Clear vs Green
I use 4# & 60# Braided lines. My 4# breaks at about 12#. Any fish that bites on the 60 # does not care about line size or color. If you use MEAT ? Grappling hooks and dock lines are attacked.

Took reel apart for maintenance, now drag isn't working
I Did a lot of web searching on the stuff . It is used both dry & light grease. The grease allows cheaper poorer quality cloth to be used. Profits count.

Are You Fast or Sloooowwwww?
To me. Finding them is the goal. Anyone can then catch them. Stocked trout are positive proof of that.

How important is a supported pinion gear?
I believe that statement. TINY TEETH will wear out faster. No disagreement . Add in a floppy post and the wear out rate is dramatically increased. Add in bigger longer fighting fish ? Snaggy areas ? Then use a low pressure grease or oil ? The PSI pressure on those teeth could be unreal. Send the reel to the factory. They need the money. Why my 50 ? year old Mitchell's, are still on their first 10- 40W oiling. Pulling some pike & Salmon River salmon to me for a decade proves the design was correct. I have replaced bail springs several times. 4 # to 60 # lines have not worn out anything. The rotating bail casting even has a counterbalancing weight .

Clear vs Green
Put goggles on. Lay on the bottom. Clear sky. Look up at the line . Swim around the line looking at it. A fish should have excellent vision as it approaches the lure. Which color would you choose ? Same test on a white sandy bottom. Add in looking down on the line.

Rod balance
Having medium painful Arthritis with bad weather fronts 2 hours away. I have to use the way Tennessee Boy describes it. Bad weather is perch for senior friends. I stop at 5 for each friend. Great people.

Rod balance
I am old. So I cast easily in morning . By 4. I am Casting with 2 hands AND trolling the other rod. Where is our Everything in moderation person ?
-
Ultralight rods
With practice. I have learned to roll cast spinning lures. Quick snap of the wrist & let go. Good distance after a while.

Rod balance
Fishing does take more long lasting muscle than texting all day. I have seen a couple of people texting while fishing.

Rod balance
I can not believe that a company CAN NOT figure out the balance point during design & a prototype rod ????????? Good grief. Makes no difference if cork or molded plastic reel clamping action. Replace the constant Texting person designing the rod. Useless as they come

Rod balance
I am not that fussy about a slightly out of perfect balance set up. I use a huge old Mitchell 300 light saltwater spinning setup. It is FINE. Long casts & fantastic drag adjustment. Done I do have different spools with different line classes.

Rod balance
Some people use the word.... BALANCE .......when talking about the action of it. Not me. NO reel on the rod. There is 1 balance point. Period Most correctly sized reels WILL BALANCE at the same point.

What’s the strategy for fishing water that looks like chocolate milk?
Shoals & bridge supports in fast dark water. Or way up feeder streams.

How to kill yourself while wading alone. FACT !!
Thank you Mass Bass. I have not waded the Delaware River in decades. I never thought of the new dangers of wading with soft sneakers. or soft foot waders. Oh well I will stay in the boats.

What’s the strategy for fishing water that looks like chocolate milk?
High fast water jams all the fish to some FEEDING SPOTS.

Took reel apart for maintenance, now drag isn't working
Und vey getzum mit som wacko sequence. Yob sekurity. I am still learning that companies do not use the brightest light bulbs to write instruction booklets. Company is WRONG in their dehumidifier advice to stop icing with a fan.

most big bass caught during brightest part of day, 10am to 3pm? doug hannon video
Cold water temperatures & less strong sunlight at winter Solstice moves my fish to mid day feeding. Many local fish hang around a underground spring more often.

Took reel apart for maintenance, now drag isn't working
Why would grease or oil be put on the friction discs ? Normally friction surfaces are dry. Oil & grease defeat the friction action. I would call Technical Support of the company & ask for a E Mail describing the brake assembly & the Clutch Bearing assembly procedures.

Took reel apart for maintenance, now drag isn't working
I know this feeling very well. I bought 2 Ultra Light spinning reels. Did not check them as wife wanted to hold & wrap them. 1 is normal. Other is a not working correctly automatic closing Bail Arm mechanism. It is 1.5 years old in drawer. Took the bail system apart. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered a replacement bail spring. Finally got the right tension. Cut off a end coil & rebent the end hook. 1/2 hour of spring work and it operates better than the good reel. 2 ? total hours on the 1/8" diameter CURVED spring. 3 tiny hands should be supplied with the reel.

Flurocarbon knot failure
Almost every company MAKES all their lines to break at 2 X the label strength. DDUUUHHHH Why lines last so long if left in the sun every day ? ?
-
Diminishing returns.
A few of the fish have passed the the U S F & G self unhooking procedure when entering the boat. WE presented those with new coats. Made by Panko Bread Crumbs.

How important is a supported pinion gear?
I have NEVER SEEN IN PERSON a unsupported gear in anything mechanical in 60 years of machinery.

Tying Braid to a Spool
Always use a 1/2 Hitch on the end of any Braided Line. I figured that out after loosing 2 lures. It will stop the end on the spool from slipping apart
-
Diminishing returns.
I have sophisticated & up scale bass in my bay. Only the best can catch them. Some bass will jump into the boat on command !!
