Like the US pilots, boat captains, customs workers, truck drivers, and retail workers, that source and sell stuff from overseas? It doesn't matter where it comes from. If it gets to your doorstep, several American jobs got it there.

Invizx is limp for a fluorocarbon, but still stiffer than most copoly and nylon lines. KVD would help it lay down some. Also super important to make sure it's spooled on in the right direction. I've been using 8lb for years and don't remember ever having any issues. If it does get a little twisted from a particular lure, I'll tie on a 3/8oz sinker and cast it into orbit, then reel it back in. Usually gets the twist out.

ALX Ikos blanks are made overseas. Only the Zolo and Enox are USA.

That's true. I've seen good reviews for the Deez and NEO stuff overseas. Japan prices seem to be more reasonable across all the companies though. I have seen the MGXtreme reels under $300 from Japan. Much better value vs performance when it's 30-40% cheaper.

Lightning rod, for sure. Honorable mention for the Fenwick Eagle. Don't know about stock though since there's a new Eagle for 2020.

Has the lesser magforce system. Assuming it's the replacement for the Fuego...which sucks. If it's more than like $79.99 then they really dropped the ball.

I recommend Assassin or Invizx for most people that want to start using fluoro. Still need a good wet knot, but it handles really well and casts well. If you have good success and want to upgrade later on, you can get Shooter or something a little pricier. Either way, even if you decide you don't care for the full spool, you can use it for leaders.

I own 3 Tatula rods. If they had split grips I'd own 0.

It has the same recessed dial on the sideplate as the Steez A. The A and Tatula 100 are the same platform, aside from that sideplate. That's what the Zillion SV 10 is. Just sucks it's only available in the high ratio. The new products are pretty uneventful from the videos I saw. Kage MQ and BG MQ are mildly interesting, as I really liked the BG and Tatula LT. Tatula 300 does nothing for me.

I haven't used the XT, but I've not been a big fan of the SVS Infinity system thus far. High maintenance and finicky on every reel I've owned. The vbs system was as close as it gets to set and forget.

That's my fear with any Pure Fishing product. I don't know what makes it "ultra premium." If lightweight and magnesium is all they've got, I can get that on a Cadence reel for $100. I do like that they're at least experimenting with something out of the ordinary. Curious how small the gears are in order to streamline the gearbox that much.

Can't imagine spending $500 on anything Abu, but this is at least interesting. Very rare you see something that is actually new.

That Tatula Elite 7'1" MH spinning rod would be excellent for the jigs and swimbaits.

I think snags are inevitable with a big treble hook, but it hasn't been too bad. I'll catch rocks occasionally if I'm near a drop off or something and depths change quickly. I use a Champion SB 795. Think it's rated 1-5oz, if I remember right.

I use a Dobyns swimbait rod. Most of my 6" spoons are 2oz or more, so it takes a pretty heavy rod. I don't worry a whole lot about tip action, because they usually hit on the fall, or I jig them vertically. I don't know how others use them, but I've caught a lot of fish, of all species.

Core 50mg7 is over 10 years old and still better than 90% of the light reels made today. The OG Steez reels are still just as good as anything made today. TD Sol and Fuego still get it done. Old Curados. There's a lot of really great reels that will fish as well or better than new stuff in any application.

Sweet! Talking about tackle online is okay, but putting it in action is what it's all about.

I've found the Curado DC to be very average with baits 1/4oz or below, but I don't think that was its intended use. The right rod is probably equally as important as lighter line, if you want to get decent results.

I think Shimano's "hagane concept" was taken from the literal translation, in that they're trying to make their reels as strong as steel.
