When I was younger I qualified as a non-boater to fish the regional federation fish off for B.A.S.S for a spot on the Classic. our state(Maine) finished 4th I contributed 2 bass for weight on what was considered the toughest fishing they ever had on the CT river (up to 10 inches of rain fell the week before) add to it being tidal and striped bass it was interesting. One week of fishing with the best 12 other states had and the fact everything was paid for made it memorable. I retired tournament fishing when my son was born but I still cherish my patch and memories. So remember the sky is the limit!

I went by Swains today, Still a lot of ice out there.The last time a local drilled they said there was 18 inches so at least two weeks for that lake.

Remember if you have a bob-house on any NH water it must be removed by midnight April 1st!

Reels all cleaned and lubed on this rainy day, even did my new lew's I just got in the mail yesterday. This rain will help on the smaller ponds to warm them up.

I go with craws, frogs, lizards and worms for my slow shallow fishing then I switch it up to faster baits like the gills, shiners for the faster presentation in the deeper stuff. But to me it's what you learn from each fishery because none are the same. That's why I like these post people share some great info here.

I have it on my depth finder the same program. I use it to relate to how I am catching bass at the moment, if you are catching them on a north facing drop at a certain depth this will help you look at the lake to see any more areas that have the same features. in the end its a tool to add and learn from.

The web/app page for navionics is free and I have been using it to plan my trips last year but some lakes in Maine have no depth makings as of yet. but its great to study points and bottom lake streams.

Just bought the Navionics app for my phone and tablet I must say its a cool app.

I used it last year and I swear on it, it does work for my finesse style presentations. I have 2 tubes one for the front and another for the back. But I still love my smelly jelly anise/craw

Long range forecast is showing 60 degree weather the fist of April then staying steady temp wise. 2 weeks for small lakes and ponds 3rd week for Winni to thaw out. then the wait for 50 degree water temps that has always started the bass biting for me.

Hard to believe this is what Swains looked like on the 24th of 2012 still hearing reports of up to a foot of ice on it now. I need to go on the water!

It was listed as new but no box, I always throw out a bid when I see item about to end I have been lucky a couple times so far. Bought a nice daiwa caldia spinning reel last fall for under $100 on ebay. I need to stop buying spinning reels and get involved with bait casters more.

Just bought a new Lew's BB1 Pro 5.1:1 for $60 on eBay This will be my first Lew's and wanted a nice slow speed for my crank baits.

my luck has been with Bama bug, pb&j and black with blue neon. I also use them as trailers and as texas rigged. weightless to 3/4 ounces to punch through grass and weeds. I keep it simple.

Most start their own, I would be mostly bass fishing catering to different levels of the guest.
