Hello, my name is Matthew and I am going to be running a Snakehead Tournament in October for Breast Cancer Awareness. I am reaching out to local businesses around here for donations of things to raffle off after the tournament. Theres no money going into the tournament, since its non-profit, so everything needs to be donated. I figured I would put the word out here as well and see what responses I might get. Its usually a planned attack. Im actually planning on getting my hands on a Chronarch 50E sometime soon to mount to my Sellus rod. Otherwise its lures and line when needed.

Shimano has that Sellus series. They are great rods for the $.

65# Spiderwire, Palomar knot, and BPS EWG Magna Hooks. No problems.

I have a Sellus Worm/Jig that I used on my 50E, they are great rods for the $. It was a little too stiff for the light lures I use the 50 for, so I got a Carus rod in M for it instead. Im going to save for a Chronarch 50E and put heavier line on it.

I posted this in the Tournament section, but not too many responses, so try it here. A friend on mines mother is a breast cancer survivor, and she wants to do something in the month of October to raise some money for a local breast cancer charity. I suggested a fishing tournament. So we are going to organize a tournament on a Saturday, as long as we can get enough people that would be interested in fishing it. We are going to have trophys, prizes, raffle, and a donation for a good cause.

Working on it. My Revo SX is matched to a Vendetta. My Curado 50E is on a Clarus. My Pro Qualifier is on a Enigma rod. Ive got a worm and jig Sellus for a Chronarch 50E hopefully in my future. Hopefully a Sellus Flipping or Frogging rod for my Curado 200E.

Here is a thought, forget the mono vs fluoro, and go get some YoZuri Hybrid line. You wont have to worry anymore, and its soo much better!

I use 65# Spiderwire Stealth, never had a problem with the OG of the braids.

To all you local anglers that have participated in the Snakehead Roundups and Bass Tourneys in the local area, I am looking to put together a tournament in October for Breast Cancer Awareness. A good friend of mine whose mother is a survivor, was trying to think of something to do for a local charity towards it. I responded to her with the possibility of organizing this event. I know how the Snakehead tournaments are done, and was thinking of doing one for a good cause, both for the environment and to donate to charity. I am going to PM Capt Shane and see what he thinks, and maybe get some advice. My friend is the Manager of a local bar, who will have the trophys given there, and raffles, etc. There is plenty of parking area for boats and trailers for those who will be using them. I figured we can do walking, boating, anything goes. No limit to the area, just be back to weigh in at the designated time. Anybody who would be interested in doing this, please respond to this topic. If I can get enough people interested, that will help to make this a good event. I will work on talking to companies to donate for raffles, etc. I want to make this a good way for the fishing community to have fun and do a good contribution to a great cause. Also, while at the bar, the cook is amazing, and he wants to do a special fish fry with the Snakeheads. Im gonna bring him a few later this week so he can get some ideas.
