  1. Me and JF1 hit our place again this morning...d**n, it's good to be off Wednesdays every week....and somehow we just knew it was gonna be a decent day...On the way there we spotted deer, alot of turkeys and get this, a boar....yeah one of those wild pigs with the tusks and all....very cool.....and Bon Jovi was playing "Let it Rock" on the radio .....well we rocked em today.....caught alot of cookie cutter 1.5 - 2 pounders(prob close to 40 between the two of us) AND a few nice ones to boot......both of us lost nice slobs at the boat: Me, a nice 4+ smallie and Dan, a nice 4+ Largemouth......but we made up for it ....most fish on topwater and tubes and a few on cranks and Power team Lures Hammer Shads...we each did pretty good despite some technical issues I had with my reels......All in all a GREAT day to be alive and fishing...Here's some of the better ones......
  2. Nice way to kick off the season.....great job!!
  3. WOW!!!...Nice DONKEY!
  4. Well spent the day on the water with fellow Bassnj member JF1 and I was schooled in catching bass on tubes which I really never got into ....Seeing is believeing and, well, Dan kicked my **** by about 20 fish and nice keepers at that.....the bigger fish liked his setup better than mine today......we ended up with over 60 fish between us which was nice but mainly alot of smaller under 14"fish...no crankbait hits still and only one on a spinnerbait....strange for this time of year IMO.......Dan nailed a nice bronze 4.2 pounds and about 10 over 3.....AND he got the biggest Crappie I ever saw....est. wt. was 2+ pounds...this thing was a monster and bigger than most of the bass we got today......fish that made cameos were Yellow Perch and Rocky Balboas.....surprisingly no snot rockets today........between us we got tons and tons of bass to 2 pounds and a few nicer ones to boot mainly on tubes,Power Team Lures Hammer Shads and keitech's.....here's a few of the better ones(mainly Dan's)....He's a great fisherman and it was great to learn something new today....thanks buddy!!..... Bonus videos:(click to play)

  7. I can't get enough fish and having fun....One fish is not enough....lol....Hit a local puff after work today again and had a field day on jig/craw combo......wind and cold killed yesterday's topwater bite....tried cranks, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits but they wanted no part of any of that stuff.....so back to square one.....jigs jigs and jig / craw,,,,Biggest 4.1....smallest 2.5 Here's some of the fun:
  8. Fish love this.....they think it's a woulded baitfish, crayfish......works all the time.....
  9. Nice fat bronze!!!
  10. Great videos!!
  11. Right from my very first cast we started nailing them....Got everything from LM,SM, Crappies,Perch, Sunnies and of course Pickerel.........Power Team Lures were the ticket for me.....Hammer Shads have been my bait of choice this year and they seem to be working well(I'm not promoting anything, just saying what is working for me).....nothing else compares to these great baits........I Nailed 17 Bass(4.2 largest), 30 slab Crappies, a few nice pickerel(one had something in his stomach, a few perch and a HUGE sunny(on a jig/plastic!!)....got every species in the lake today....his stomach was swollen and hard like a turtle's shell)....JF1 is an excellent fisherman and a great partner......he got about 15 bass(including a 3 pound smallmouth and a few 3 pound Largemouths) and 15 crappies and some nice fat pickerel.. ....he even caught the same pickerel twice 3 hours apart!!!!( we know because his gills were hanging out)....here's a recap of the fun......FISH ALWAYS ON!!!

  15. Went out with my new fishing partner Firewater to a little place we both like and proceeded to rip the place apart from the get go.....It was a Crappie day!!!!(literally)....We got approx. 70 between the two of us(maybe even more...it was off the hook).....I landed about 20 Largemouth, 5 Smallies and a bunch of Pickerel.....AND 2 Bonus Slob Largemouth.....Finally got my 5.2 pounder this year so I am on board and also a 4.5 LMB....Firewater kicked the crap out of the Crappies also and many Largemouth and Smallmouth as well(we never found a pattern on the bass.....we caught throughout the day but nothing too consistent....most fish on swimbaits/jigs/jerkbaits......All in all we had a great day(So much for the rain they predicted) on the water.......It's all good....Here's a recap of the fun:
  16. Thanks Dwight for that informative tutorial....I'm gonna alter my presentation next time I go out(if the water is still in the 50's......I always like learning how to fish better and I've been doing it for 40 years plus....Thanks again!!!
