  1. Your inbox is full, I can help you with a logo design. I have a B.S. in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia & I've been working in the print design field for over 7 years. PM me & we can discuss further.
  2. Fishes in trees- It's in perfect condition, I doubt its ever been used. There are no nicks or scratches on the props or wear on the G finish. If that's the case then that torpedo is going in the "Eyes Only" box! Thanks for the info!! I also have a Spittin Image walk the dog that I traded a guy for a spinnerbait years ago, I haven't used it because it looks like it could be worth some money, its got a "Red Devil" pattern with realistic scales. It also has a signature on it, I forget whose, but ill take a photo of it & post it. Now that I think about it I'm gonna start a thread about collectors lures.
  3. Hey loop, yes that is a Jitterbug. I'm very curious to see the action it has on the water, its segmented more like a jerkbait or swimbait, its got a really natural dark sunfish pattern too. (perfect for the waters around here)
  4. Also I started picking apart the soft plastics that were given to me & there are some really cool baits. I found a bunch of old unopened bags of powerbait lizards, worms, and craws, all with the old scent formula. I'm curious to see whether the old scent is more effective seeing as how it will be new to the fish. I also scored a bunch of hand poured worms and french fries in colors that work in this area.
  5. These are the hard lures that were given to me. I dont think they're worth anything, actually some of them are newer, but I appreciate them just the same. I was also given tons of soft plastics, jigs, skirts, blades, big trolling spoons, and a couple spinners & buzzbaits. I'm anxious to try the yellow cranks, they're hand carved from cedar. Also I really like the Baby Torpedo, it has a reflective layer that I think will be great at night. As the season gets underway ill be testing out the different lures and I'll post what I catch fish on.
  6. I do a ton of bank fishing in the dark during late summer, black & blue Chatterbaits, single colorado blade spinnerbaits, jitterbugs, & dark colored soft plastics have all produced some big bass for me.
  7. If the Senko is what they want, then give it to em, it may get boring fishing the same lure after a while, but its never boring catching fish! Right now most of our lakes up here are either frozen over, or still too cold to catch anything out of. Use this time to master the Senko until the fish start hitting other lures.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm planning a trip down to Palm Beach/West Palm Beach County the first week of April. Im going to be visiting family and doing as much fishing as possible. I'll be staying with relatives that live in Wellington and visiting the Delran area. I've been studying the area on Google Earth and I see that Wellington is surrounded by a lake, but there are tons of other smaller ponds and lakes in the area as well. I'll probably be doing most of my fishing from the banks, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any good places to fish for LMB in that area. Also what types of lures would work best for that time of year in central Florida?
  9. X2...I use the $40 7'M casting Lightning rod for walking spooks & sammys. It wont last too long though, as the cork tends to crack on the reel seat. Its designed so that instead of screwing the reel downwards to secure it onto the rod, its the opposite, you twist the cork handle upwards. I have no idea why they designed it like this, otherwise it would be a great topwater rod for the price.
  10. I understand how you feel, my Mother just finished Chemo and is starting radiation for stage 4 breast cancer. Your Father will be ok, he's very lucky they caught it in the early stages, that makes a huge difference. As far as his confidence level goes, this is a hard thing for anyone to process. Thats exactly why you have to pull together as a family and stay positive for him, this is the time when he needs you the most. My prayers are with you and your family Teal. Christian
  11. ClackerBuzz- I use that technique whenever a fish swallows the hook & I can't count how many fish/hooks I've saved. It takes a little practice but it works everytime!
  12. Nitrofreak- thanks for the encouragement! This is the first winter that I've actually taken time to practice flipping/pitching in my backyard.
  13. A few seasons ago I bought some premier pro spinnerbaits & the eyes kept falling off (nothing a drop of crazy glue would'nt fix) but I also bought a couple that were missing one eye right out of the package. I wrote to SK about it & they ended up sending me 2 of every color in the Premier Pro series, a couple burners, 2 hats, and a catalogue! If I remember correctly I went on the website and just wrote to the HR department. it took a while but it was worthit when that box showed up on my doorstep!
  14. If Im not mistaken, inside of the grip is EVA Foam (which is supposed to be really strong) wrapped in Neoprene. I've been using mine consistantly for over 2 years and I haven't had ANY problems with the handle. I actually prefer the neoprene wrap to traditional cork. it grips like rubber when its wet, and the neoprene is manufactured hard enough so that hooks don't penetrate it. The polished steel guides are very small, but from what I've read & experienced, they are designed to give you more casting distance. The smaller diameter guides reduce the amount of loop as the line leaves the reel. Hey thehooligan, is that lake Audrey you're on??
  15. I own a 7'1" MH Rage Rod (casting) and I absolutely love it. When I leave the boat at home & go fishing from the banks this is one of the two rods I carry. I've used it to fish Senkos, Jigs, Spinnerbaits, Rattletraps, & Cranks. I really enjoy fishing weightless 5" senkos and 1/4 oz Bitsy Bug jigs with it mainly because of its extreme sensitivity. At first I was a little skeptical about the durability of the foam handle wrapped in neoprene, but its definitely proven itself. During late fall of 2011 I caught my PB (6.5) using my Rage Rod. I plan on buying a couple more this season. IMHO, well worth the $160!
  16. I agree with the posts above. My first combo was a $25, 2-piece Shimano rod & reel (7'MH XF) which I purchased on sale & used to learn the basics. Now I fish local tournaments & have a respectable collection of tackle, both spinning & casting. I still have that first combo. I keep it in my boat as a loaner when I bring friends along that are learning to fish. My point is you don't have to break the bank to get a decent combo, but IMHO, go with a spinning setup, it will serve you better in the long run.
  17. Awesome shots, excellent lighting & depth of shot, what kind of camera/lens were you using?
  18. I really like Rapalas Flat Rap crankbaits, the Yellow Perch pattern has produced some good bass for me over the years.
  19. I go texas rigged 90% of the time, when the bass are just grabbing the tail ill go to a wacky rig w/an O-ring
  20. I like to use Spiderwire but I hear ya. I always make sure I have my sunglasses on and I try my best to angle the bait away from me when it snags.
  21. If you go to www.tinboats.net you will find some EXCELLENT examples of jon boat conversions, as well as all the information you will need in regards to how to create a safe, stable deck for your jon boat.
  22. NICE!! The EPA has rated Ouachita one of the cleanest lakes in the nation for years due to the fact that there is no industry surrounding it. I wish I was fishing there this wekend! Good Luck & be patient, definitely work that Jig nice n sloooow.
  23. I do really well with live target LMB jerkbaits in the spring. When its really early in the spring I like to carolina rig 3" powerbait lifelikes
