  1. I had mojo bass I hated it, it was heavy and non sensitive, I know the big crankster model is super heavy I was considery: dobyns savvy, duckett and an 8' powell endurance, I really prefer micro guides for cranking
  2. NNeed some reccomendations limit is 170$
  3. Yeah guys I'm torn between 3 now, 200e7, premier 6.4:1, or Zillion 7.1:1? I can get any of them, I have 4 curado E's and I know they excellent, if i compensated and got the curado I could probably get more jerkbaits, hudds, and topwater baits like I want to get. *quote me if you reply
  4. I fill the entire thing and use line conditioner it will last you a whole season if you have line conditioner handy at all times.
  5. I think a 6'9" duckett med heavy "fast" is going to be most ideal after looking into it, it has a fairly soft tip too, I may get a 7' MH thought.
  6. Already got a Premier from that debat hooligan, looks like a relapse. lol, I'm leaning toward getting the exo, but I will probably just get both haha.
  7. Debating these reels, I have a premier already thinking abouyt getting another one, or even a premier and also an exo. I was liking the 200G, lots of people say negative things about it, but its a great compact reel, will be use for top water, jerkbaits, sq bills and traps.
  8. 30# has 8# mono equiv, sounds good to me, I will just buy a spool of some other monos (12# for smaller spooks, etc and 15# for punkers etc)
  9. Lol I have always called it a plunker, thought it sounded better..
  10. I will be throwing 80# braid on my alabama rig setup... What is the name of the wooden plunkers?
  11. I will be fishing this rod with alot of jerkbaits, top water, and some blade baits, and red eye shad in 1.2 oz. I'm thinking length between 6'9"-7' I dont want to go over 7' because then I will start hitting the water with the rod tip.. I was looking at a 6'9" duckett or a 7' med. or even 7' med heavy. I want the rod to have micro guides, I was looking at ducketts because they are excellent for crankbaits, with great action. Any suggestions?
  12. I would use a 12# copolmer leader with a size 14 or 16 swivel.
  13. could i leader it with a swivel, because I hate tying knots, I was hoping I wouldnt even need a leader.
  14. I will be throwing gunfish, pop-r's, spook jr's and lunker plunkers. Is 30# braid without a leader ideal? wondering if the fish will see it or not? because it's on topwater, I am used to useing flouro or copolymer line for topwater, so i dont know? Thanks!
  15. I have my setup for it. 8' Extra-Extra heavy carrot stix gold (rated for 2-5oz.) , shimano curado 200e7 or 300e(don't know which one im going to use yet) and 80lb powerpro spectra. I will be using 3.5-4.5 shadalicious swimbaits from strike king and other companys. Also for shallow water 1/8 oz jig heads(1.5-3.5ft.). medium depth 3/16 oz jigheads (4ft-6ft), deep 1/4-3/8oz jig heads ( 7 ft.-11ft), deep-deep (12ft+) 1/2 oz jigheads. Of course thats a rough scale of what to throw it with, and as far as braided line goes, I don't see a flouro/co poly line being out of the picture. The reason braid is because of the simple fact that it comes with higher strength at i lower diameter. Swimbaits and grubs work well. I wouldnt use much anything else. Hope this helped!! [i would also get a heavier rod if i were you 7'6"+ and HEAVY action swinging the a-rig with your rod you mention will do a number on it.] Let me know if this helped.
  16. I may put some crappy 20# mono backing on it then respool and throw the left overs away, will the 20# mono prevent digging a great amount?
  17. BECUASE STRAIGHT FLOURO NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH!!!!! BRAID WILL LAST AN ENTIRE SEASON!!! ITS A FRACTION OF THE PRICE.... OR COURSE I WOULD RATHER USE STRAIGHT FLOURO BUT PAYING THE PRICES WITHOUT A SPONSOR AT THE MOMENT IS RIDICULOUS COST.
  18. ABU GARCIA REVO PREMIER!!! (i also own curados theyre amazing reels[better than a premier being half the price thats for shure]...the premier is a better reel than the curado but of course it is 2 times the price!)
  19. much more sensitive and never gains memory, lasts forever compared to flour and mono lines
  20. Its 30 lb test with 8# mono equiv. it shouldnt dig that bad..
  21. I will be tying 30# braid to a 12# flouro leader I think it should pass through the guides with ease, if not I will just take the braid off and spool it all flouro. thanks
