  1. I love Rage Tail Frogs. I just used craws, Rage Rigged, earlier today. They are awesome. Great action. They even smell good! Goin back out soon
  2. I woulda chased that jerk down and gave him an earfull
  3. I have tried Seaguar and Vanish. They are both junk. Had multiple break offs with Vanish, both while fighting the fish AND setting the hook. My Seaguar Red label didnt even make it to the water because the line snapped at home (15# test broke at 5#'s) while setting the drag. Im switching from flouro to Yo Zuri Hybrid.
  4. I just got a tour edition for $110 off!
  5. Lol. thx but Im not to sure about that. Just started baitcasting about three months ago.. While I do have excellent eye hand coordination, timing and rythym (all are important in casting). I think it is mostly because of my superior gear. Made a big difference after adding Quantum Hot Sauce, just wait until I get my Boca Bearings in there and some KVD line spray. Then Ill be able to reach out and touch some fish!
  6. This sounds like some BS. How would a lube damage a reel? If anything, it may attract dirt or something and gum up your reel but thats your fault for not cleaning it.( Not aimed at you quake, but Shimano) Sounds like a , DONT USE ANY "XYZ" PRODUCT BUT OURS! Its usually followed by, "Damage will occur" or "You risk poor performance"...blah blah Do you guys think when they say this that it has nothing to do with money?
  7. I own six quantum reels. both spinning and BC. They are ALL top quality reels. Im always outcasting my buddies with ease. Very smooth. Easy to clean and oil. Not over-priced like most high end BC's.
  8. Thats what I figured too. That they werent inluding the bearing under the tension control cap. Kinda weird. The video I watched on youtube for the smoke series had a three bearing replacement too...

  10. Rude people suck! Just because your bitter about your sh@#%* life doesnt mean you can take it out on me.
  11. Thx Brian. I think Ill try it out. I need to look into some of that line conditioner too. And sry if this is in the wrong spot. I see the forum with "line" in it now. I only use my phone for this site and Im still figuring it all out.
  12. hahahahahahahaha. nice
  13. Does it float well? Hows the managability? Do you ever have problems with the fish seeing the line?
  14. I went to Boca's site and they only have a 'two bearing upgrade' ,and an 'eight bearing upgrade'. I just want to upgrade the spool bearings on my Quantum Tour Edition. Which three do you mean and how do I find the exact size of the third bearing ,for ordering, if its not in the upgrade kit already?
  15. Ive been doing some experimenting with lines latley. Mono, braid, flouro and superlines. I still have not found a specific type that I like everything about. I have not tried a hybrid (mono/flouro) yet. Im looking for a line to get the best presentation, strength, knot strength, sensitivity and abrasion resistance for a fast action, medium power, plastics setup. I would like it to float without sacrificing any of the qualities mentioned above. Any recommendations based on actual experience will be greatly appreciated. thx
  16. I tried Senkos for the first time the other day and wasnt very impressed... The plastic these baits are made of is of poor quality. They tear, shred, rip, slip, and just plain fall off. I even glued one to my hook with fishing glue....that worked for about two casts even after allowing for dry time. I did catch fish but no more or any bigger than with my usual plastics. They are way overpriced (IMO) for how long they last.
  17. I will agree that slow isnt always the best. Ever heard of speed worming? It works great when bass are suspended in tall weeds.
  18. *I tried Hot Sauce Oil, not grease...*
  19. I am new to baitcasting and have been trying to find videos on "greasing" a reel. There are plenty on cleaning and oiling, which I have done, but I want to know how to pack bearings and grease my gears and drag. I plan on getting Boca Bearing upgrades for both my Quantum TE's and my Smoke so I need to learn these things well. p.s. I tried quantum hot sauce and it worked great. It added distance to my cast and made my reel more quiet. I hope it doesnt get gummy like you said. It should be the perfect product for what they charge for it...
  20. Yes , mojo bass by st. croix has a rod specifically for crankbaits. Its $100 at gander mtn...
  21. I searched for a related topic and surprisingly didnt find one. Ive got three new baitcasters and I was looking for a good, long lasting lube. Quantum had some I looked at when I got my reel but it was rediculously expensive($20). Recommendations?
  22. Although I dont have a crankin rod of theirs, yet, I have all Bass Mojo rods. Very nice and high quuality . Its the most sensitive rod ive ever owned. I think you can get a glass casting rod from them too.
  23. Thats was kinda my thougts. If I put a 14# leader on 30# braid then whats the point of the braid? I think if i use a leader it will be the same strength or greater than main line. Im very good at tying knots (union Ironworker) with rope and fishin line so I dont think it was a faulty knot just the fact that the knot was the weakest point. BTW I think my mystery fish was a big cat...but I know theres a LMB in there over 7 1/2#'s...and yes, my drag wont be a "drag" anymore.
