  1. Steve, you are awesome....You should have your own TV show!!!
  2. Went out a few times the past few days...Once w/ JF1(that's what the first 4 pix are from) and another with JayDBee(we got skunked for the first time this year...happens to the best of us!!)....Yesterday went out w/ my friend Brad...Hit a few fish, mainly on Rattle Traps,Cranks, and Jerkbaits and other "cold water" fishing lures.....Water temp was 67.....Here's a few.....Will be out there again this weekend....working like a dog last few weeks.....Thanks for looking SNOT ROCKET! Humpback of Notre Dame Perch Dan w/ a nice Sammy Hagar Dan made friends w/ this mutated duck the past few times and now feed it after every trip..... Yesterday w/ Brad.... Bonus shot my friend took of me entitled "Hillbilly Handfishing!!"
  3. Got up nice and early today and made breakfast for Debi and myself(egg white omelette w/ onions, broccoli and chanterelle and crimini mushrooms and a side of Linguisa sausage!!), had to get out and fish a little after a letdown yesterday morning where I go stood up(if that's a good way to say it)).......Hit the lake about 6:15 to a majestic sunrise....What a way to get up!!!......Wasn't too thrilled w/ certain rod/reel combos last few times I've been out so I switched it up a bit for the better and on my Legend Elite 6'6" Medium Fast I switched my Quantum Pti20b for my lighter Smoke25 reel and what a difference it makes.....Now that will be one of my crankin' setups and can't wait to slam some fall Smallies later this week on that setup......So back to today, I nailed my first fish on PowerTeam Lures Hammer Shad in Pearl on a dropshot rig short time after I got out.. ....She went 4.2 and 18.5 inches....The pic does not do the fish justice\.....Seven minutes(exactly!!!) later got her smaller brother clocking in at 2.5.....not a sniff after that so I packed it up and did the walk of shame back to the car...lol......Now time to visit Mom w/ Debi and enjoy what's left of the weekend!!!
  4. Well, the weatherman can go suck a big one, because they are never right with their "predictions"..... ...we were getting phonecalls about tornadoes overturning cars in Brooklyn, heavy rains in Queens,50 mile and hour winds in central NJ.........No hurricanes, tornadoes, rain, downpours, etc. at all..the worst thing we encountered today was some strong winds, slight drizzle(if you call it that) and some healthy fish... not enough to stop the Bass Assassins from getting some fatties today.....PowerTeam Lures Hammer Shad did it for me today while Dan killed em one after another all morning on crankbaits(4 fish in 5 casts!!!)...I even got him smiling for the pictures!!!!........A great fall feel with the nice cool winds and trees starting to change slight color and fish were definately aggressive.......All hits felt like a freight train and a good sign of what's about to come in the fall.......Until tomorrow morning..... Here's some bonus pictures from this morning's outing after yesterdays storm....We hit the reservoir early and it was back to school.....Schooling Bass , that is....We hit a hungry school of Smallmouth that it was one after the other after the other and then it stopped all of a sudden....I didn't even care about taking pix, I just wanted to keep catching more and more fish...Ended up w/ 14 between Dan and I....Fall fishing shaping up quite nicely so far....and the best is yet to come!!!
  5. Excellent video!!!
  6. Me and Dan decided to have a little blowout because summer is coming to an end so what better way to do it then to have a little party on the lake....Luckily for us, Sammy Hagar and his family showed up en force!!!.....We kicked it off at 5:45 am and it lasted until 12:30pm.....Between the two of us we got 15 Sammies all over 2.5 pounds and even Larry made a quick appearance(but he showed up alone)......Weather was fishing perfect, cloudy, cool, a little bit of drizzle/rain early on, but that didn't stop the fun.....Here's a few of the fun and games....Dan's biggest was 4.2 and mine was 3.8.....All the others were nice and fat, healthy fish that by the looks of them have been chowing down good.....Fall fishing frenzy will be here soon enough and cannot wait to see what happens then.....To all our Bassin friends....Have a Happy and Safe Labor Day, Don't Drink and Drive, and Buckle Up before you head home....Mitch and Dan!!
  7. It's easier than you may pre-think....Do as above...I bump the bottom with a slow reel to keep the line taught and you will feel weight on the end of your line, lift the rod tip as the fish usually hooks itself by then....Some of my biggest fish have been caught using the d/s technique.....It works esp. during the dog days of summer when fish are deeper and don't want to use energy chasing a crank or other faSTER moving baits...Good luck!!!
  8. Thanks AK....FISH on!!!
  9. Very nice pix and story!!!....Thumbs up bro!!!....Congrats on the new PB!
  10. Hit the lake today w/ Brad and we did pretty good despite fishing noon until early evening....Ended up w/ 5 LMB, 3 SMB and Brad got 4 Walleye but they were all like 14".....Here's a few pix.....Anyone else see the shark in the cloud shape?....Pretty cool!!!
  11. Hit one of our spots this morning super early and looked great from the start......Weather was perfect, water temp. was down a few degrees, supposed to be cloudy all day today.......second cast I nail a 5# Mr. Waldo the Walleye......Fought like a wet towel but very cool and I guess unexpected...got another one a few minutes later on the way to spot #2.....continued to another spot and Larry showed his face.......Dan had a bit of a dry spell today and the bite was a bit tough once the lights came on bright......one of his better one's is below.....I also nailed a nice Sammy Hagar but he came unbuttoned at the boat.....All in all we got about 25 total but besides these pix, most were not keepers, let alone over 10"!!!.....All the kids were in the playground today but no mom's or slobs behind them keeping guard...Got back to the launch and it looked like Mr. Bear was around while we were out there......Here's a few pix.....Have a nice weekend Bonus pix: Mr Bear's fresh prints in the mud:
  12. Way to beat the heat in August...Steve, are they all pigs where you fish?...lol....Thumbs up again!!!
  13. Thanks AK...we do pretty well......we try at least!!
  14. With the threat of Severe Thunderstorms, me and Dan said we better get out there nice and early and fish while we can......Started out on a jig and picked off a few dinks and small rockbass ....Nothing on topwater until Dan nailed a nice 3# Sammy....... we were both slamming dink after dink until I finally evened the score with a 3.5 of my own that smashed a spinnerbait in 2 feet of water......we ended up with a bunch of fish between 1 and 3.5....great to be out after 5 days all work and no play......Here's a few to prove it really happenned...Have a great weekend everyone!!
  15. Oink Oink.....What a pig!!.....Nice!!!
  16. Drop Shot Rules!!!!,,,,My fav. way to catch fish all year long!!
  17. Got my new Power Team Lures Hammer Shads in Pearl in the mail yesterday and as I predicted on my fb acct to PTL, the fish were going to destroy this morning.....Me and Jaydbee hit the sheds this morning and drop shot was the ticket all morning.........I ended up geting a bit excited and losing 2 MONSTERS right at the boat that were at least 4+.....Landed this 4.1 fat Smallmouth below.....I switched around a few rod/reel combos out of curiosity late last night(definately for the better) even though I lost real nice fish crane hoisting them in the boat.....However we ended up with 16 between the both of us ........Missed a Muskie as he cut my line in one smooth swipe at my spinnerbait........Another day in the life......Here's a few:
  18. Nice Slob Matt......great putting him on the fish Steve!!!
  19. We hit the water and even though fishing was slow, we managed a few nice ones...I ended up w/ 4 SMB and once again, Dan got the biggest......No surprise.....Weatherman was once again WRONG, didn't stop us from getting out there.......Here's a few to prove it happenned: (I'm gonna post a few more pix as soon as they arrive at my email) 4.75 Another view:
  20. Excellent post all around!!!
  21. WOW!!...Nice Pigs!!!
  22. Hey Swight.....We don't keep anything(except the Walleye I caught the other day) but compared to how we usually do, it was a dead dog day........The cold front and rain the past few days we have had put the fish on lockdown......Should be better later this week...Thanks
  23. It was a rough hit today....not much to show except a bakers dozen between us both...how did everyone else do today?....Here's a few: Bonus Sunrise pix...Beautiful!!
  24. Well, this report is special even though there are no slobs to report.....However, we hit the lake early in the morning, and it rained for the 5 hours straight the whole time we fished.....Totally soaked after 20 minutes but the fish were biting so we toughed it out and I managed 2 Walleye, 1 Larry and @ 15 Sammy's in the boat.......Now be patient here about this....My wife HATES fish and she has never eaten anything more than shrimp and for a very long time I have been trying and trying to have her even taste anything fishy with no chance of that being possible ever....So I brought home some Walleye and deep fried it and begged her to just try it and trust me on my life...................Without missing a step she grabbed a piece and ate it and I waited, and waited for her response and...........SHE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!.....This is truly a miracle in our household......She wants me to bring home walleye everytime I catch some(which is not a problem for me as I love the taste of it)........I'm still in shock.....Anyway, thanks for reading and here's just a few from the morning to prove I was out there in the rain!! The Miracle picture!!!
