  1. I would throw in a few megabass rods, forgot to mention that haha
  2. I dont think I'd change a thing. I love my zombie and Powell rods, lew's reels, and toray fluoro. I would however build a custom swimbait rod. Anyone have any suggestions on who to talk to about that? Lol
  3. Imo its very hard to beat a brown fine living rubber jig and a Yamamoto double tail. Been dynamite for me on every lake I've fished all year. Keep it simple, keep it subtle, keep it natural.
  4. Awesome, thanks guys. I was checking it out the other day and it looked and felt like toray fluoro but of course you cant really tell how good it is until you fish it. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
  5. I'm very curious about p line products as I've heard really good things. I have some cxx spooled on one of my swimbait rods and so far I like it a lot. I use sunline and love it but it's not readily available in my area and I'm having to pay extra for shipping everytime I order. P line is always stocked at my local tackle shops so im wondering if I should make the switch. What do you guys think? All opinions welcome. Not a seaguar fan at all so no need to recommend it.
  6. Just buy one. People spend more on tackle in one trip. They're not junk. Its the same blank as the Powell max series of rods. The only difference is the Eva handles and the guides are one step lower in quality but still great strong guides.
  7. Yep, in the process right now. Zombie rods and Lew's reels for me.
  8. dx784cml. bad ass jig rod!
  9. for deeper water, 20'+ i like a 7:1. for shallow water, 6"-10 a 6:1 does just fine.
  10. which fluoros are the best for the money? are there any significant differences? ive been using sniper and love it but would like to check stuff out.
  11. imo seaguar is junk. not knocking anyones preference but i had nothin but trouble with seaguar. sunline sniper in 14-20lb test. best fluoro i have ever, ever used.
  12. 16-20# sunline sniper and 50# sunline fx2 braid or power pro. you have to remember that most fluoros have a smaller diameter than mono so its usually not to big.
  13. anytime im punchin i have my dobyns champion 805c with an ardent f700 flip/pitch, 50lb sunline fx2 or 50lb power pro, bobber stop, 1-1.5oz tungsten weight, paycheck baits punch skirt, and a 4/0 paycheck baits punnch hook with whatever soft plastic bait i prefer on that day. always comes through clean and always catches fish
  14. ill definantly invest in one now. im feelin a lil better now but its still going to bug me for awhile. lol good luck hi salenity lol
  15. yea thats what i usually do but for some reason this time i didnt and i cant for the life of me figure out why. i had some friends say its ok it happens it was just a club tournament. its still very important to me and makes me look bad now.
  16. superlick has a coating over it from my understanding and its supposed to be quieter through the guides yada yada. i like the original, never given me an issue and i happen to like the sound of braid through the guides. i prefer sunline fx 2 but i do like me some power pro.
  17. just for the record, lews was the FIRST, the FIRST producer of low pro baitcasters. ive met guys that have the very first lews reels made and they still use them. if the new school lews are anything like the old, theyll stand the test of time. any reel will last a lifetime if you take care of it properly.
  18. i ask because that happened to me today and i have been feeling beyond bummed, frustrated, embarassed, and disappointed. the power went out over night therefore my alarm didnt go off and i woke up to 3 text messages, 2 missed calls, and a voicemail from my partner. just curious if this has ever happened to anyone else?
  19. yep, pit boss. awesome baits. i like biffle bugs, power team conviction craws, pt t rig jig, theres a lot a like. just depends on how im feelin that day.
  20. hmm, ive never had an issue with breakage or cinching the shark knot down correctly. its really not that hard to tie. ive broken off using the palomar with fluoro more times than id like. weak knots mean lost fish and baits which in turn means me losing money on tournament day. no bueno.
  21. johnny c's california reservoir lures flippin/pitchin jigs and the grass and swim. amazing colors, awesome hooks, and they just flat out catch em. i use different trailers. thats my preference. if your interested or curious check out the website.
  22. i dont ever use the flippin switch. mine doesnt work like it should but other than that this reel is awesome. yea dobyns makes a great rod. i got a couple today, one being that aforementioned 805. i didnt like their 735 but that could have been because its not reeaally suited for what i was using it for. i might be stickin to all dobyns rods from now on. they make the savvy series which sells for 149.99 and is a great buy. vendor sales, idk exactly, it varies. yea braid is just fine. i use 50lb sunline fx 2 and its amazing to say the least. power pro is great too and probably the easiest to get ahold of depending on where you shop for tackle. i noticed it does cut through vegetation really good.
  23. i posted a thread about these awhile back and didnt really get any responses but oh well, enough crying. i use the d bombs and theyre awesome, colors are great, its somethin a lil different than a standard beaver and they have great action. only issue is durability. theyre not very durable so buy a couple packs of each color cus they all slay.
  24. your gonna get a tooon of different suggestions but ill start it off. i have the ardent f700 denny brauer sig. reel and that thing is a beeast! i love it. i now, as of about an hour ago have that on a dobyns champion 805 punch/flip and it feels and looks great. the rod is a liiittlle tip heavy but im not complaining, weight, ect doesnt bug me like other people. to stay within your price range id go with that reel from experience and the veritas. awesome, powerful, sensitive combo but from what i hear, the biffle/hackney rods arent too bad either. powell makes great rods and their max 765 or endurance 775 would be great.
  25. i have no clue, ive never seen, tied, or heard of the berkely braid knot but who knows lol
