  1. I have yet to find a wrong way to fish them.
  2. 2x 50e. I personally am not a fan of the mag breaks on the revo. They just don't seem as consistent. Never used a g series so I can't give an opinion.
  3. I guess I did it right the first time (installed only two). I just didn't get the results I was hoping for. I changed out the drag on my citica last year and it was amazing. I don't see much difference with the bps reel. Maybe something got out of alignment when I put it back together...its happened to me before. Thanks for the input guys,
  4. I recently got carbon drag washers for my bps carbon lite reel. The set comes with 4 washers (1 small and 3 larger ones). When I opened the reel up I can only find 2 stock washers. Are there 2 more I'm just not seeing, or am I suppose to stack the 3 larger washers?
  5. Bought one for my dad (glad I got one before you guys bought them all up). I have one and only my chronarch's get more time on the water. It's a great reel. My only complaint is the drag is a little light. Road warrior, have you tried one? It pains me to say it but it's smoother than any of my shimanos.
  6. Glad to see I'm not the only one that's sick in the head...with fishing.
  7. I have a couple cranks I've added about 6 coats of automotive clear coat to. It seems these rise much slower on pauses, keeping the bait in the strike zone longer. I also trim weed guards on jigs, about even with the tip of the hook. I've also removed the tail treble from rattle traps but i don't know if this actually improves anything or not. Outside the box: I have a cousin who swears by covering his hand in mud before touching any lures. He says that this reduces the human smell on his baits. I don't do it and I always catch more fish than him so I can't say for sure that this actually works.
  8. I've got nothing for you. I also found some zoom flukes at the bottom of my tackle box and thought the same thing. Replying to this post is only way i know how to add the "follow" option. I tried rigging them the same way i'd set up a soft magic swimmer (T-rigged with a touch of sticky weight just past the lock bend of the hook) and weightless but had no luck.
  9. I went from an ultra-lite fenwick paired with a tiny pflueger president to a M and MH baitcaster almost stricly. I would catch hundreds of 1 lbs. bass on that ultra-lite outfit and everyone felt 6 plus. When i finally set into a "brag to everyone you've ever come in contact with" fish, it shook free 3' from the boat and it still eats me up 10 years later. I dusted off my baitcaster and never looked back. Not that you still don't lose a fish here and there but your percentage is much higher with a baitcasting setup. Hooksets are flat out better and It handles higher test line. If your reel has a light enough spool, you should have no problem slinging weightless plastics. The only time i bring out the spinning reel now is when i fish crappie with my dad.
  10. 2x baby brush hog. Also power bait's chiggercraw.
  11. Here in southern Ohio, I like to go after sauger in the river. They really peak in February.
  12. Sweet! I've always thought about it but never tried.
  13. A little outside of the box here... But I had a reel that had a small nick on the bail that cut line with any bit of tension. If the obvious stated above isn't the culprit, check your equipment.
  14. Both. I usually bid on the blanks KO lures on eBay. I keep trying to make my own but have yet to make one that runs true.
  15. I use an airbrush for model cars I got from my brother that he used as a kid. You can get them at most hobby stores. I've been painting them with the same model paint and coating them with automotive clear gloss (4-6 coats). I hear a clear drying 2 part epoxy works better for the finish coat but I've yet to try it.
  16. I didn't like mine (although i'm in the minority). I bought one, took it back cause it was noisy. Exchanged it for another and it was making noise by the time i finished spooling it up. I took it back again and the saleman found a gold carbonlite from the previous year and i really like that one. Based on what i hear from others that have this reel, I would still try it out cause they can be had at a great price, but save the receipt...just in case. Maybe i'm too picky.
  17. Nice...same thing happened to me 3 weeks ago but only had to go knee high. You win.
  18. Well, after more years than I wish to count, I finally got my boat fixed. I keep hearing that the smallmouth fishing has really been good at Brookville. Anyone fished there lately? Any tips? I'm planning on heading out this weekend and my plan of attack consists of dropping tubes at the dam and working jerks and spinners at creek mouths. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Probably an orb spider.
  20. Nevermind, I need to read more carefully. "Swim jig". I make my own so I got nothing for you.
  21. Mann's stone Jigs. I don't know the science behind it, but they seem to just catch fish.
  22. Premier...no doubt. I own both and agree the reel seat on the vertias is rough. The premier feels better in my hand and casts much better. The weight difference is minimal.
