Fished Swains today after 2 weeks of no fishing. The fish were on fire and I lost count how many caught(sore thumbs). Mostly 1-2 pounder's hanging around large rocks in 3-6 ft of water. Skipping a wacky rig under the tree limbs and bush's produced much larger size fish 2-4 lbs. Only a couple caught with the new live target soft frog I'm trying out. It was very windy today with the fronts moving through. What worked black jig with blue chiggar craw, texas smoke (bass pro) wacky rigged worm, Live target soft frog, and a couple on a storm arashi squarebill around the sunken trees. Heres my attempt at some gopro editing of short piece my day there.

Usually yellow buoys with yellow stripes and black lettering will designate the area as milfoil. the chemical is done by floating orange or green sticks poking up in the water and releasing the stuff. At least that's the way they did it a couple years back..

They did it several years ago, less weeds=less oxygen the fish will be stressed.

Did Swains with a friend today for 3 hours after the rain stopped, got almost a dozen, biggest about 2lbs all fish were skinny. I'm thinking this lake is post spawn now. black jig with a pumpkinseed green chiggar craw, and texas smoke wacky worm caught the majority today. My buddy caught a couple with his homemade chatterbait.

The big bite on my side of the state is on (not as big as MaineBass) biggest was 5.4 but lots of 2,3,4 pound fish almost 4 dozen at Great East lake, also I caught a 2.2lb crappie I know nothing about these fish except they are eating mostly down south what got me was the fact I have been fishing this lake for almost 40 years and never caught a single one till today. I sent a pic to my buddy and he got upset because I put it back into the water. No bass beds but I did see more crappie on a couple beds. pumpkin seed green 5" Chigger craw on a 1/2 black jig was the over all favorite today. I tried rage craws but they wanted something bigger. I threw it at any cover then just dragged it back to the boat mostly on shores that had rocky banks towards 15-20 feet of water. The second basin was where I caught the most today. 65 degrees while the river was at 62-63 I did weigh it but I forgot the measure it, for scale my sandal foot is 12 1/2 inches long.

There was but it was not properly documented. 11+ lbs so it's not recognized and the person put it back into the pond. It is a state trout pond so there are fishing restrictions as well as when the pond is closed to all fishing.

Finished fishing Swains. I just could not get the big bite going almost 2 dozen rats but nothing bigger then a pound. I think with the front going through the big fish are holding back at least thats my excuse. This was after I took my truck battery out to jump start my boat motor then ripped my jeans requiring a hook and fishing line repair on the lake. But once the dark clouds started to pop up it was time for me to get off the lake. hope other people had better luck then me today.

Just off Great East not the hog day MaineBass had but a decent catch the biggest being just under 4lbs only 7 today including 2 smallmouths in the river. What worked 3/8 once black jig with pumpkin green rage tail. Daddymack rainbow trout, smoke with pepper tube jig, suspending shallow shadow rap silver/black jig till a big boy pickerel decided to keep it for himself. started at 10 and was off the lake by 2 the wind was picking up big time 20+ and I hadn't charged my trolling batteries since I started fishing 2 weeks ago. Main lake temp was 51 but the river area I was fishing hit 61 so I expect spawning next full moon, Hope to get out to Winni next week.

Everything we caught was the northern side to the right (river) that great east dumps into. Coming out of that cove on your left where it gets wide there's scattered large rocks 6ft deep we caught about a dozen there. There are 3 humps that bass were hanging around Two at the top part of the lake and one just as you finally get into the wide part of the pond coming from the canal. don't forget to cast around that tree that was in the water across the ramp. But don't worry summer's coming and will change again and everything will be opposite. Lots of trout running around yesterday.

I got the 5 inch version of the daddymack trout the one thing I had to get used to is the cadence needed to get the wobble action. it wanted a faster action then what I felt comfortable with. so there was a lot of halts to give it a dying fish feel it worked enough to get 3 LM.

Fished Horn Pond on the border of NH/ME today with my dad he caught the biggest of almost 2 dozen fish for the day before the threatening skies, The biggest was 4.2 my dad got on his favorite gitzit color. the LM were very active and cruising shallows, water temps hitting 54-58 what worked stick baits (black/white or perch) square bills fire orange with some chartreuse in it. gitzits black with blue jigs, and rainbow trout daddy mack lures

Fished for a hour sunday at great east best bet hit the river at the top of the lake. when you enter it throw some jigs in the hole before the beaver hut then head north find the channel that runs through the area and throw 4-5 inch black/silver stick baits tapping them every 30 second or so. The temp was 48 when I was there if it hits 50 don't be afraid to throw some baits tight against the shores also.

Tried to get a early start fishing this morning but my truck died on the road after getting it fixed (bad battery) at 3pm I was able to put a hour on Great East and caught 6 bad boys all on stick baits water was 48 but the wind started whipping from the east so had to end early.
