  1. Usually insane traffic! Couldn't believe it was Winni while out this weekend as we saw 2 other boats total all day! We fish it as it is 5 minutes from us and have town launch. Not to mention the clubs we fish hold 4 tourneys a year there so... That said, would still rather fish Waukewan any day ;-)
  2. Which one? Was actually planning on hitting the gilford store tonight to pick up some last minute stuff for tomorrow, and figured we would browse it a bit to see if it was any better this yr...
  3. Ice on Waukewan huh? Well that's not what i wanted to hear lol. Not sure what the restrictions are there, we have 18.5 ft, 150hp that we took there quite a bit last yr. We fished a cpl tourneys out of moultonboro last yr as well, probably a cpl more this yr.
  4. Not sure yet, but most likely Waukewan. Wanna go to a familiar, smaller than Winni body of water to try out the new hds and structurescan before gettin out on the big lake... You fish Winni a lot?
  5. Nice! Not the one I was thinkin of, but in the area. Good to hear they're active, as we plan on gettin out this weekend. Cpl real beasts in ur pics, congrats!
  6. Not dumb at all imo. I just installed my hds7 on console, replacing an ancient unit which was there when I bought the boat. For me it was a no brainer since I had no charting whatsoever, and figured I could live with the old unit at the bow til I can afford another hds. I also have a set of eyes already in the back of the boat in my wife, who is very electronics savvy. If I was in your shoes, I would do just what you're doing. No first hand experience, but from what I've read, the image will blur with rotation of tm on the ss ducer, but sonar is unaffected. Good luck and congrats on new system!
  7. You guys are killin me lol!!! Just got boat out of storage Friday, installed hds7 and sscan Saturday, so I'm on hold til the weekend while 5200 is curing... Hey great pics all!!!
  8. Lily Pond... Gilford??? Nice fish man!
  9. Thanks jig...
  10. Great info, thanks for sharing! Just got my 6'9MXF spinning today, and can't wait to try it out!
  11. Thanks Todd... I would indeed put the new ducer on trolling motor, and just wondered if I would be able to see the structurescan imaging from the lss ducer already on the transom?
  12. Just installed hds7 and structurescan on console, transducers on transom. For future, if I want to put a unit on bow, do I need to install a separate ducer to use?
  13. Thanks Wayne!
  14. Just finished installing hds7 and structurescan on boat. When I power up, and select structure, it only displays centerline, but is blank on either side of line. Would I be correct in assuming that it is because boat is not in water?
  15. I could be misinterpreting, but I thought i read that you cant "take" fish. I hear ya tho, the rules sometimes do make me feel like I need to be a Harvard law graduate to decipher...
  16. Thanks for the tips! Got the ducers installed, lss mounted, and cables routed today. Had to cut it short due to rain, and will wire up and install display tomorrow. Went ok with the exception of having a screw head break off on the skimmer mount, which I replaced with hex heads, and followed suit on the structurescan ducer.
  17. Gonna be installing gen2 with structurescan in a 94 Ragin Cajun XL soon. Looked over the manual and it doesn't seem too complicated, but I just wanted to ask for tips, and things others encountered while installing theirs. Thanks!
  18. Pretty much like yours... My wife and I did our first last August, and were quite nervous. In the madness of getting ready, we forgot our chart at home, and were fishing a part of lake winnipesaukee that we were unfamiliar with. Winni is a well known lower unit wrecker, with boulders that sneak up on ya pretty fast, making for a navigational nightmare! We stayed in the bay the whole day and weighed in with a whopping 4 lbs, finishing near the bottom of the pack. Good news is it gets better, as each one is more of a learning experience. We improved every time out, and even grabbed a 3rd place finish in September! Welcome to the world of tourney fishing, it is a blast, which I'm sure you'll love! Good luck!
  19. Ordered from fenwick's website, paid 130.
  20. Ordered the 6'9 MXF Spinning Sunday night, pairing with Pro Qualifier 20. Anxious to use it with all the positive feedback I've read!
  21. Seeing some familiar faces, so I was just wondering if anyone out there fishes with any of the same clubs as us... NH Basscasters, Bubba, Lakes Region Bass Chasers
  22. Lol too funny! But I feel left out now cuz i didnt get yelled at!!! :-P
  23. Will do, and thanks! Really looking forward to trying the new rig out, especially the fenwick rod. Been reading a lot of good things people are saying about it... :-)
  24. When i was considering clubs to join, I went to the NH fish and game website and looked at the tournament schedule. I noted the bodies of water close to me, and then researched the clubs holding them. I found this to be the easiest way to find the clubs I wanted to join.
