I just went through the learning process for posting photos, check out http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/84971-gallery-tutorials/page__fromsearch__1 Question: what type and size of line do you have, and describe "wont go" If you hold your rod at 11:00 and release the spool, if the bait does a "free fall" it sounds like your reel/spool is OK. What I think you're describing is the mag breaks kicking in; turn the dial to "0" to see what you get (careful, don't get a birds nest)

Still sounds like an awesome effort driving the hours you do......

LOL, LOL, That sounds like Red Skelton (not sure about spelling) Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm. A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, 'You're really doing great, aren't you?' Morris replied, 'Just doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.'' The "leave it all at home" is just a metaphor for a practice of concentrating on one bait/lure at a time until you learn the in's and out's of that bait. You can, if you want, take it all with you, but most people loose their focus because they think about what's in the tackle box, and start switching baits. If you only take one bait, you force yourself to stay focused. DON'T worry about catching a fish - worry about learning the feel of the bait, the cast, how to un-snag the bait, the little things. If you catch a fish in the process - all the better.

X2 If you care about the stress your placing on the fish, and don't care for the struggle of getting a hook out, and want an extra fishing challegn - take a pair of plires and flatten the barb of the hook - then keep repeating in your mind what 200racing suggested.

I haven't heard of it. pm me some details please, I love the Stooges - spent hours as a kid watching them along with Our Gang, Bob Hope, Key Stone Cops, etc. That was good comedy, especially for the stunt technology at the time.

Yes, you have to consider the student before the instruction. Suggest Spinnerbaits; depending on where you fish, try different color and blade combos. And you can run a Spinnerbait where you can't run a crank.

LOL, I guess I've been lucky. I don't know that I've ever fished where there are pike. But, we have the Northern Snakehead; I don't know which would be worse, are pike slimy?

OK, you made me do it.... While I was out today, I stopped into our WM. I must say it was cleaner, I didn't have to step over anything; but I did see items laying in a few isles. I didn't see any noticeable change in the fishing area. So, for me, on a 1 - 10 scale I'll give it a 3.

But these are the same colors found on a Firetiger??

Thanks, have them on order. I have five 1936 USGS maps showing the area with the proposed lake if anyone is interested. There on PDF format and would need to be emailed. They show the old river, roads, creeks, and so forth, but no depth or contour lines.
