  1. If I can add what the current thread theme has been. I will break down a un known lake by zones, I will study a lake on google earth (tip the lower left is a time bar put the map back a couple years and some lakes actually show better pictures of what is under water ie rock piles, submerged points because they take the pics in the fall and most lakes are lowered.) I look for the obvious points, protected coves and inlets/rivers then is towards low water (floating grass, cat tails stumps) middle water 3-10 feet looking for stumps, submerged rocks or gravels piles. then its studying time with depth maps for ridge lines and channels that will hold staging bass for the change in weather patterns I will put about 10% into studying out of water 10% cruising the water and the rest just luck of the draw using past experiences to help me through. I was lucky enough to be part of a seminar put on by Hank Parker a long time ago and he put it this way " A big bass is like a big lion they don't go hunting they wait in the shadows and grab what comes to them they don't want to use any more energy then what is needed for the size of the bait. Hope this helps, I'm not a pro I'm just a guy who likes to fish for enjoyment now.
  2. No fisingh for me this weekend Its moms day and I want to fish for the rest of the season
  3. Did GreatEast today 19 between 9am-1pm then the wind hit and stopped the hits enough for white caps coming back on the big part of the lake. They were definitely cruising tight to the shore. the second basin has temps hitting 58 so I expect spawning to begin soon. Pumpkin seed senkos also same color ragetail on a swim jig were the winners today.
  4. I have been going with a white chatterbait with a zman minnowz with mixed results
  5. I know squarebill crank baits and wacky rigged senkos are working this spring what other items are working so I don't fall into a trap of not using something different.
  6. Looks like Greateast is calling my name Thursday I will be a good boy and not fish on mama day Sunday. Also just watch a video on the bassmaster page catching a 8-12 largemouth on 6 pound test line awesome fish.
  7. http://www.fishflics.com/watch/ this would be the collection of them on one page. for the Project Z challlenge.
  8. I have 2 different size drift wind anchors I use for my boat for windy days
  9. Time to fish a NH lake this weekend now to decide which one
  10. I have only seen people getting shiners at Winni.
  11. Yes it was a day where you could not get a rhythm because the weather kept changing on you. I kept taking advantage when the wind died and casting tight to shore. I stayed in Turtle the whole day.
  12. Did Sebago after not fishing it for 20 yrs got 2 fish for 4.71 added to the team standings, my biggest was 3.5 lb LM. Crazy Crazy day weather wise wind, rain. heavy rain and hail even watched my line float in the air because of all the static charge in the air.
  13. Looks like I will be fishing a tournament tomorrow first one in 20+ yrs on Sebago I guess someone needed a boater.
  14. Glad you had fun. That lake has some crazy size fish, The dam area and the inlet leading out of the ramp is awesome in the summer when the weeds grow. I have never had a 13 inch bass weigh over 2 lbs till I fished that lake. The weekends the ramp area gets busy there so I go during the weekdays on Lovell.
  15. Just got some pics from my buddy fishing Loon Pond in Effingham NH 5 and 6 pound largemouth's including a 5.8 smallmouth all on squarebill crankbaits and jerk baits. Why do I have to work instead of having fun playing in the water.
  16. Did Mousam in Maine yesterday 9 bass and one 26 inch laker that my buddy caught on a silver blade jig the smallies and largemouth were hammering square bill cranking baits they had to have chartreuse on them and floating stick baits most were off rocky shoals 3-6ft the laker he caught in about 18 ft of water near a rocky hump we fished. Also the chikara squarebill crankbait worked great!
  17. YEEHAW! I am fishing today finally, Doing Mousam in ME.
  18. Let me know and I will see if I can get the time off at work
  19. Yes you can $5 to launch at the marina ramp or when the town beach opens you can launch from there but I forgot how much that was. it gets a lot of pressure from ice fishing. I can recommend a quick spot to fish first it would be the river and both of its openings that connects the two lakes together. Nice size smallies on the opposite side of the town beach. I also recommend Lovell lake in wakefield if you want to try a fun small lake with monster bass its right across poor peoples pub.
  20. Milton as in Milton 3 ponds?
  21. Anyone have any experience with a chikara crankbait? just bought myself a chartreuse black back square bill floating 2-4ft
  22. GreatEast in NH and Arrowhead in Maine.
  23. Finally if all goes well I will be out May 1st for my first day of fishing. Been jealous of everyone out already but my job keeps me busy and the money flowing. Congrats on all your catches.
  24. I agree Moosehead on the list? If your fishing smallmouth on Moosehead your likely to be shot on site the locals hate the fact smallmouth have taken over the lake. China has been good, Cobbesy has gone down hill, fishing is nowhere near as good as it was 20 yrs ago. Next year you'll see Chesuncook on the list and it has no bass.
