  1. Just found this place, and have not tried it out yet. No sure if its even possible to fish this thick of pads, and its VERY shallow, but I will try. If nothing else, I have a new place to go frog giggin ;D Notice the deer in the back of the first pic.
  2. Never yet, but after 40 years of trying, I am due. My PB Largemouth weighed in at 8.4 on a digi scale, then released. Caught on a Mann's Hardnose Lizard dragging it across the moss in an old farm pond. Last double digit fish is pictured below. 30 inch 10.5 pound Lake Erie Walleye. Fun catching those, and even better eating, but I'll take a 4 or 5 pound Bucket Mouth anyday over a Walleye. Just my Opinion, but im obsessed with catching a 10 pounder!!
  3. I have been using Gamma Edge. Does the trick for me. Treated with KVD Line and Lure of course:)
  4. SWEET!! I would have loved to have a few of those in May. I killed em on Mann's Hardnose Lizards, and I know there are some big mama's where I fish that would rip that thing! Nice Job!!
  5. Sad day! Thoughts and prayers sent to the Jackson Family.
  6. I even had a pillow with her on it as well as the poster. My first love I think:) Thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May she rest in peace.
  7. They sold, so they must be worth it to someone out there. Congrats to both buyer and seller.
  8. NOTHING better than good topwater action IMO!! Congrats, and keep up the fun
  9. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the suggestions. I think I will try to pour my own, and see what happens. I emailed Doug Hannon from his website, and he replied back, and said if it had a foam head, it was from the 70's. I told him the head was not foam, and sent a pic of the snake, and he has not replied. Oh well, must not be his is all I can figure. :-/ Thanks again!
  10. Thanks Crestliner, The head on this one is a rubber type material.. Feels sort of like any other plastic bait, but more rubbery (if thats a word). Almost like one of those old Super Balls that I got as a kid out of the vending machines, but a little softer. I might just throw this thing this weekend and see what happens. Been seeing a few watersnakes in the strip pits, so ya never know
  11. me too.. and start saying "ooooh ooooh don't come off" I do the ooooh ooooh noise too!! I think us fisherman have our own language at times!! haha
  12. Yea, I remember those snakes from years ago, but im not sure who made them either. Pretty neat though.
  13. I have not tried this "yet", but its frog gigging season here, which we have been doing a little of. I "heard" that frog heads are great flathead bait. Sounds reasonable, and would put the heads to good use I guess. Heck, ill try anything once ;D
  14. I feel kinda stupid, as they are so long, I never even thought of them as being a trailer :-[ On the other hand, you may be right Dan, as I knocked the heck out of them with these things. Check out this other ugly bugger that was in the box. This thing kinda scares me!! haha. Never tried it out yet, but I just might.
  15. HAHA, yes they do! Thanks J. Darn things work great weightless on a 2/0 hook Slow sink plus twitching them = great action. Maybe the bass just never seen such a thing, and thought they had to eat it!! Thanks again
  16. For me, I appreciate all the talk about the Rage Tail Products. After watching the video on the Rage Tail Toad's, I bought a pack, and headed to the pits. Did VERY well on them, and they are a great bait. Nothing better than a big ole bucketmouth busting a toad on the surface If it wasn't for me seeing them on here, and watching the great demo on them, I probably would not have bought them. So again, I appreciate, and thank you all for you helping me add another deadly weapon to my box.
  17. Hi All, I picked up a box full of goodies at the fleamarket last week. It has some lures and such from the 1970's and 80's. Well I was out the other evening, and grabbed one of these plastics pictured below, and the largemouth went nuts over them. Caught about 15 bass in the 1 to 4 pound range. This was after trying everything from Senko's, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, lizards and topwaters. Now the problem...I only had about 6 of these, and these are my last two(gave one to my buddy who was successful as well). They measure 6 inches (total length), body is thin (about the diameter of a pencil). Body is 2 inches, and the legs are 4 inches Can anyone tell me what these are called, and if they are still made? Or something similar would do as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I usually find myself jumping with them ;D I get kinda excited at times
  19. I ordered a few of the KVD Line and Lure Samples (very cheap to try). I Use it on Trilene XL and Gamma fluorocarbon (spinning reels). The stuff is nothing short of awesome! Makes the line cast and feel like silk to me. Needless to say, I ordered the full size bottle, and will NEVER go without it. I tested treated and non treated line, and the difference was amazing to me. No line twist at all, and I would guess I gained 20% in casting distance. My fishing buddy is now hooked on the stuff as well. This is my own personal experience with Line and Lure.
  20. Personally I have lost 15 pounds since the weather turned nice here in West Virginia. We walk to many of the local strip pits, and some of them are 3-4 miles (one way) back in the woods. Lots of sweat, soreness, and ticks during and after a hard day of fishing. I turned 40 years old in January, and my knees and back are starting to feel it, but the chance to catch an 8-10 pounder in those pits are well worth a little pain to me. Plus I enjoy getting away from the crowds. No phone service, no car noise, no boats, no ATV tracks, no Litter, just the sounds of nature (its Great). So yes, Bass Fishing can be GREAT exercise if you bust your hump looking for that Monster Bass. Just remember to take as much water as you can carry. We freeze several bottles the day before a big walking trip, and they sure do taste good while hiking.
  21. SUPER JOB!!! Those are some real DANDY'S!! Keep up the GREAT work!!
  22. Thank you Crestliner. I think you are right. Googled Mann's Crawdad, and found a few very similar. Again, thanks alot, I appreciate the help.
  23. Great Story, and very familiar, my youngest (she is 14 now), always seems to beat Dad. Great times for sure!
  24. AWESOME FISH!! They sure are a healthy bunch!! Great Job!!
  25. HAHAHA, No parting of the creek on my part, thats for sure ;D As for giving up my spot, Marshall County is a big place, I aint that easy Just kiddin, if someone else can enjoy that spot it, then by all means do so. Thanks again everyone!! Great bunch on these boards.
