Looks like a white Carbonlite to me.

I always try to stay away from the first batch on new reels...let everyone else hash out the potential issues. After it seemed like they had been hashed out I picked up a 6.4.1 and its as smooth as silk and casts like a dream. I would say go for it.

I tried out the veritas and did not like it all, just felt too stiff..7mh. I have 3 carbonlites and love em!!!

Good rod but I find the handle a little on the small side, needs to be a little thicker.

I have the Tournament speed spool and absolutely love it, have it paired up with a 7' MH Carbonlite...awesome combo. I might be weird but I also have a BPS Carbonlite(gold) combo and have found that I actually lose a bit of control with a feather weight reel which is why I did not opt to get the TP speed spool.

For sure they are great casters, I love my Mediums for cranks.

They are stiff for a M, they act like a MH.

A great reel for a beginner would be a BPS Pro Qualifer, on sale right now for $80. I was throwing into 20mph wind and not a hint of backlashing.

You guys should have gone with the Carbon Black, little heavier but absolute butter smooth and will chuck a lipless crank half way across Okechobee.

I have 9 combos and mainly fish from shore, if I am going hardcore I bring 3-4, if just going for a quickie I bring 2. But for sure it is addicting collecting tackle so watch out for the monkey.

I have 2 PQ's and 2 CB's....nuff said!

I would go with a PQ $80 or the JM Carbon Black $90. I have two of the Carbon Blacks and they are awesome!!!
