First day out today. Took the neighbors new jon boat. Did pretty good. A few got off at the boat, and one got off the stringer somehow. All stocked fish and all caught on Joe's Flies. Pic is not very good. Lotta glare marks. It was something to do, and had fun, but I am still going nuts waitin on bass! ;D

Yea, I figure it will be 2 weeks if the nights stay kinda warm. I am just gettin a little antsy I guess. ;D

Should be getting close to Morel season. My wife and I just started last year, but we did pretty well for a couple of rookies. I may have to hit the woods this weekend to see whats going on so far ;D

Miller High Life in a bottle with salt. GOOD STUFF 8-) I was watching a beer show on History or Discovery channel the other day. I did not know that Bud Lite has less alcohol than Budweiser. I knew it has less calories, but they said in certain States that Bud Lite has nearly 1 percent less alcohol than Budweiser. No wonder I like heavy beer! ;D

Its going to take time for her to get the hang of stock cars. She has natural driving ability and plenty of money so thats two good things right off the bat. Stock cars are a whole different animal than Indy cars, but I think she will get the hang of it. IMO she will need many more ARCA races and at least 3 full Nationwide seasons before she is even close to being ready to run with the big boys. I hope she sticks with it. I think she could do quite well in 4 or 5 years. Who knows, she may run stock cars for a while then go back to Indy cars and win a Championship. I wish her well in whatever she decides to do.

I wear the same underwear from April till October. For some reason I seem to catch alot of catfish toward the end of May. ;D

Yea, I was thinking they have been used for years, so I guess they are no secret. Personally, I have never had much luck with them, but you can bet I will give em another shot after watching those guys. I think I have only used the good ole chrome rattle traps, so i'll change it up a little and see if that helps. This new Rapala I bought is in Firetiger. It was the only color they had for the $2.79 price. I'll buy any color for less than 3 bucks. Just got back from Wally World. They have a few on the clearance rack. I picked up a Rapala MR-9 in Bleeding Pearl for $4.50. Regular price was $7.36. I really like Rapala lures, but my goodness the price keeps going up and up. Oh well, I wanna play, so I guess I gotta pay. ;D Its really hard for me to walk away from a clearance rack!

Ya think folks will be running out to purchase lipless cranks due to what they saw at the Classic? It was pretty much a giant advertisement for lipless crankbaits, and I would think since they were shown on such a big stage that the manufactures of lipless baits would be lovin it. The Classic has got to be good for business. I picked up a Rapala RNR-4 on sale last week for $2.79. Went back to the same store yesterday and the same bait was $6.19 ;D

My goal is an 8 pounder but I would not be at all upset with a 7. I know they are there, its just up to me and a little luck. I got my digi scale, my tape measure, and my camera all ready to go. Im going to hit the strip pits in Ohio hard this year and hope I get lucky enough to get a replica for the wall.

I can't remember ever getting angry while fishing. I enjoy it too much to get angry. I call the fish a few names every now and then (in good fun), but im not mad. I have a cousin that used to get absolutely furious when fishing. I used to dread him tagging along. He would throw stuff, curse, scream, and complain ALL DAY long. Needless to say, I have not fished with him in over 20 years, and I do not miss it one bit! Relax, and enjoy the great outdoors. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. 8-)

My PB (8 LB) weighed on a digi, was caught in a pond probably smaller than a half acre. The pond was completely covered in moss, and we were not even going to try it, but im glad we did. I threw a Mann's Hard Nose Lizard and just dragged it across the moss. Second throw, WHAM!!! Scared the heck out of me ;D Thank goodness my crazy buddy was with me, he went in the pond after it, as there was no way I could get it in with all that moss. We released her, and I was a happy camper!

For sure, thats a Drum. They get HUGE around here on the Ohio River, and the things will eat anything! Fun to catch though.

I have been checked a few times, but I always buy West Virginia as well as an Ohio license, so I'm good. I once had a Game Warden walk me to my truck, as I forgot to take them with me. He was nice about it, but told me to always keep them on me, or risk the fine. Our Game Wardens are VERY strict, and I am glad they are.

Hi Dink, This is a place called Egypt Valley Wildlife Area in Ohio. (Between Columbus Ohio, and Wheeling West Virginia on I-70) The entire Egypt Valley area is about 17,000 acres of public hunting and fishing. Hundreds of Strip pits and ponds. The good ones are off the beaten path, and can be quite a hike to get to. We find different ponds and pits all the time. How we have never found this place before is beyond me. Just took a left, when we normally take a right, and ran into this ;D I actually know a guy that would fly people over the area in his plane just to locate pits and ponds. He doesn't fly anymore, or I would be on the next flight ;D OMG, i almost fell out when i saw this! Not sure if you can fish it, you kiddin me a man!?! That is flippin' stick heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is this at?
