't end up with a cooler full of water.

Biodegradable Line?
From what I read the line is supposed to degrade in the environment in five years as compared to mono lasting 600 years, flouro even longer and braids even longer that flouros. They reccommend changing it out every year or every nine months if used year around. I wonder if the airtight foil wrapper was damaged and the "decay" started early?

C-Rigging Crankbaits!
That's why I try to read up on other fishing styles and techniques that work for other species; there is probably something out there that will work well for bass the way that it has with other species but just isn't in vogue yet.

Is Braid "noisier" Than Mono
Thank you guys for the quick and authoritative reponses. Glad to know that it is not something that I did wrong.

Is Braid "noisier" Than Mono
For my birthday my kids got me a new higher speed baitcaster (7.1 ) and a new rod with Pac Bay microguides. I spooled it up with Suffix 832 braid (65 lb test) on Saturday night. Used it for the first time on Sunday and I noticed that the line made more noise on a retrieve coming through the guides than I am used to hearing. I usually use my spinning rods which are spooled with Trilene mono in 12lb and 14 lb. Did I do something wrong or is this normal?

Home Modernization
Living here in Florida I blame it on a lack of manners and common courtesy. The least someone could do is pick up the phone and say "I'm sorry but I've got too much work right now to take on an additional job."

Catching Other Fish While Bass Fishing
Out in the Everglades we catch bowfin in the 24" to 28" range all the time. Did have a 'gator in the 7' range take a Zoom Swim Fluke once. He was just floating so I was able to reel him in slowly but then decided that it would be better to cut the line with him still in the water and about 30' away rahter than try to bring him any closer...

Does Anyone Have Any Experience With This Bait Caster?
A buddy bought one today and so far loves it.
