  1. +1 Bill. I wish they had a channel that devoted 100% to fishing without any hunting or anything else. :-)
  2. For me, I want to be a better jig and drop shot fisherman. I didn't use them much in the warmer months. Joe
  3. They are unreal fish too! Just look at the girth of those bellies. Those bass must be over 10 years old and look gorgeous.
  4. I saw one also that he said was 19.8. The bait he uses is bigger than some of the dinks I've caught. LOL Where in the world would he catch these monsters? Looks like somewhere you would see Jeremy Wade. ;-) Joe
  5. I saw Butch Brown on another video on YouTube catch a 17lbs. pig. Then I found this one too. Unreal...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-mkjcR3TUI
  6. Why does everyone think I "misheard" him? I played it several times and even had a friend of mine see it too? I will try and record it with my phone and post the clip here. This is EXACTLY what he said, "It's real calm, no wind, you really don't have a lot of alternatives when fishing. You can pretty much put down 80% of power baits. They are out. Spinners, cranks, top water, you're wasting your time."
  7. Yep. It is not true. I went today and caught plenty in those conditions on minnows
  8. I own the DVD and rewound it 3 times to clarify. Yep. That's what he said. Also, he went further to say that "those reaction baits simply won't produce so don't waste your time, focus on slow worms and put away 80% of your power bait and leave it in the bag"
  9. I have used spinners and swim baits when the water looked like glass. 50/50 on what happens too. I have had luck with the swims a ton in those conditions. He made it sound like it was an impossibility tho. As mentioned, they are all just guidelines. In any event I have these conditions today so I will see how it goes. ;-)
  10. Why a jig? Is it because they can see it better from the bottom and in the fall?
  11. Watched a BASS video and one of the guys on there Gerald Swindel said not to use reaction baits in clear and still water. He said top water, minnows, cranks, spinners, and the like will not trigger strikes. I thought the opposite would be true, If the water is clear and still, then the bass can see the lures easier right??? What do you all think? - Joe
  12. That would be awesome! You should call the HQ and get some info if they are. ;-)
  13. Spoke to the manager on our latest trip the other day to the BPS in Concord NC the other day. The Bass Pro should be done early 2014 in Cary NC. That's about 15 minutes from my house here in Fuquay Varina. Better than the 2 hours to Concord. :-)
