  2. A small, usually pretty visible bait. I don't think color is much of an issue for the bass, you just want to be able to see the bait when a fish noses up to it. Smaller sizes for the reason that sometimes the bass will only try to move the bait by picking it up by the tail.. -so you want to increase your odds of the part being picked up has a hook in it.
  3. That's exactly what I do, word for word. lol
  4. Get the Falcon Bucoo rod because I want one, and you can fish it for me. lol jk. The Veritas would compliment it since it is Abu Garcia, and white. Decisions, decisions..
  5. There you go, some of best fishing in my opinion.
  6. I got one I think is pretty good. I'm not great at stories because I like to get to the point, but here it goes. It's the story of the biggest bass I've ever seen. Me and a buddy of mine would spend a lot of time looking for new fishing holes, mostly ponds really. That's where the biggest, easiest fish to catch are. Anyways, we got to this small lake, or pond depending on your standards. Picture two or three football fields long and maybe two wide. So we unload the canoe and fish. Caught several good ones, 5 pounders, a mudfish- after about 25 mins in. I happened to be paddling, AND up front so I was catching all the good ones too lol. So once we pretty much circled the lake, my friend was complaining that I was catching everything. Then we get to trash talking eachother like usual, etc. So I said "here, you paddle then", tossed him the paddle and proceed to go over back over the area. Not even 2 minutes after I handed over the paddle, some schooling fish jumped near the boat, towards the end I wasn't on. My buddy casted to it. I said "you aint gonna catch nothing". He hooks up, claims that it's a nice one. I said "IT'S A DINK". lol Then the fish surfaced, and I said "HOLY (expletive deleted)", looked like a golaith grouper to me. It was a 13.5 pounder. Till this day, I still never hear the end of that story. lol
  7. You're welcome. Maybe if you're not getting hits on what you are already using, change colors. Can't go wrong with natural colors. The more blended in the bait is, the better.
  8. Sweet historical facts.
  9. lol I'm kidding. That's an interesting topic, though. The only thing I can think of is how deep do you plan on getting a suspending lure on one cast in order for it to start sinking or floating?. Will it start floating more due to the pressure? Or sink better?
  10. Fluorocarbon and finesse worms. Weightless stick worms. You just got to keep trying things out. Probably find one that you can see settled or w/e, and just cast or pitch all kinds of things at it. vary your presentation, jerk it by fast, let it sit in the fish's face, etc. TRY STUFF OUT, otherwise you'll never know.
  11. Paint you skeptical? Allow me to paint you a picture lol. The guides sit real close to the blank, all of them do. Not just the tip and 1 or 2 guides down. -That's my painting lol. The only real way for you to see for yourself is by trying a friend's out, or maybe one that's spooled up in a store. OTHER than that though, I believe it's probably a preference thing to have micro guides or not. I do not own one, just used my friends for a day or two. Will I get one, one day? hmm probably not, especially if a rod I want doesn't have that option.
  12. What the local people are using and sometimes what the pros have won or done good on (consistently) in tournaments that aren't too far from home, that I've read in Bassmaster magazine.
  13. Miami is like another country connected to Florida/U.S. It's very cultural there lol.
  14. lol that's all I see this guy doing-- Trying to sell stuff. Don't matter if it's the best buzzbait in the world, you aint gonna catch fish if you don't know how to use it. The man who posted this topic wanted advice, not someone trying to hustle him. As far as I'm concerned, any buzzbait I use is the best in the world.
  15. It's because the guides are so close to the rod, it's almost like the line is part of the rod. If that makes any sense.
  16. Not sure if mentioned, micro guides bring increased sensitivity as well. There's an advantage.
  17. Darn! That would have been epic to go and see an event like that. :/
  18. lol Awesome. I love catching them when you can. Some places they'll become conditioned to people feeding them bread. The rest is history.
  19. Put EWG hooks on it. Replace feathered treble with a non feathered one for a smaller profile if you want.
  20. Rock Chalk, you attending the Classic?
  21. LOL Is it a coincidence that the biggest one I caught (40 pounds) was also on a lipless crankbait? Snagged it on the tail, but I just wanted my lure back, which I got 10 minutes later when the fish tired out.
