  1. yeah this pike on a kvd 1.5 crank lol so random
  2. awesome fish
  3. Yeah I haven't even seen beds... It's horrible. I guess I'll just keep grinding it out.
  4. Thanks guys appreciate it
  5. Took my buddy from work out today on my local lake.. From 8am-2:30pm only thing we caught was a tan. I couldn't find the bass.. I don't know why it was so difficult today.. Didn't see the bass shallow or on any of the drop off ledges that i usually always hook up a few fish at. Bummer day! I need to become a better fisherman... Anyone else having a hard time out on the lake?
  6. Thank you guys for all your input!! Really appreciate the replies.. I'm going to go with the Shimano Sustain FG 2500 Reel and most likely the Dobyns DX702SF with 10lb Power Pro Super Slick Braid with 8lb leader of Sunline FC Sniper fluorocarbon line.
  7. I think I'm going to go with the 2500 size Sustain FG... I'm not sure about the size of the drag washers compared between the 1000 vs 2500 model reels if they are smaller or same size. What else is the 1000 size reel designed for? since I'm only using this for light weight drop shot fishing. Is it just better to go with the larger reel?
  8. That cumara rod is itching into my mind now... I doubt it, but does any one own both the Cumara 7'2" and DX702SF? Or ever fish both for drop shots?
  9. I'm doing 10lb braid 6 or 8lb fluorocarbon leader. Just nervous the 1000 reel would be to small. But I'm only using it for drop shot 1/8 oz -1/4oz weights nose hooking small plastics in shallow water. Just don't want to make a mistake with reel choice. I decided on the DX702SF for my rod.
  10. Still having a hard time choosing reel size 1000 or 2500 shimano sustain fg
  11. You think the 1000 size would be too small being paired up with the 702SF?
  12. hows the tip on the dobyns champion 702SF? i know its a fast tip, but would you rather have a extra fast over the fast tip?
  13. yeah i was thinking it might be to small... for my rods its between the shimano crucial drop shot spinning 7'2" Medium Extra Fast or Dobyns Champion 7' Medium/LT 702 Fast paired up with shimano sustain 1000 or 25000 with 8lb fluorocarbon line. can't decide on either yet
  14. i have multiple dobyn rods... how do you like the 702SF? tip wise, action, length? might go that direction
  15. how you like the sustain? worth the money? was looking at the 1000 vs 2500
  16. thank you very much! have you done business with them before?
  17. i don't really have a budget, usually before i buy a rod i like to see what every ones setups are and their likes and dislikes. then i will go from there. but i never fished for small mouth, and this season i want to start and i want a dedicated drop shot setup just for this purpose. I wasn't sure which rod, length, action, tip, line and reel is preferred for drop shot fishing... but i want to use a spinning reel for this setup. i'll be using 10lb super slick power pro braid and 8lb fluorocarbon line as leader. any thoughts? g loomis falcon dobyns duckett shimano st. croix
  18. Hey guys, What do you recommend for a drop shot rod? Looking to get a setup dedicated for just drop shots for smallmouth fishing. Thanks, -zildjian
  19. yeah i'm not installing the power pole directly to the transom. so the motor will have to be removed for the install. anyone know if harrisburg bass pro shops do good work recently?
  20. I bought the adapter plate for the power pole since i didn't want to drill into my boat. So the motor will have to be removed, which I never did anything like that before.. And for the humminbird unit I never installed one before which doesn't seem that difficult, but I will def be placing the transducer in another location other than the factory location. I never got on plane depth readings where my factory transducer is located. Wayne P explained that for me. Does anyone recommend any marine shop around philadelphia area or over the bridge in Nj other than taking the ride up to Harrisburg to BPS...
  21. Thank you guys! This is such a relief... I will absolutely test them before I head out on the water..
  22. Thanks guys! Lol I'm going!
  23. I thought if you don't disconnect your batteries that they will slowly drain dead, or not hold a charge as long...
  24. I'm a new boat owner and I'm so embarrassed about this, but I'm not sure what to do now.. I have an in door storage unit for my tracker, which while it was in storage from December - April I never disconnected my cranking and deep cycle batteries... As soon as I got the boat home I charged the batteries and they are fully charged. But what should I expect now? Im afraid to put her in the water... Should I just buy two new batteries and be done with it? Rookie mistake.. Sucks. Thanks for any help everyone
