  1. Took it out today, set on manual 60 ft. Worked great all day! Thanks again for the tips guys!
  2. Will do Todd. Plan on taking it out again tomorrow, starting in Auto, and will capture some screenshots if it happens. Thanks for helping out.
  3. Jig... Was your problem with sonar or structurescan?
  4. Yeah I was surprised the XPS didn't perform on the spinning for me last yr, as I love it on my baitcasters. Not having used spinning much before last yr, I wonder if i spooled it on wrong. It was also 10#, instead of the lighter stuff I'm using now. May have to give it another go, and see...
  5. Did u by any chance happen to see a cpl coming out of the channel into the area while you were heading out, and tell them you grabbed smallmouth in the area?
  6. I've been an XPS fan myself since first trying it. Used just about every fc imaginable, including seaguar, which I liked, but if I can get the performance at a lower price... That being said, I tried XPS on spinning last yr, and wasn't impressed, so I bit the bullet and bought some fc sniper for drop shotting. Extremely impressed with it so far! Casts great, spools well, handles well.
  7. We are on auto. Will try that, thx!
  8. Yeah I have a feelin that's what I will be doin Monday...
  9. Yeah like I said, I have been using palomar for yrs with no issues. Just came across some articles that mentioned it could actually cut into the line, which worried me with 7lb test..
  10. Thanks for the input all. I actually did get that app, pretty cool :-). Used the san diego jam today, definitely seems to tie smoother than the palomar...
  11. Just got structurescan, been out twice. We are experiencing an intermittent issue where it will be fine, then it reads 2.5 ft, and screen starts scrolling at a high speed on the display with what just appears to be clutter. A restore defaults fixed it the first cpl times it happened, but the last time today it didn't. We shut it down for about a half hr, then it worked again when we tried it. Thought it might be an overheat problem, but the lss felt ok when I put my hand on it. Anyone experience this???
  12. Is there a launch or parking fee at lee's?
  13. I've been using fc for a few yrs now, 17#, and always tied a palomar knot. I have yet to break one off, knock on wood, but this yr I have ventured into the finesse realm, using 7 lb sunline fc sniper on my spinning setup. In researching finesse fishing, I read that palomar is not recommended for fc, and instead it is recommended to use a san diego knot. Just curious what others are using for their knots, and your results...
  14. Good to hear! Thanks for the reply.
  15. Same feeling here! Been saying that to my wife, goin off the mild winter, record early ice out. We have been a month ahead of last year's water temps...
  16. NH Basscasters, first team tourney of yr. Yeah we fished a cpl there last yr, definitely more weeds than rest of lake...
  17. Good to know! Got a tourney comin up out of states in a cpl wks, and was planning on doing some pre-fishing there this weekend. Thanks!
  18. What part of lake? We launched out of Glendale Saturday, with intention of heading up to center harbor, but only made it to Meredith as we were spending more time playing with the new electronics than fishing and ran out of time lol. Caught a cpl on dropshot roboworm and ribster worm over by the weirs...
  19. Nice, congrats! I hear ya on the ppl thinkin you're nuts, as I got my fair share of "What's wrong with you? It's a fish finder!" looks when asked how much mine cost. Good on ya, enjoy!!!
  20. Currently have a 27DC-6 as my starting battery for a 150hp Yamaha. Haven't had any trouble in the cpl months I've had the boat but am wondering if this is the right battery for the job...
  21. Been using 17 lb XPS for a cpl yrs now on all my baitcasters, won't use anything else. However, tried some 10 lb on a spinning reel last yr and didn't like it so much. Could have very well been my own doing as I may have spooled it on the wrong way being a spinning gear rookie last yr. I've owned a bps Rick Clunn reel for 7 yrs now and it is still treating me very well to this day. So when it came time to get a new setup for c-rig and jig this yr, I opted for the pq and a morris signature rod. Also bought a pq spinning reel since I was in the market. BPS makes a quality product for a fraction of the price of some of the high priced mfgs out there, you won't be disappointed with either of the 2 choices.
