  1. Did you fish arrowhead yet?
  2. I was there the other day. They are remodeling the place to make it smaller to reduce the rent. You will be able to go out back now to look at the soft bait selection. It was confusing at first for me also.
  3. I know I will probably see you at Arrowhead.
  4. Day three of 3 days of fishing is done. Did horn pond with a family friend and two teenage boys. caught 3 dozen fish including smallmouth I finished off with one weighing 6.2 lbs all in all a good three days of fishing.
  5. I fished the bridge (south) and went to the basin on the other side but soon retreated because of the wind it kept pushing us back to the bridge. I wish I had these same fish to weigh for the tournament lol. the lunker was 4.89 on the scale I would have a picture but my dad couldn't get the phone camera to work right. But the main thing my dad had a blast there.
  6. Day two of three days of fishing is done at Great East Lake over 2 dozen bass caught sizes were 2 lbs to 4 1/2 pounds. Chatter baits paired with a paddle tail (gold/white or white/shad blue) were the winner today along with jigs rigged with berkley craws, wacky rigged senkos and 10 ft diving crankbaits. around the rocks
  7. Keezar Lake in Maine is the premier spot In the Bassmasters top 100 lakes many years. A short hop from North Conway area.
  8. Did Moose pond with my dad yesterday. The wind was stronger then expected but was still able to catch about a dozen good sized fish 2-5lb range. Most were under the large boulders 5-10 ft of water throughout the lake. The morning was the best hit then it slowed as the wind sped up. Jigs with a missile d bomb, gitzits smoke or chartreuse and wacky rigged senko black with blue flake caught the majority of the fish. Now to fish Great East in a couple minutes.
  9. You can't go wrong with a ragetail set up for a jig and never laugh at the wacky riggged with a senco or equivalent. natural colors in sunlight black w/red or blue flakes on cloudy days. I would look for deep ridge lines that are near to shores, bass will be going up and down them during the day. Fishing Moose Pond (ME) Monday, Great East Tuesday and Horn Pond Wednesday myself
  10. I put up a photo a couple threads up of what I use, A nice slow speed reel works wonders I use a 5:4.1 with 10lb floro. if you do it right you will feel the thumping of the blade I try to get it so the blade is slow without stalling. Put in some quick jerks and pauses to make it life like. My favorite spots to throw is along a pronounced weed line or though pad areas in 2ft of water. Across channels or rocky points if I am going after smallmouths. This works for me but I'm sure there are many ways to use it.
  11. I put the bass pro shop version on my chatterbaits all the time.
  12. my favorite set up is a falcon 6 1/2 medium heavy with a procyon spinning reel I am using a yo-zori 10lb hybrid line I know people don't like that stuff but it is really tough for those tight spots. the falcon rod I am using is almost 20 yrs old but it still hauls out the big boys. the people i fish with are always amazed at how it can be done. I'm sure different spinning set ups will work but this is what I grab every time I have to skip something.
  13. Welcome to the group bgwin, I personally have never fished Baboosic but I know several people on here will have answers for you soon. Were you shore fishing in a boat/canoe ?
  14. Some of my biggest fish have been caught in tight to the shore no matter what season 6lb+ I have found the big ones have a pattern and they are more like us in wanting something different to eat. lately when I am fishing I have turned off my electronics and that has increased my catch size many times more then with it on that includes my radio. Also the art of skipping baits under docks and low trees pays off very well. gitzits texas rigged 5 inch worms and wacky rigged worms can be skipped almost 20 feet in some situations (docks pontoon boats, culverts any low blueberry bushes because they are blooming up and yes bass will eat the berries)
  15. My dad asked to fish it he has never fished up there, plus I want to get to know the lake better I have a feeling there are larger fish there.
  16. Yes I will be there, This will be the last one this year for me on the tournament trail. Heard the fishing was rather slow for the open last Sunday 18 lbs for 7 fish won it. a lot of big names skunked it. Looks like Monday will be Moose Pond, Tuesday Great East and Weds Horn Pond.
  17. No fishing for me this weekend but I will be fishing Mon,Tue and Weds next week.
  18. Did some fishing Sunday it was tough but was able to locate both smallmouth and largemouth bass. the summer boat traffic on the lakes is heating up also. Has anyone else notice the grass and weeds are late growing this year? Snapped a pole while casting a chatterbait the guy on shore thought it was a gun going off lol. Chatter baits, wacky rigged senkos and floating frogs were the winners Sunday.
  19. Bass will spawn all summer if the their inner cycle gets messed up. Finally a day off and what lake do I need to fish.
  20. Ever have a day so perfect it messes up the fishing? That's what happened Sunday at Moose Pond with 21 boats The winning bag was just a little over 16 lbs for 5 fish weigh in. I had my limit with just over 9 lbs. It was one of those hard blue bird days of fishing in very very clear water.
  21. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/bathy_maps.htm You can find a bunch of NH lakes with basic depth info here.
  22. The big ones I have caught this week have been right on shore in inches of water or standing in the cabbage. Your doing the right thing casting parallel. Tourney on Moose Pond, Maine Sunday for me.
  23. I'll see you on Moose Sunday and will be sure to say hi.
  24. Be careful with public water supply area's most places have strict policy's up to and including the use of deadly force is granted (Maine Standish ramp) Sebago they carry sidearms and will only ask you a couple times to get your feet out of the water before action is taken. I know this seems foolish but it is a lot harder to take contagions out of the water then oil's and grease. As a licensed fisherman you should always set a example, not a excuse to close public access to water ways.
  25. Did Cobbosseecontee today. I took two other people who have never fished it before. Almost two dozen fish. My biggest was 4.5 the biggest on the boat was 5.5 and I lost 7-8 pounder right next to the boat when my drag failed on my spinning rod. One of the people in my boat even caught one using his possum top water lure which is over a foot long the wind was brutal today on the lake 25+mph. Surprisingly wacky rigged senkos caught all the big fish today.
