  1. just bought the XD745C Full Grip. thanks again for the help guys!
  2. Awesome! Thanks Eric man! Your always giving me good advice on all my threads! Appricate it.
  3. hey guys, i'm looking for a new jig rod. i mostly throw 3/8oz jigs but i want a rod that can handle up to 1oz plus. so i can fish bigger jigs, flipping and pitching 1/2oz or 1oz T-Rigged baits and also would like it for the use of carolina rigging in deep water. was looking at the Dobyns XD745C but i wasn't sure how i feel about the mag heavy as i only fished medium heavy rods up to this point. Also how does the split cork vs full cork compare on a rod for this? is it personal preference or better weight balance? just wanted to see other peoples thoughts before i made a purchase. but i really want to stay with Dobyns for this type of rod. thanks everyone. -zildjian
  4. Hey guys, Where does everyone get their spare tires for their trailers? I recently bought a Bass Tracker Pro Team 190 TX 2011 model and looking to add a spare tire to the trailer. Thanks guys -zildjian
  5. I always match.. Gotta love North Star Flip n Swim jigs with Paca Crawl Sr. Trailers!
  6. I'm going to go with the Dobyns 805cb RM. thank you guys for all your replies! I really apricate everything! -zildjian
  7. Ok sweet I'll check out that rod too. That 765cb rm 7'6" medium wasn't cutting it. So I'm looking at the 765 Glass, 804cb, and the 805cb rm any thoughts between these three?
  8. You like this rod for deep cranks? 15-20'? And it doesn't bend the rod making it look like your hooked up every single retrieve? I just don't want a rod that bends like that when I throw my KVD 6XDs. Because that's all I want this rod for. Is to throw big boys.
  9. I haven't yet but I'll look into them now! Thanks for the comment!
  10. I don't know what rod to pull the trigger on... Dobyns 765CB Glass or 805 RM. Also still looking for other rods to pop up. This is so hard, becayse this is strictly just for Deep Diving Crankin.
  11. I see I see so should I just buy that same rod in MH? Which would be the Dobyns 765cb glass 7'6" MH but has a fast tip.
  12. Thanks guys for all your comments. Really apricate it. Still looking for which rod I want to settle with. So obviously I screwed up with buying that medium Action rod. Looking like everyone likes a MH action. So does that mean Heavy action Rods are too stiff for this? I didn't think finding a deep crankin rod hard. Whats do you look for in a deep crankin rod? 7' 4" - 7' 10" Medium Heavy - heavy? What about tip?
  13. Yeah I deff need a rod that can handle 12' - 20' running cranks because I will only want a rod for just this purpose. What do you guys think about the Powell Max Deep Cranking Rod? 7'11" MH
  14. How does it handle the KVD 6XD's? Does the rod bend a lot when retrieving? Because this 765cb rm did not work at all.
  15. Ok thanks! This will be my new jerkbait rod. Will my Revo Skeet Reese 6:4.1 work well for jerkbaits?
  16. Dam that sucks! Well I'll just keep the rod and use it for something else... What can I use this rod for besides smaller crankbaits? Because the rod is beautiful but it just can't handle deep cranks. Can I just use this 7'6" medium for my jiggin rod or jerk bait rod? Wasn't sure what this rod exceeds in, as I need to use it for something.
  17. I use 14lb Bass Pro XPS 100% Fluorocarbon
  18. I just bought a Dobyns 764CB RM 7'6" 8-14lb 1/4-3/4oz Medium Mod/Fast Action and paired it up with a Daiwa Zillion CC 4:9.1 and my rod was completely bent over trying to retrieve my KVD 6X. I thought this rod would of been able to handle these deep divers... I didn't even realize it was a medium action before I bought it. Should I of just went with the 764CB Medium Heavy instead of the RM Medium? Or does the action really not matter compared to the thickness of the blank? Does anyone recommend any rods that can handle Deep Diving Cranks like the KVD 6X with ease? No hassel or me killing myself trying to get them deep? Lol I was do disappointed when I seen the rod just bend so much just to retrieve the cranks in. But that was my fault. I don't believe this rod was designed for DD Cranks. Thanks guys for the help!
  19. So many decisions for these rods! Everyone seems to recommend Dobyns and Powell huh... Thinking about going with 65lb Braid but not sure which line to choose. Can you really go wrong with Power Pro or The 832? I never hear about bad braid line that much.. Im leaning towards the Dobyns rods... Either going to be the 735c or 736c. Not sure which one to go with. Which model is better for what condition? Thanks again everyone!
  20. Ohhh i see now! I'll be fishing more Lilly pads and visual structure. I'll buy some 50lb PowerPro. I'm assuming most frog rods are rated for that heavy lb line? Or does it go by diameter when using braid on these rods?Because I think the Dobyns 736C is rated max at 25lb or 30lb line. Also what do you guys think about the Powell Max Casting Frog Rod 7'3" Mag Heavy vs Falcon Cara T7 micro guide 7'3" Heavy or Daiwa Light and Tough frog rod 7'4" Heavy Tele.
  21. Is 30lb power pro braid not going to cut it?
  22. Awesome thanks for all the help so far guys! What is your take on MH-Heavy action for this type of fishing? Just go with a Heavy for the extra power?
  23. Is the 735C and 736C glass rods?
  24. Hey Guys, I'm looking into buying a nice frog rod. What does everyone like to use rod wise? Company, length and action? Just looking for recommendations. Im not sure if I want a 7' or 7'4". MH or H. And which company really stands out for their frog rods? Falcon, Dobyns, Powell, Diawa, Duckett... Etc. I have a Shimano 201E7 waiting to be paired up with something nice.. Thanks!
  25. Thanks guys! I've been reading a lot about the elite 5 DSI and how much of a nightmare they are. Made my descion about that unit easy. Will look into the hummingbird DI models.
