  1. Ford. Unless of course you intend to start a junk yard then go Toyota. I use the Revo line of reels.
  2. Congrats on the new boat, she is beautiful.
  3. Rage craws and toads are the best I've ever used.
  4. How in the world would you expect to get a sponsor without a boat or car? You don't fish tournaments but can catch fish in a pond, how does this promote or sell a companies product? A company does not just give product or money away because they have to much of it, they only sponsor people that can make them money.
  5. I do use mono for both applications. I personally would use 10# mono as an all around.
  6. Combs has to be flying high tonight after winning his first Elite tournament and holding off a legend of the sport like Rick Clunn.
  7. Hire a guide, it will be well worth the time and money. You will experience what LOZ is all about.
  8. Hey Blue, I would love to but I have a tournament the last weekend in April. LaCygne has gotten pounded with tournaments this year. Chris and I went down last weekend and there were 2 tournaments with over 40 boats and I got invited to fish in one next weekend down there.
  9. I had my first tournament of the year at Stockton cancelled for weather then I end up plowing snow all night. I am ready for spring.
  10. This is definitely an argument that should have been handled man to man. Not on ESPN.
  11. I have 2 Ardent reels. They are not the smoothest reels I own but they will cast a freaking mile. I have used them a lot and they have held up very well.
  12. Whatever you get keep your selection simple. It's better to have 3 lures that you have confidence in than 15 and not know how to properly fish any of them.
  13. Nitro has had more structural problems with their boats over the years than all other boat companies combined. The newer Z series boats are supposed to be 100% better than anything made before them but resale on a Nitro still follows it's sketchy reputation, not that any boat is an investment. Nitro does come up with some neat features like a trash recepticle.
  14. Most have a tension knob under the foot pedal.
  15. I run a 75 mph boat and have never had that problem, maybe my boat isn't fast enough. Go very slow next time and see if you end up in a coma. If you do try to find a happy medium.
  16. Save a life, get a shelter dog.
  17. I'm with BKeith on this one. I wouldn't buy a battery that is over a year old. I won't accept one over 3 months old but that's me. I run them 2 years and replace them no matter what condition they are in. I charge mine on a smart charger also set at the 8 amp. For 2 day tournaments I use the onboard charger but I feel I get a better charge from a smart charger.
  18. I'm not dissing Rick Clunn or all of his accomplishments but having met him and talked with him he is only in it for himself. He is not really a people person. He could sure us a class in the Shaw Grigsby school of excitement.
  19. Zwhiten12, My partner and I finished 68th. We had limits each day but lacked the big kicker fish. But that seems to be the story of my life.
  20. The biggest tournament I have ever fished was a Shriners charity tournament on Truman Lake Mo, there were 412 boats. It was insane.
  21. June bug, red shad or black/blue. I personally use green pumpkin a lot in murky water and load up on scent.
  22. The "Zen" needs to read his own article cuz he hasn't been a real threat on tour for a number of years.
  23. I used to have a lot of back pain until I bought a boat that had a recessed trolling motor tray and my back hasn't bothered me much since.
  24. When you meet them in person you realize they are just people like us. Most I have met have been very nice and humble.
