Blue, thanks for information, I respect your opinion. I did see in another post that you had ordered a Curado I, what made you decide on it over purchasing a PInnacle?

Demystifying Structure
What's amazing to me is how well some of the older fisherman were able to find subtle break lines understand and visualize the structure, and find isolated brakes without the use of modern electronics. I have heard stories that Rick Clunn was among some of the best at this.

Abu Garcia Revo Premier Gen 3 Vs Revo Stx Gen 3
I may be wrong but I think you will find yourself in the minority wanting more than 145 yards of line on the spool. Many people are paying good prices for shallow spools to reduce the amount of line the reel holds. Generally speaking I hate putting more than 60 yards of premium line on a reel, the rest is cheap backing. Do you do a lot of long lining?

Demystifying Structure
Fish the part of the break line that is in contact with the deepest water in the area, if the break line does not come in direct contact with the deepest water in the area, find a part of it that has breaks that lead to the deepest local water and fish them. Catt's conversation is based from what I can tell on Buck Perry's terminology, if you familiarize yourself with his(Buck Perry) definitions it helps to keep everyone talking apples to apples.

Be honest with me, would you have ever put out the 200 -250 to try one on your own based on what you know of Pinnacle's past?

I respect your opinion enough that if I ever have the chance I will try one, but I can't see myself spending money on one before hand.

Opinions About This Reel
The Exceler is one of the reels that use to be brought up in discussions about best 100 dollar reel, back when the PQ and Citica E were duking it out.

I have a question since you have been able to test them yourself, what does hand tuned mean, what exactly are they hand tuning? Oh, and how many do you own?

Missing A Micro Guide Insert....think I'll Be Good??
Never a good idea to use a rod with a damaged guide. Don't want to risk losing that good one.
