  1. Mousam is a good lake won a lot of money from lunker tournaments on it, but the bass turn off easily on it. You can win that lake with just smallmouth. I will be doing a couple Open tournaments this year instead of the trail to let me have more time to fish for relaxation.
  2. Close with the Hooper's and they are concerned with Mousam also. Arrowhead will be interesting being the first lake of the trial, but it does ice out early being shallow. No trail fishing for me this year.
  3. I am hearing estimates of 1-2 weeks past last years ice outs for the deeper lakes in NH
  4. Isn't the end of March usually time for melting ice not making ice?
  5. I am almost able to reach my boat to start charging the batteries up.
  6. My 2004 Avalanche and of course my fishing partner Cosmo.
  7. Like all ban's read the fine print it's basically banning lead that's less then a inch and a half long on a hook or less then a ounce that can get swallowed by wild life (sinkers, worm weights ) those have pretty much been replaced at any shopping center. But it's slowly happening every place and once people create a competitive market nation wide the costs of alternatives will go down. I have already seen it online for tungsten weights. I would be more worried from what happened in Maine last year when someone put a motion to ban plastics for baits it didn't pass but those people will shop it state to state.
  8. A Arashi square bill crank bait and down sized black jig with darker color rage tail.
  9. Getting cabin fever what new lure are you looking at now that you cant wait to get into the water to catch some fish? me the new z-man bluegill quadzilla .
  10. Joined my first club 25 years ago as a non boater not only did I learn a lot I also qualified for the state team as a non boater beating out contenders from the back of the boat to qualify for the B.A.S.S regional's. It's still my proudest moment fishing Now that I have my own boat I am constantly making sure everyone feels at home fishing no matter what skill level they may have.
  11. Made this the other day. I'm sure there are others that can relate.
  12. I wish there was more ice but soon to be in the 50's and lots of rain. Have a safe and happy Holiday all, and may your tackle gear increase from it.

  15. Hi Baitmonkey, welcome to the forums I am on the NH seacoast, I just put my boat into hibernation but not after almost 8 months of fishing. plenty of places that are still open. I know of some boater friends of mine who wont put their boat up till Dec. also look up Any luck in southern NH or Any luck in New England under Northeast bass fishing on the main forum page. Many from your area there. Have fun collecting stuff for next year. Bob
  16. Going through the gopro camera pictures I managed to capture my last cast of the 2014 season. I can't wait to capture some actual video with it next year once I learn how to use the camera correctly.
  17. If you know Dennis Cilley he will be out till Dec with his boat and most likely hit Balch again soon.
  18. Some friends of mine fished Balch Pond yesterday 80 largemouth in 8 hours rattle traps were the winner of the day. They had some nice fish from the pics they sent me. 4-5 lb fish were the norm he said. The big bite is on and my boat is officially in hibernation.
  19. For me its the wifi remote I think I will use the phone app more bigger screen to see what setting I am in.
  20. Just a pickerel for me one bass for my partner the other boat got 3 total and yes they had the silver buddy I didn't have one but I will now. No sun that was promised thought it was going to snow the whole day out. I guess this is the final for me fogging the boat tomorrow for next year. Bummed got a new gopro hero 4 but all my videos today were done as time laps so I have a couple thousand photos instead of some video. guess I still need to learn more about the gopro.
  21. Been challenged to a friendly fish off tomorrow will be the first time out in my boat on the month of November. Thinking jigging and rattlebaits will be my friends
  22. I have always kept a diary of sorts on my boat, mine is a pack of index cards I use every trip out. Its good to have notes to fall back on year to year, I have 4 seasons with the boat I have now. I also have a couple years worth when I did tournament fishing 20 yrs ago with the Maine state federation. I always enjoys my notes on tidal water while fishing the Connecticut river in Conn. We launched from Hartford, one fishing spot was almost a two hour ride from the launch. the week before the Federation regional's tournament that I was in it rained 11 inches so the river was almost 1-2 feet higher with a tide, talk about making up new ways to fish. going by the nuke plant the water was in the mid 80's and catching striped bass was always fun while trying to catch a regular bass.
  23. 2014 season on the boat has come to a end now to hibernate the boat and stock up for next year. Season end notes; What worked Chatter baits fished with different color skirts and trailers keitech impact fat was the overall winner on trailers., Jigs fished with 30lb braid attached to a 20lb floro leader. Wacky rigged senko's, square bill hard baits pounding the bottom, and finally Ragetail craws hooked up to a variety of jigs. What didn't work spinner baits ( zero confidence in them!) I know they work but... Year end tally. 44 days of fishing. 3 lunker tournaments. 3 Maine Bass Trail tournaments. 11 days in the rain. 13 guests on the boat. 1 helping a distressed boater. Bass tally over 12 inches Largest 6.2 lbs 6+lbs 1 5-6lbs 11 4-5lbs 28 3-4lbs 41 2-3lbs 102 1-2lbs 306 Next year I plan on matching my set ups for the types of lure set up's I use, also improving my bait casting usage. and of course fishing more I missed 4 weeks of fishing this year do to work issues. all and all I rate myself at a B+ for the year. Hope everyone keeps catching them I will still be reading and commenting through out the year. Bob
