Long-Lining ????
It's been so long now I can't recall the basic premise behind the objection to trolling, is it a safety issue or what?

How Big Do You Feel After Seeing This...
Well, first off the size of the Japanese Spider Crab is alarming. This graphic is outstanding. But I have to ask, how many people, and how long, did it take to compile this data?? Have you ever wondered if anything is living on the smallest particles, I.e. porton, neutron, etc.?

Hey, we could get an action figure of Roadwarrier hooking that seven pounder on four pound line

Long-Lining ????
That would be hard to adjudicate, one could argue they were maintaining position. I have used a technique using an in-line egg sinker to hold a crank in what I thought was the "strike zone". It was hit and miss; and hard to cast, so I would drift a while before retrieving.

Grandpa is correct, I shouldn't judge. But look at what these poor woman have done to themselves. Can they ever recover from such extreme tanning? Maybe we should get some sunscreen and walk up & down the beach offering free applications to selected women. I'll volunteer to do whatever I can to help these poor sun drenched girls.

How Would You Improve Fishing Shows??
I'm down to one TV show, Hook n' Look, and no longer go to the traveling fishing shows/expo's. I like the way Hook n' Look show the sonar, how to rig and fish the bait, and how it runs under water. I most enjoy the underwater portion of the show where they show the fish in it's habitat and how it reacts to the structure, cover, and bait. They not only tell you where their fishing, but also give a tip on where to stay (OK, it's an ad too) I would like to see them use something other than Strike King though. During the last show I got to see "Big O" and his Space Monkey in action.

Fun At The Boat Launch ~

Congratulations on the job. You were dressed to work, you probably beat out someone in a business suit.- Skinny/narrow Tie
And what was the position?- What's The Worst Thing That's Ever Happened To You While Fishing?
My worst moment on the water was in Oct, 2010, the day I broke my back. I was out alone in my Ranger 185. A large yacht was heading north on the Potomac, I was heading south, as it passed me I was amazed by the very large and long plume of water being ejected out the back of the yacht by its twin hulls. My distraction was broken as I realized I was quickly approaching the yacht wake; my boat and I went airborne on its leading edge; the boat came down on the trailing side of the trough created by the wake, and then bounced up again; it was at this point I landed in my seat _ HARD. The pain in my back and gut was so bad it took my breath away; all I could do was pull my safety lanyard, hug the steering wheel, and go with the rocking boat. After a while most of the pain subsided and I took it very slowly back to the launch. The launch was deserted, so it was up to me to do what I had to do, and somehow I got the boat on the trailer and made it home. An hour later, an ER x-ray revealed I had a compression fracture of L-1 and bulging disks at L-4 & L-5. I’m still living with the after effects of the event today. You’re probably asking why I didn’t call for help; after all I had a marine radio and a cellphone. Answer: I could not imagine abandoning my boat to whoever or whatever.- Soap Box Time
Would you want a date with her???? What the H---- is she going to look like in ten years?? Here we go again, someone is going to push through a law requiring tanning operators to be licensing and have training certificates. IMHO, they should be responsible to show some judgment for cutting a customer off when necessary.- Bourbon Anyone?
I'll go for some JD or his cousin JB. Also enjoy Knob Creek and some others I can't think of at the moment. I've also been enjoying the Honey Bourbons lately. All straight up with two cherries which I save for last.- Watching Big O Play With His Monkey
My son was the CEO of a company called Happy Monkey, he designed and built custom engineered Snowboards for discriminating clients. I never understood the company name. But I believe reaction to the thread title goes to show just where our mind gravitates.- Soap Box Time
Play in the Sun, not with it. Skin cancer is no joke and sun damage is cumulative like other radiation exposures. You younger guy's,, pay attention to us old farts,, we're trying to save your hides - literally.- Watching Big O Play With His Monkey
I was out Thursday for about five hours throwing Rage Frogs, Spinnerbaits, Cranks, and Chatterbaits; all I got was one Catfish that was kind enough to get off my hook at the side of the boat. We had a incoming tide and no wind, the water was glass smooth. I enjoyed watching Big O on Hook n' Look. Hope he makes it to the next RT.- Watching Big O Play With His Monkey
Just finished watching Steve Parks and Ken Stricker play with their Space Monkeys on Hook n' Look. And yes, Big O was wearing his camo shorts. It was an interesting show, need to watch it again tonight. Big O, Thanks for supporting the 2012 Road Trip!! When Glenn and Keri started handing out the Rage Tail baits we were like kids in a candy store Hope to see you at the 2013 Road Trip or somewhere else to thank you in person.- 10 Year Old Rods
I am still using four rods I got back in the late 80's. If the guides (the guides are the most important) and handles are good, keep them. I look on my rods as old friends that I wish could talk, boy the fishing tails they could tell- Long Sleeves, Hot Weather???
I've been told to take every precaution, or stay out of the sun. Between being naturally sensitive, and taking med's that have sun warnings, and having a record of multi site skin cancer, I am considered at high risk. My dermatologist tells me EVERY time he sees me wearing a baseball cap that "a baseball cap is no protection from the sun" I've started wearing my old LST's (Long Sleeve Tee's) a lot more and find they have multiple benefits for sun, wind, and temp. But I've been told standard cotton T's are not that good against UVA and UVB. I don't know much about the new fabrics that offer UV protection but would like to try them. If you have any first hand experience with the new fabric LST's please let us know what you think of them.- Long Sleeves, Hot Weather???
Spare us,,, don't- Soap Box Time
I have started using a product called Sun-X, Professional Skin Protection and like it very much. I was introduced to it by another angler while on the water. It's a towelette in a sealed foil pouch with a oil-free and non-greasy sunscreen lotion. They're made for trades people that work outside all day. The pro's are: -it's in a foil pouch so it stays fresh, you can carry several in your back pocket. - it's a towelette, so you can wipe on the sunscreen like your washing your face with a cloth. - It's easy to get full ear coverage, even under the ear folds and so on. - it dose not sweat into your eyes nearly as much as greasy lotions or sprays. - When your done with it, jam the towelette back in the pouch and put in your pocket. - No need to wash off your hands after use. The Con's are: - It's only SPF-30 - The cost - about $11.75 for a box of 25 towelette I get them from Amazon, com at http://www.amazon.com/Sunscreen-Towelettes-SunX-Protection-Version/dp/B000BJUPHI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS?ie=UTF8&coliid=I18YXS4YRFC4AE&colid=27J7CKNCLX2TS- Spinnerbait Fishing
I would not recomend spinnerbaits on spinning reels, but it can be done.- Spinnerbait Fishing
X2...... A must see video on spinnerbaits.- 2012 Roadtrip! Be There!
Now that's where talent shows. Scorcher & I launched there and worked the area without a bite. But on the down stream side of the bridge (100 yards. away) we hit on a feeding frenzy and landed 25 - 30 White Bass I'd trade that for a seven pounder any day - Skinny/narrow Tie
