all of my stuff is panic box i cut down on over 90% of my stuff i never take all of my stuff with me just what i know is going to work

well my wife is from about 50 miles east of cleveland and last halloween we had a foot of snow while i was visiting just to let you know

i would have to say that i would keep it and take it to a private pond where i would feed it the people's next door jack russels then i know it would be over weight just kidding think of it this way i am not a godly man by no means however i feel no closet to the man above whoever that may be when i land a monster fish every time i take that fish out of the water that just lessens my chances of feeling that way

Fish all you can a lot of nice bass come from them not sure what you are actually asking though

last few years shrimp on the ohio river has outcaught everything 2 to one

no kidding i have been fishing tourneys out of the ohio river and it is the most messed up that i have seen in years i am going to the elk this weekend for some fly fishing might take the 5 weight and go down stream and target some smallies later in the week

nice fish i am from wv as well what part of the river were you on

conneuat creek crosses interstate 90 fish either find some country roads there and walk the creek you should catch a few that way

i skipped a baitcaster once after many birdnests it is amazing how wonderful it was to watch that thing sink to the bottom of the river

you can always use northlands mimmic minnows with a spinner the bigger sizes have boated many 4 and 5 pound smallies for me

well i just started posting again and RW is right just read the board and you will find all of the info that you need as far as hard baits go any floating minnow is a good choice such as the rapala however there are countless others that offer different actions the pinns minnow from yozuri, bps makes a good floater, lews speed minnow, and blaze tackle company makes a good one as well if your river is a little deeper you can use lucky craft pointers, rapala x-raps, husky jerks, rattling rogues i always carry spinner baits both inline and regular buzzbaits spooks as far as soft plastics go plastic worms senkos tubes and craw imitations work as well just remember that because they say small mouths does not mean that you have to throw small baits throw some larger baits as well you may not catch as many but hold on to your rod when the big ones hit

agree with the senkos however the ikas seem to look like turds floating i am a stream fisherman first and foremost you can fish any bait that you can fish in a stream that you would fish in a lake just remember understanding the current is more important then what to use if you are going for smallies and are wanting to use soft plastics i would recommend using tubes with regular football style jigs vary your weight to the current you want a weight that gets it down where you need it but does not snag every two seconds personally i use cabin creek tubes i used to live down by there and they always treated me great and i really like their plastics however i am sure there are countless other of companies out there that can help you out i know a lot of people use *** from this site and i will most likely give them a try once my stock dwindles alot of people will use large grubs i have had alot of friends that had success but i have never needed to use them

my father in law and i were fishing out at west branch and a cold front had just moved in the bass were tucked up under weed beds but they would not explode up through to get my frog and were hugging the grass too much to come out and get a spinner on the edges so sure enough he breaks this thing out and starts working it across the grass and within 20 minutes he had two four pounders on the boat i thought i was going to die

everything that was said has been sound advice however it seems to me that everyone misses over the little things that got us started if most of your bass are of the smaller variety nothing beets the good old roostertail and original floating rapala many variations and other brands out there but when i am in a tourney and the times are tough these are in my dummy box

alot of people are doing that down here on the ohio river below the dams for smallies however when i am on lake erie if i am using a goby look alike it is usually poo boys and i fish it most of the time on a spot remover

only ones that i have fished is the Northland Mimic minnows they catch fish in Erie and that is all i can say

I agree to the sharpness of the hooks and not so much with the barbs. my fatherinlaw no longer uses barbed hooks and he almost never loses a fish. After watching him I have learned that playing the fish is more important then the hooks. If you know they are going to jump like my smallies like to make sure that you keep the line tight or they will throw it.

Well the weather did not allow us to hit the lake. We usually head out of fairport but we need to find some better places. We hit the break wall and then usually the bubble. However we have found a few fake reefs that seem to produce almost anytime for us. We are not much the tubers but to prefer to use the jerkbaits or yo yo spinnerbaits. Thanks for the input and when i get out there i will let you know what is going on.

What is going on guys have not posted here in a few years so i had to get a new name. I was just wondering if anyone has been on erie yet for some pigs? Will be fishing mothers day if the weather is decent. Been fishing down here on the ohio river the last few weeks. It is starting to pick up. Me and my partner finished 2nd out of 26 boats the other night however no smallies only the green ones.
